Just wanted to drop a quick introduction. I've always been interested in the idea of "roleplaying" or writing shared stories per say and finally decided to make an account. I don't have too much free time but the summer is looking quite clear for me so I thought why not jump in and try out all this RP stuff!
I've written novels and stories in the past but I find that there is a form of abstract individuality that comes from writing a story with multiple individuals.
Besides all of that, this site is absolutely gorgeous; props to the creator and moderators.

This is a GREAT place to learn to RP. We're super friendly and happy to help newbies.
When getting started with RP, I really recommend this primer on basic RP concepts as a starting place. Even if you have some RP experience, it can be a nice way to see what the general norm is here.
We also had some community discussions awhile back about how to improve at RP.. I boiled them down into interesting articles for those who are interested. Here's a selection of my favorite ones:

And if you want to put a slightly more advanced technique in your back pocket for now and again: Using dice to enhance RP
This is a pretty big site with a lot of features and areas, so if you have questions or curiosities, there's a few ways to get help. Probably the first thing to try is just typing your question into the search box, or you can check the help section. If that fails, everyone here is awesome and friendly. Please don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it!

I just saw that you posted in the same RP thread as me, so maybe we'll have an RP together. Your description on individuality is great! It's one of the reasons I also like to RP; being able to not only test the ideas and motives of a character with others, but to also experiment with the style of writing itself. I think you'll find the site to be a really good place to understand your own mindset and to see where you fall in a community.
