"I apologize Esmee and I don't think I will be coming back here anytime soon" Tristen said as he walks out of the door looking around for the creature that almost killed him. After realizing for a second how dark it was Tristen sighs bring his hand to his face "Mother is going to go crazy when she hears that I didn't make it to the date with Ms Chanary" he says bring his eyes towards Esmee.
"I can tell you right now, if we go to dinner to night it isn't going to be a great one dealing with my mother, so I hope your ready" he said smiling and sticking his hand out to Esmee as a gentlemen should to a lady.

He had gone too far this time. Her only son not only went off somewhere mysterious when he had important placed to be and now he was straight up missing. She knew that he hadn't really been happy with the arrangement but she knew it was her job as a mother to make sure he was safe first, then he could find happiness on his own.
"Arthur," she called out to the other room.
"Yes, milady?"
"Did Tristan say anything about today, what he was doing?"
"Well ma'am, he seemed particularly distracted today," he said. He was holding back and she knew it. In the last several months in her husbands absence they had gotten to know each other extraordinarily well.
"By?"
He knew the tone of her voice and the choice to hold back the information about Tristan's other girlfriend barely crossed his mind and only after he said, "There is another girl whom he invited to dinner tonight."

"GENEVIEVE," she heard her father calling.
She was wearing a appropriate dress for dinner, her favorite green one which was much more comfortable than most. Her father wasn't particularly fond of it but he had to make concessions somewhere. She descended the stairs but was careful not to run, than would only anger him further. Before she could even complete her journey down the stairs he met her and declared, "You lied to me, girl."
"I have not," she said softly as he insisted women in his house speak.
"Mr. Godfrey didn't come today."
"You didn't ask he accompanied me on my ride, you asked how I liked it," she knew that if she had been caught her deception that this would be her defense from the beginning. It had been the most glorious ride of her life. She hadn't needed to be lady like or ride slow, she was as free as the wind.
Her father in his anger grabbed her by the arm and started pulling her up the stairs shouting, "MARGEE, GET THIS GIRL IN HER RED DRESS AND BRING HER OUT TO THE CARRIAGE," margee was quick to apear, "and if she won't come then drag her by her hair."

Esmee smiled, something he was making her do a lot more often then she usually did. Looping her arm with his, she half let him lead and when he seemed unsure, she would cut back in and lead them back on the right course. Hopefully today wouldn't be so bad as her stomach curled at the thoughts of being sent out of the home before she had the chance to prove that she wasn't a complete animal....hopefully.
