(Ok See ya tomorrow!)
Markal was shocked. "What...? Our father abandoned us. We don't even know if he's alive."
Markal was shocked. "What...? Our father abandoned us. We don't even know if he's alive."
"Well he was alive and swinging." Casper replied. Suddenly he saw movement by the mouth of a cave nearby. "Stay still." he warned. just as the figure came closer.
Jazmine had been watching ever since Markal shouted in surprise. She moved closer and just when she was about to go back into the cave, the boy's eyes rested on her hiding place. Cautiously she got up and walked over to Markal and saw Tolora the first time in a couple hours. A new round of tears pouring out of her, she sat behind Tolora and rested her head in her lap. Jazmine gently stroked Tolora's head. She looked up at the flying boy, then Markal "What happened to her?" she whispered.
Markal looked down on his sister's face and his shoulders drooped. "I don't know." He said quietly. "For now, the best thing we can give her is a chance to sleep. Her body will heal itself and we'll have to wait until she wakes up to ask her details.
Tolora's eyes flickered and she saw the face above her. Her first reaction was dread, was it her father, come back to finish the job while she was weak? Her eyes focused and she relaxed. It was Markal. She saw Jazmine too, crying again. She reached out shakily. "It's ok sweetie, I'm alright..." She didn't know if she'd even said it, her own voice sounded tiny and far away.
Markal was trying to say something to her and it took a little bit for it to filter into her ears. "...happened? Is it true that Dad...that he did this?"

When Jazmine saw that Tolora was awake, she squealed in joy and hugged her hard. "Oh my god, i thought you were dead." she shouted as new tears rolled down her cheeks.
"I'm glad this reunion is going well, but i'm sorta curious why you.." he pointed at Tolora "Were fighting your father, in the middle of nowhere..." Casper remarked matter-o-factly.
Tolora hugged Jazmine back and sat up. Markal looked at her with his ever-curious eyes. And the boy with wings she hadn't seen before. "Well, to make a long story short, I was hunting for my mother's killer and turned out it was my father, who had been waiting for me out there." She said in a monotone voice. She could still hardly believe it herself, but the facts lined up and there was no denying the truth.
She glanced at Markal, he'd probably take it harder than her. He'd always fantasized about a dad that was good and important and had good reasons for leaving them. One that would come and find them someday and tell them that he'd never wanted to abandon them.

Markal sat there, stunned. So it really was true. His father was a killer and had almost killed the only family he had left, Tolora. He saw how pained she looked, even though she tried to hide it. He shook with the feeling flowing through him, confused and jumbled up. "He'll pay for this..." Markal wasn't even aware he'd said it out loud, in a voice so unlike his own.
"Easy there tiger." Casper replied with a grin. "We can't do anything until Miss Feisty over there is healed up." "Meanwhile, do you know a fugitive by the name of Jazmine? I got in-tell someone saw her around here" he asked Tolora.
Jazmine was shocked through the bones. Did they finally find me? He must not know who I am yet. She hoped to herself as she watched Tolora's worried expression.
Tolora frowned. "I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone named Jazmine around here. She might've been in that caravan filled with other girls, but they all scattered after we freed them. She could be anywhere." She lied. She wasn't going to let anyone capture or hurt Jazmine and she knew Markal would catch on to the lie and be able to work with it. He was even better at it than she was.
Markal was shocked to hear that Casper was hunting Jazmine but he was careful not to let it show. `He quickly thought back and was glad no one had said Jazmine's name while Casper was here. He didn't seem to be leaving though, so they probably had to come up with a new name for her. "Thank you for saving Tolora. I'm Markal and this is Tara." He said, nodding towards Jazmine.
Jazmine looked at Tolora and Markal with gratitude that didn't show on her face. She tried to speak but her stomach chose to growl at that exact moment. Jazmine giggled a little when her stomach growled. "Sounds like you Tolora." she said grinning.
Tolora grinned. "Only when I'm mad. We should get you something to eat though." She looked at Markal. Her own cooking skills...well, they left something to be desired. Something like being edible. Markal seemed the opposite though, he could whip up a decent meal with just a few ingredients. She watched him rummage around in his pack and pull out some dried strips of a seasoned mystery meat. Tolora took a bite out of one and realized it was deer.
Markal brought out the meat strips when he heard Jazmine's stomach growl. They weren't a gourmet meal, but they were perfect for a meal needed quick. He had several different ones; deer, rabbit, and even turtle.
"Thanks." Jazmine whispered thoughtfully as she took a big bite of one. "What are we going to do now?" she added, still chewing.
Markal laid them out in case Casper wanted one. He eyed him for a moment, wondering why he'd be looking for Jazmine. Then he looked to Tolora. She usually decided where to go next and he'd follow along with her, helping if he could.
Tolora swallowed the bit of meat she was eating and thought about Jazmine's question. They couldn't stay here, for multiple reasons, but where should they go? "Ever been to Venice? It sounds nice there." She said half to herself. She was mostly just throwing out her thoughts, open to any suggestions the others might make.
