Markal had the benefit of surprise and quickly killed many of the men around him. The rest were preoccupied with Tolora, thinking her the bigger threat. He heard a girl inside the caravan screaming as it jolted forward. He sprinted for the caravan and used his kasarigama to latch on to it. He jumped on and started killing the men on the back. Some he only had to push off.
He glanced back at Tolora, assuring himself that she'd be ok. He climbed to the top of the caravan and felt it turn in an attempt to dislodge him. He used the scythe like a pick in the top and slowly made his way toward the front. He jumped down on the driver and struggled a little before killing him too. He had a long scratch from one of the men's knives on his arm and another one on his cheek. He looked around. "How do I stop this thing?!?"

Jazmine heard the question clear as day. It was a good one but she had no clue. Silently she begged and begged it to stop, and it did. Jazmine had no clue how she did that but she was glad. She banged on the door screaming with tears of joy running down her already raw cheeks.
Markal was just as surprised as Jazmine when it stopped. He went around and opened the door after bashing the lock. "Are you ok?" He must have been quite a sight to see. He was dirty all over and covered in blood
Jazmine answered his question by throwing herself into his arms and sobbing. "T-t-thanks f-fo-for sa-sav-saving m-me" she stampered in-between sobs.
Markal was surprised when Jazmine threw herself at him. "H-Hey, it's ok. You don't have to cry anymore, you're safe. And I'm getting blood all over you..." He looked back at the other frightened girls in the caravan. "You guys are free now."
Jazmine let go of him as all the other girls ran past them trying to get their freedom back. She then asked the question that had been bugging her when she first heard him. "Where's Tolora?" she said nervously.
(If i don't answer the next one immediately it's because i'm hungry.)
"Oh, she was still fighting last time I saw her. Don't worry though, she knows how to take care of herself. These guys weren't that tough either." He started walking back towards where the fight had started. He kept his kasarigama out, just in case.
Tolora killed the last of the men soon after Markal had freed Jazmine. She had a few wounds where they had gotten lucky, but was otherwise unharmed. She loped in the direction the caravan had disappeared, going slower than usual because of a gash in her paw.
Jazmine followed Markal down towards the town again. Then just as she was getting tired again, she saw Tolora coming up the road towards them. With a renewed source of energy, she ran towards Tolora and hugged her so ungracefully that she stumbled and almost fell on her face. "Tolora, I thought I lost you forever." she said as a new round of sobs escaped her.
Tolora ran to Jazmine even as she ran towards her. She kept her steady with her head and licked her face, tasting tears. She changed her form and hugged Jazmine close to her. "I thought I did too. You scared me." She looked at Markal standing there like he was waiting for something. Tolora laughed. "Thank you Markal." He grinned.
"Tolora ca-can wee g-go back to the d-den" Jazmine stampered as her sobs subsided.
"Of course. Do you think you can still sleep?" She wiped Jazmine's tears away with the pad of her thumb.
"I know I can't!" Markal was a ball of energy now.
"Great. Now you get to take a bath to get all that gunk off you." Tolora replied. Markal pouted a little but agreed.

Jazmine was about to answer when a huge yawn escaped her mouth. She giggled and shook her head yes as she put her hand into Tolora's.
Tolora walked back to the den with Jazmine and Markal left a little bit before they got to it. Tolora shifted to her tiger form and laid down. She didn't plan on really sleeping. More like catnapping. She wanted to stay aware of what was going around her.
Markal went off in search of a river or creek or something he could wash off in. He finally found one a little ways away from the den. He stripped down and submerged himself. The water was an icy shock but it felt nice once he got used to it. Markal rinsed his clothes in the river after he was done and put on a new set of clothes he had in his backpack. It was strange what happened to their clothes when they shifted. The didn't tear off or anything, but instead seemed to disappear entirely until they shifted back to human form. Tolora didn't know why this happened, but it was definitely nice that they didn't come back naked.
Jazmine laid down beside Tolora and rested her head on her soft fur, then immediately dozed off forgetting everything that had happened tonight.
Markal went back to the den and hung his clothes up to dry on a nearby branch. He looked in and saw Tolora open one eye at him. "I'll keep watch." He whispered. She closed her eye and fell into a deeper slumber. She must be really tired, first the fight with the nue, and now this. Markal went back outside and swung himself up into a tree, higher and higher until he felt like he could touch the sky.
Jazmine slept soundly until she started having strange nightmares. Her nightmares were verry vivid, even though she new she was asleep she felt like she was there. There was a man standing over a lady in the road with a dagger in her back. Then the dream shifted an she saw the same man in an ally-way looking at a wall. Suddenly the wall opened and the man stepped inside, not before Jazmine noticed his dagger shaft was empty. With a gasp, Jazmine awoke. Jazmine turned around and tried to wake up Tolora to tell her her dream. I just know it was real. She kept saying silently to herself.
