I'm in a "cheery" mood tonight. I got word that a dear friend I worked with in the 1990's and RP'd with in the 2000s has passed away after a battle with ALS/MND. We had quite deep talks back in the day and she told me of her heroin addiction as a teenager.

She said this song by Black Sabbath was spot on when it came to opiate use. She was one tough woman. Having a daughter at age thirteen, addiction, rehabilitation, single motherhood, yet always seemed to have a positive attitude and was quite an outwardly happy person. Rest in Peace Jessica 'Raven Tinuviel' Davis - January 1 1970 to February 24 2019.

Salutes Jessica even though she never met her.
This song.

I'm only listening to it in my head, but that counts.

No One is to Blame

By, Howard Jones

You can look at the menu,
But you just can't eat
You can feel the cushion,
But you can't have a seat
You can dip your foot in the pool, But you can't have a swim
You can feel the punishment,
But you can't commit the sin

And you want her,
And she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her
And she wants you
No one, no one, no one ever is to blame

You can build a mansion,
But you just can't live in it
You're the fastest runner
But you're not allowed to win
Some break the rules,
And let you cut the cost
The insecurity
Is the thing that won't get lost

And you want her,
And she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her
And she wants you
No one, no one, no one ever is to blame

You can see the summit
But you can't reach it
It's the last piece of the puzzle
But you just can't make it fit
Doctor says you're cured
But you still feel the pain
Aspirations in the clouds
But your hopes go down the drain

And you want her,
And she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her
And she wants you
No one, no one, no one ever is to blame
No one ever is to blame
No one ever is to blame

Bittersweet Symphony
by: The Verve

Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Try to make ends meet, you're a slave to the money, then you die.

I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down

You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah.

No change,
I can't change,
I can't change,
I can't change,

But I'm here
In my mold,
I am here
In my mold.

But I'm a million different people from one day to the next
I can't change
My mold,
No, no,
No, no, no...

Well I never pray,
But tonight I'm on my knees, yeah.

I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah.

I let the melody shine,
let it cleanse my mind,
I feel free now.

But the airwaves are clean
And there's nobody singing to me now.

No change,
I can't change,
I can't change,
I can't change,

But I'm here
in my mold,
I am here
In my mold.

And I'm a million different people from one day to the next
I can't change
My mold,
No, no,
No, no, no.

Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, That's life.

Try to make ends meet,
Try to find some money,
Then you die.
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah.

No change,
I can't change,
I can't change,
I can't change,

But I'm here
In my mold,
I am here
In my mold.

But I'm a million different people From one day to the next
I can't change
My mold,
No, no,
No, no, no.

I can't change
My mold,
No, no,
No, no, no.

I can't change
My mold,
No, no,
No, no, no.
