About the RP
This is a sandbox RP. The story here is developed through your character and their interactions with others. Instead of having a single through plot line, we have constructed an established setting for characters from across realms, kingdoms, and more to gather and explore. Meet people, develop relationships, expand upon the lore, take on the role of someone who holds great power, start a war, start a village, command a tribe, the possibilities are endless.
Rules
-This is a turn-based RP. Meaning depending upon the number of players at the current time, a posting order will be put into effect. This helps maintain the flow of the RP and gives everyone an equal chance to post. As some post faster or slower than others.
-This RP also may feature Adult Content. This will be handled in a respectful and story based manner.
-The style of this RP is Semi-Para to Para form. At the end of the day it really should be quality over quantity but we still want your characters actions and feelings to be effectively known. When it comes to fighting/battles, T1 combat can be used or dice rolls.
- Have fun and be creative. RP is suppose to be about creating stories and sharing them with others.
- With any RP OOC and IC will be kept separate at all times and OOC will be in (())
-Also be aware that there is a plot/storyline being played out at all times along with many sub plots. Your choices at anytime can and will change the course of action. Don't be afraid to play an antagonist or the latter. This is RP and we are creating a story, every character is different. That being said, respect for each other is a must. Our characters actions are NOT our personal actions/feelings.
MORE LOCATIONS TBA
The following are the different major locations within Merthalle. The forest spans for hundreds of thousands of miles and unknown locations and discovered to be uncovered. No one truly knows what all resides within. The following are the most well known and/or civilized locations.
Melora's Garden
City of The Wood Elves
The EnvironmentLocated in the southern corner of Merthale, Melora's Garden, the CIty of The Wood Elves thrive. Build around, with, and even through the giants of trees, the City has established itself to work with the grand nature of the forest. Designed with multiple levels spanning from the forest floor to the highest treetops in the canopy. It is said that the trees in this area are not only the tallest, but the strongest in the entirety of Merthale due to the Tree-Songs of the Elven people. The architecture consists of white washed stone and Apatite, a beautiful blue soft gem. Arches, domes, and curved and unique edges. The kingdom itself is quiet small compared to cities outside of the forest but consists of many great houses, a large marketplace, a number of libraries, and of course the palace itself. The animals here seem much less hostile if not dormant and peaceful. Waterfalls and lakes are filled with fish and the purest of water.
The People
The Wood Elves who call Melora’s Garden home are a strange combination of honor praising, nature preserving, and religious fanaticism. A proud people who respect the elders of their council of 5.They respect those soldiers who go off to war to protect their great City. The are the nurturers and preserves of the natural world around them. The care for the plants and the animals that they share a home with as is proclaimed by the council of 5. What they care for above all else, is respect for the ancient religious ceremonies of their City, as decreed by Melora. While naturally a peaceful and civilized people, those who disrespect these ceremonies are punished by excruciating means. Heretics are are attached to trees by spider webbing to allow the natural forces eat at them till they are no more. Heretics have their limbs tied to four different elk and have them torn off in a gruesome display for all to see. Heretics, in the worst offense of culture of the Wood Elves are sent to the Feywild, to be hunted down and killed by the goddess Melora herself, or so it is rumored.
The High Counsel
The High Counsel of Melora are those who rule over the kingdom, while they claim to tell the common folk of Melora’s Breath that Melora herself is the one who approves the edicts and commands, it is really the council of five that decide the fate of the people, not the goddess herself. The Council of five is not a welcoming place, it is cruel and unforgiving, one slip of wrong information, and you will find yourself being sent to the Feywild with nothing but the clothes on your back. The Religion
Melora, The Great Mother. She is the goddess of nature, wilderness and the sea. She commands her followers thusly: Protect the wild places of the world from destruction and overuse. Oppose the rampant spread of cities and empires. Hunt aberrant monsters and other abominations of nature. Do not fear or condemn the savagery of the wild. Live in harmony with the wild.
Ava-'osto
Central Region of the Tribal Wood Elves
The EnvironmentAbout four days journey north from Melora’s breath you will find a dense hazardous forest only ever traversed by the bravest or most desperate people in this region. The area us full of wild animals and monstrosities that if they catch the scent of fear, the hunt is over before it begins. Scattered throughout, small camps and villages of wood elves make their homes within the trees.
The People
The thick dense jungle is home the Ava-’Osto. A people that truly respect the ancient ways of hunting and surviving. They do not cower from a fight behind stone walls, they remain in the open where they either earn the respect of the jungle, or become enveloped by it. Being of the same kin of the Wood Elves of Melora's Garden, those who grew wary of the misuse of power by the Council of Five abandoned the kingdom to take up their own ways. They refused to let the way of the city corrupt their beautiful home no longer. This group is the combination of two existing tribes and a new 3rd tribe of exiles and separatists from Melora’s Garden. The Ollo’vae, the Galu, and Elo, respectively. The Ollo’vae and the Galu, content to live on their own in the Jungle never seeing another city elf again, Until the group now know Elo came to the homes of the other tribes describing the horrors of what the city elves were doing. They wouldn't stand of this abhorrent treatment and disgraces brought about their beloved deity.
Stone Ridge Village
Human Settlement
The Environment Located on the northern edge of the great forest, Stone Ridge is one of the few human settlements that dare venture too far into Merthalle. A village of hunters and gatherers, it is a crowded little village in the summer time as those passing through stop to trade with the best fur merchants in hundreds of miles. The buildings are modest being made of stone and timber. The cold northern rains more often than not creates a rather wet and chilling environment. Other than the fur and leather merchants, the village is known for their great hospitality and warmth stemming from the Crow's Perch Inn. A bustling tavern and inn that welcomes traders to their warm fires, tasteful ale, and service girls.
The People
The people here are mainly hunters, trappers, and gatherers; utilizing Merthalle's resources. The settlement is mostly human but bringing in a number of different races through merchants and traders. The people who live here are kindly folk and are sometimes too friendly and welcoming. The service girls are a popular calling to visitors across the area and are some of the best women to be found. Edmund Oaksin, the village mayor, is main goal to expand the settlement into a major city.
The Whispering Waters
The Environment A large tranquil lake containing beautiful and vibrant blue water. Typically found in the southern region but is said to mysteriously appear in multiple places and never seen in the same location more than once. This lake draws creatures in from all over Merthalle to drink her healing waters. The lake is also rumored to be a portal to the Feywild. At night the lake is surrounded by mystical music and dissident whispering voices. Those who are brave enough to swim to the center of the lake, are often seen or heard from again. Some elf tribes, the largest of these tribes being the Ollo’vae, have a tradition of send a great warrior in the lake. If they return, they are the Chosen. They are to become the greatest defender of the all the tribes, to unite them all and reside over their section of the forest.
All-Mother's Rest
Home to the Rol Gorraz
The EnvironmentA lightly forested grassland to the east that always seems to resonate with the battle hymns and beating drums of Orc Clans. Mostly flat land, that allows the orc clans to roam freely and hunt large migrant mammals, always having a clear line of sight all around the plane. The grass here is as tall as a man’s waist and covered the land between a few large cliffs and valleys. It serves as stark contrast against the bulk of the forest itself as it thins away to reveal the grassland.
The People
These grasslands are home to many Orc Clans but the greatest being the Rol Gorraz. The Rol Gorraz are an extremely unkind people who not only have a deep hatred for their rival clans but also for the City Elves, they envy their wealth, and wish for a share of it. They are bloodthirsty and cruel creatures who are ridden with greed. They are extremely ceremonious to which many of those ceremonies consist of blood sacrifice, body scarification, and rights of passage
The Society
The head of all Orcish societies is known as the All-Mother. All clans have their own hierarchy of war and raiding chiefs but the All-Mother is essentially the one with the final word. She is malicious, typically and elder, woman who seems to be able to control the elements to punish those who disobey her. She is usually a Shaman, who some foresight into the near future. The warriors and hunters of these clans respect the All-Mothers final say on everything, even if they disagree. They will carry out her will till the day they die.
Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Iron age
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Details: Occasional dice use, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.
This sounds cool
But do you require me to do really long posts with more than a hundred words?
