For those who don't, Planescape is an old D&D setting and my absolute favorite. Unfortunately it's fairly randomly obscure and as a result difficult to find players who want to adventure across the planes.

So brief overview for the uninitiated:

Planescape is put simply, philosophical medieval fantasy. Ideas and concepts can be made real in this world, and often ARE. There are gods and angels, demons and devils, and a lot of regular folk too just trying to make their way.
This is a setting that contains a city sized mimic, birds that feed on your life force and sentient brambles (well razorvine but you get my point).

If I find enough people, i'd like to start a game in Sigil, the City of Doors. A ring shaped city that sits atop an infinitely tall spire (take a moment to wrap your head around that) which itself sits in the middle of an infinitely large expanse (again, take a moment)

The city is home to many factions, groups united by a common philosophy. But more on that if I get any interest.

I don't want to gm, in fact, I don't want a gmed game at all. I want a very loose freeform rp that just happens to be set in this setting. So no dice, no strict rules, just your standard rp dos and donts.

The beauty of Sigil is that you can shove just about any sort of character you want in there. And you don't need much knowledge of the setting as you could quite legitimately be "not from round here" and thus totally clueless.

I don't think i'm doing a good job of selling this am I? lol.

Planescape, who wants to play a game set in the Planescape setting?

The City sized mimic is on of those things that get creepier the more you think about it

In the meantime, who wants to bash out characters and rough ideas? Maybe we can come up with some sort of plot.

The Great Great Grand Daughter of a Litch and a Succubus Thea is which hunting Mage-Knight Who's in Sigil looking into a family mystery.

Sithriel, a favourite angel (specifically an Astral Deva) of Sune, the goddess of love and beauty. Or at least he was, before he Fell from Grace and got cast down from the Upper Planes. Don't worry, he's still cheerful enough despite the whole 'fallen angel' thing. He's also a touch materialistic for a celestial being, somewhat naive too, but most of all determined to get back into his Lady's good graces once again, even if that means going to Hell and back.

I also whipped up a character template today for Planescape-based characters, and I've made it available to everyone in this conversation, so you're all free to use or not use that as you prefer.

As Monk is feeling under the weather I've started a tread here

What you don't have hundreds of characters just lying around demanding you get back to writing?

Yeah sorry I ran out of meds so I had withdrawl headaches. I have meds again so i'm okay.

I also have a bariaur sorc who likes to headbutt people when she runs out of spells, because why not?

That sentence seems like an oxymoron! I am worried specifically BECAUSE Monky is in hospital! If I may ask, what happened?
