As I stated in another thread I'm posting this in regards to hopefully assist in minimizing OOC conflict in the RPing world. This is my personal list of drastic events that I personally feel require consent in order to initiate. If anyone else has any others, let me know and I'll add them to this post.

Sex/Rape
Death/Dismemberment
Turning Vampiric Lycan or any others
Soul Removal (Yes I have encountered this scenario before)
Feeding (Vampiric based or otherwise)
Kidnapping/Hostage scenarios
Slavery Scenarios
Character Pregnency/Miscarriage/Abortion
Theft

And as I mentioned in the other thread, I'd add theft! In some situations it's more forgivable than others--e.g., the standard "street urchin snatches something from PC's pocket and runs," which usually both allows the PC's player to decide what was grabbed and downright invites them to catch the urchin and get their stuff back, is something I'd consider okay to go ahead and do. But if it's a specific item, or is intended to be a permanent theft, or anything like that, I think the thief's player should check first.

I always go by common sense. I'm not going to ask consent to kill a character if it's obvious in every single post that it's where the RP is going.

If it's a drastic turn of events, then I always ask consent. But if the RP leads up to it, it shouldn't be necessary. If someone doesn't want to go there, they need to give me a heads up earlier on when things started to fall together.

In general, it's not so much about particular subjects that require consent. It's about being respectful and using your brains properly. It bothers me when I have to ask consent about whether or not my character can knock another's brains out for groping or threatening, when the RP is screaming at us that will happen, you know?

Edit: I'm also not 100% sure what purpose this thread has on its own besides casually debating the consent rule? I'm not discouraging staying on topic and addressing new ideas, but a list of items on consent is incredibly personal and varies from person to person, so having one universal list won't work too well. There are people who will let you RP out anything except for death, and they usually indicate this on their (character) profile anyway.

I'm just slightly confused on why this is in a topic and not in your profile, since it's a personal list that only reflects your preferences.

That's why I ask prior to the RP starting. I visualize where it may lead before things even kick off and if I feel there's a chance of one of the above incidents occurring, then I'll ask before it even starts. If it starts heading that way and I didn't predict then as soon as I notice I'll throw it out there.

Edit: Twas a list to assist others if something should be negotiated via consent. I am fully aware that there will always be arguments of this matter and as such is not 100% preventable but the least I could do is simply offer sound advice for people on what subjects could be talked about prior to/during an RP if they prefer asking for/being asked for consent to prefore the afore mentioned events.
