This is specifically fifth edition. I don't know how fifth edition works, but I know it's a current and user-friendly version of Dungeons and Dragons.

These are both level-one characters. Kori is a Rogue character from the far east. She is the last of a ninja clan, but her training is not complete. She spent the majority stowing away from her enemies and stealing to survive. She's become and expert climber, pick-pocket, and knife wielder.

Jerry Jay is the other character I would like to work on. While made for a modern setting, he is frequently used in other time periods, particularly medieval times. He is a world traveler with a love of music, particularly his flute. Complicating the matters, in many iterations of his story, his playing can produce miracles, such as changing the weather, summoning sunshine, and making evil entities experience lots and lots of pain.

I would like some pointers on how to apply stats to these characters in case I ever wanted to play a table-top game with my friends with this system. Anyone have any advice?

I also have a mage named Julia, but she's not a level-one, so I'll work on her later once I know what I'm doing more (I have no idea what level she'd be at right now).

I think this video will be of help to you! :) There's a wealth of these tutorial vids on YT, so it's always worth a rummage.

Adding everything up properly can be tricky. There are some autocalculating sheets available, which should be fine for you so long as you're sticking with the PHB materials. (Not sure how many of them out there account for material from additional books.)

Happy to hear it! The best way to learn (if you find the chance) is by jumping right in with some fellow novices, so I'd keep an eye out for D&D games here on RPR. To those people wanting to try starting a game I would also recommend the Roll20 website, which you can make/host maps on, play tunes, upload character sheets, and roll and count up your dice automatically. :D Good luck!
