Derek forged along, his bay Thoroughbred, Scorpio, trotting through the edge of a dark forest. It was almost midday, the hot sun beating down. Shadow and Storm's lead ropes hung loosely in Derek's hand as the horses trotted along on either side of Scorpio. A red doberman jogged ahead, looking over his shoulder every once in a while. "Demon. Heel.", Derek jumped off of Scorpio's back, leading the three horses to a nearby grove of trees with lots of grass and plants to munch on. The doberman, Demon, followed on Derek's heels.
Derek untacked his horses, relieving them of their heavy tack. He pulled off their saddle bags, laying it all out on uneven stumps. He found his raggedy brushes, quickly brushing through the stallions' manes and tail, making sure any shedding fur was off their coats. He pulled out a medium-sized canteen, letting each of the horse have a quick drink before taking it to Demon. He put the medium one away, pulling out a small canteen of his own. He took a sip with a satisfied sigh, sitting down in the shade.
He listened carefully for any sound. He had his sword laying by the stallions and Demon, shining and sharpening his dagger and ax.";

A young lady traveling in a carriage that she rented with what money she had left. After dealing with her homeland being destroyed and other things that happened to her along the way. She hoped this new kingdom that she was traveling to would be better then the last. Trying to find a new home was harder then it looked. People said there were rumors about thief and people stealing from travelers who entered this part of the forest. But right now, Rose didn't seem to care she wanted to find a home and she didn't care how she got there.
As she sat in the carriage, her eyes traveled over the dark forest. The birds weren't singing anymore. Suddenly the carriage stopped as she poked her head out from the window to see what happened. She saw several men with masks on pointing their bows and swords at the driver. Rose couldn't make out what they were saying but she knew this wasn't good.

Derek had been watching them. He stood, hefting his battle ax to his shoulder. He walked to the edge of two trees, peering at the carriage. He quickly saddled up Scorpio, whistling for Demon to follow.
Derek charged Scorpio toward the carriage. He leaped up, landing behind the carriage. He snapped, flicking his hand. Scorpio reared as if he understood, falling back into the group of men, snapping a bow or two. They scattered, flocking toward the carriage. Demon fought a man, leaping up on him and snatching an arrow from his bow. "Hand over anything valuable.", came Derek's voice from beside Rose. By now, Storm and Shadow were at Scorpio's side, slowly breaking down the carriage. They ruined any chance of it escaping. Demon now whined softly, an arrow in his side. He lay near the cart, trying to get to his feet. He wasn't small, but he wasn't huge. The arrow had nearly pierced is lung, making him work harder for each breath.
A man launched an arrow at Derek. Derek reflected the arrow with his ax, slashing at the man. When Derek looked up, the man's head was stuck to his ax. "Lucky shot...", he muttered, turning back to face Rose.

Rose turned and gasped as she looked at the man beside her. "I..I don't have anything. Everything that I use to own was back at my homeland, now burnt to the ground by now." She heard the whimper coming from outside as she was about to say something. The woman saw the arrow try and take down this man in front of her but he deflect it rather easily and killed the guy who shot the arrow. When the guy returned his attention back to her, she knew the only way out of this is to distract the guy or help. Though she wasn't much for the first choice, the second choice it was. "Listen..I know I don't have anything worth giving. But I know your dog is wounded. From the sound of it, its rather badly hurt. And if it doesn't get treated soon, the dog will slowly die." Rose waited a few seconds for the guy to understand what she was saying. "I can help."
Derek thought this over, but not for long, "Yes. Please help.", he loved Demon and didn't want to see him suffer. He got out of the carriage, walking around to Demon. He stroked the dog's head gently, the three stallions backing away impatiently.
Scorpio threw his head over Derek's shoulder, Derek hopping back on his back. Storm and Shadow stood on wither side of Scorpio, grinding their hooves as they carefully watched Rose. She was beautiful, but Derek would never admit it. He glanced at Rose, backing Scorpio away.

Not eighty yards away, Former Captain-turned-Detective Eled Lightfoot, bathed with some local nymphs in a steam pool. He beguiled them with tales of his youth. "And tha', dear lasses, is 'ow I outwitted ther king of Pandaria, and won ther contest THUS, securing me freedom!" He had ended the tale abruptly, a sound from the pathway where the caravan tussle had taken place had found it's way to Eled's sharp, elven ears.
The nymphs remained in their fascinated state, although one did pipe up, "By only cutting one of the six-headed dog's necks?"
Eled placed a finger upon her lips, "Shh, Love.It all makes sense, it does." He grinned wickedly, looking over the soft pleasantries of the nymphs' flesh. He weighed in his mind all the time it had taken today to secure such an event. He knew if he left...
But, he was Detective Eled Lightfot after all and nothing happened to him by mere coincidence. A sharp whistle, and the ferocious tiger Benny was leaping in the direction of his master, still half chewing a squirrel he'd been toying with. Eled flew expertly and silently through the trees, to find the source of the forest's disturbance.

Rose climbed out of the carriage and followed after the man and his horses. She was surprised to see how many horses this man had. The woman saw the horses eying her and also backing away from her as well. Her attention returned back to the man, "Do all these animals belong to you?" Rose was a little surprised, following behind the man, since the only people who own so many animals lived in a big house or a castle at least.
(No it's fine!)
Derek nodded, but didn't explain how he had gotten them. Of course, they had been stolen: Storm and Shadow belonging to knights, Scorpio a messenger's horse. Demon, however, had not. "Yes, they do. Shadow is the black Friesian, Storm is the grey dapple Percheron, and Scorpio is the bay Thoroughbred.", he pointed out each before climbing back off of Scorpio. He whispered something to the horse. It turned around, walking away. It responded to certain sounds. The remaining two stallions followed. "And this...", he pointed to the doberman, "is Demon." Demon's ears perked up at his name but pain flashed in his eyes.

(Yeah its cool. You didn't know )
Rose look to each animal as its names were called out. As she followed the guy, she looked at the dog who was still upon the man's back. "They seem weird names but I guess I never heard of them since I'm not from around here." She giggles softly, trying to make light humor but she knew her humor wasn't that very funny. "Um...where are we going?" This was one thing she was actually curious about since they had been walking for some time now.
(Sorry not sure if they stopped walking or not)

(He's leading them to his "camp" Sorry I didn't make that clear.)
Derek stopped a little ways away, gently laying Demon down, "I suppose.", he said, flashing Rose a small grin. He didn't know much about healing, but he did know not to pull to arrow out until you were absolutely ready. He stood back, giving Rose the room she needed. He glanced up, seeing his camp in the clearing ahead. The three stallions stood there, Scorpio rubbing his reigns against a tree. Derek rolled his eyes, turning his attention back to Rose.

(its okay ^^)
Rose walked up slowly to Demon, who was now on the ground, "Ssshh..its okay boy. Now this will hurt a little bit." She looks over to Derek, "Do you have anything that he can bite on? Cause I know it will hurt him. I'm going to take the arrow soon. Do you have anything else..like some alcohol? I need to pour it on the wound so it doesn't get infected." It seem she knew what she was doing. She hadn't been a servant at a castle and didn't learn anything while she was there.

Derek nodded, fetching a small canister of alcohol and a ripped piece of cloth from a saddle bag sitting nearby. He pushed it gently into Demon's mouth, a growl arising out of him. "It's okay.", Derek assured, handing Rose the alcohol.
He whistled, calling Shadow, Storm, and Scorpio over. He tied them all to a small tree, the three stallion happy to be near Derek again.

Rose put her hand against the dog's flesh and the other hand on the arrow. Her hand was really close to where the tip was. "Okay...here it goes." She narrowed her eyes as she yanked as hard as she could to pull the arrow out. The woman knew it was going to hurt and she even cringed a little when she heard the arrow come out. Quickly she pour the alcohol over the wound, so it wouldn't get infected. Taking the piece of cloth she and started to wrap the wound. "There..your dog shouldn't move for at least a week or two. I'll need to retreat it at least two days or less that week. Maybe more, depends on how your dog moves around." She glances over to Derek. Actually, she was glad that she was helping cause that what she always did in the castle.
Demon out a loud yelp when the arrow was pulled and a droning whine when the alcohol was poured over. He relaxed when Derek out a hand on his neck.
Derek nodded, "Thank you so much... I don't know a lot about healing. He probably would've died if it hadn't been for you.", he stroked his dog carefully. "Say... I never caught your name.", he says, standing up. "I'm Derek.", he didn't give a last name.

Rose finished patching him up then turned to face him, "I'm Lady Rosealine Starlight. You can call me Lady Rose, Rose or Lady Star or Star.." She giggled softly as she shook her head, "It doesn't matter to me." The woman stands up and looks down at the dog, "He'll be back to his old self in a couple of weeks."
Derek chuckled, "That's a lot of nicknames. I'll probably just stick with Rose.", he flashed her a quick smile. "Where were you headed?", he asked, walking into the grove of trees. When he returned he had a small wagon, pulling it behind him. He called Storm over, equipping him with his hauling tack. He attached the wagon to the Percheron's back, gently laying Demon there. He saddled up Shadow as well, repacking the saddle bags. If he could, he would help Lady Rosealine get to her destination... He had three good horses, a good amount of food, weapons... He had plenty of survival skills. He gave Rose a friendly smile, climbing onto Storm's back. The Friesian gave a snort, her ear twitching softly.
"Actually.." Rose followed after Derek as she watched him pack his stuff up and help Demon onto the wagon. "I'm just traveling. I wanna fine a new place to call home. Since my old home got burnt to the ground by bandits." She was surprised on how this man was acting towards her even after he tried to steal from her. "You don't seem like one of those type of thiefs that come and try to take your money."
Derek gave Lady Rosealine an uneasy glance, "Well, no ma'am. I don't go after money... And I usually don't steal unless I know the person deserves it. I just didn't know about you.", he didn't mean it in a bad way. He just meant he didn't know what to make of the situation... The other thieves... He shook his head, "Only other things.", he paused a moment, feeling very guilty for attacking Rose. "We could travel together if you'd like... Safety in numbers.", He shrugged, pulling Shadow to a halt.
