Forums » Smalltalk » I've been here two years?! Woah!

So, I just looked at my account info per usual to see how many epic days I have left just to be safe, and noticed I joined RPR on June 23rd 2016! So I've officially been an RPR member a little more than two years! To me that just feel crazy, because I remember joining and being so excited to make my first character sheets. I had never really roleplayed wrote before, only wrote fanfics and poetry, and original stuff, I had no idea what I was doing, if there were other people who wrote tons and tons per post like I knew I would. I was nervous, my characters were pretty drab, and there wasn't a whole lot of information on their pages, and I didn't feel super confident about them.

Now I have twenty whole characters that are all super fleshed out and have amazing looking pages. I have RPed with so many amazing people, whether the RP's didn't last very long, or are still going strong.

I did take a break from rpr for several months last year due to personal stuff, but as soon as I logged into my account again for the first time in several months I was immediately pulled back in, and felt like a part of my life was back. I have since met several freaking amazing people who have become dear friends of mine My first year here, I didn't make a whole lot of friends on here who I still talk to because my rps tended to fizzle out after a while, I was still figuring my own style and confidence out. I did meet my ex boyfriend here, and while he ended up...well, I won't do into detail even though he isn't on this site anymore - was not a good person in the end - but not many friends in that first year. Maybe one.

However in the second year... WOW. I have met a handful or so of just brilliant people, and some of them I only ever talk to via OOC chats on here, and others have become my friends on other sites as well, but they are all so amazing.

I can't believe it's been two years. I've watched this site grow quite a bit more in the last year alone. I participated in Epic Week for the FIRST TIME, this year! Just in the last 7 months along I have created characters for RP on here that I now might be putting in books! This place is so inspiring.

I have had people message me to RP because they see other peoples kudos to me, my kudos to them, and other people mentioning me to them (how crazy is that?!), and honestly that melts my heart.

I will probably still be here when I am 90. I wonder if my characters will age with me. Wow they're gonna be old.

Thank you all for being so brilliant, amazing, and wonderful to write with. Even if I have never met you, or written with you, you're awesome too.

What can I say about this amazing writer? This. I've been writing with Juliette Grey for only seventeen days, and I have to say that I have learned a lot from their style to incorporate into my writing, and I have been writing collaborative RP for a good number of years. It's always such a joy when you take the chance and invest in writing with someone new and it seems to click and the story develops almost seamlessly. My world is fuller for knowing but one character of damnationfromafar.
