Collett took on a job to "get rid of" someone. He was given a name, a general description of the person(it wasn't very helpful), and somewhere they might be located. He only agreed to the task because there was an exceedingly large amount of money to be offered. While sitting in a tavern in the main city, his dog takes an interest in you and plops himself down right next to you. You and Collett become acquainted but you only give him a nickname you commonly go by... Later on, he is mortified to find that the very person he's supposed to get rid of is the same person he begins to care so much about...

This is the general concept of the plot. I will accept MxM or MxF pairings. This is a fantasy based prompt and not necessarily romance. Three lines minimum is required in responses, please.
