So this is a bit of a niche game type, but I've been doing it for a few years to a lot of really awesome results. Basically what I'm setting up is a large tabletop game/LARP hybrid -- all of it online! These games run at whichever hours the players would like, with a small team of Storytellers guiding things and running plot in a way that turns the community into an interconnected set of tabletop games all operating in a shared continuity.
Sessions (called scenes) are done in vignettes using Google Hangouts to stream and upload to YouTube, after which time the link and a short description of the scene will be posted in our group's forums. These can happen at any times, from ST-run main plot scenes, to Narrator-run personal plot scenes, to scenes between two (or more) players of their characters talking and interacting.

All that explanation aside, if you're interested, I'd love to meet you! Our continuity is set in the Chronicles of Darkness, in the modern city of Austin, Texas. The games featured currently are Vampire: the Requiem, Changeling: the Lost, Mage: the Awakening, and Werewolf: the Forsaken. While it is heavily under construction (and probably will be until launch), please take a gander at our group.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Modern
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
