I was thinking about how many ways my characters from here or other websites have perished/died/ got pulled into the maw of the unliving and I became curious, how many times have other people's characters kicked the bucket and if so what is your favorites?
I know this has been done a few times on this forum, I just wanted to restart it for some fresh responses
EDIT: Realized like a total forum noob I forgot to include my character's experiences with their ends, and while most of it was not on here, it is still with the same character by the name of Garner (kind of) that follow most of these said deaths.
(Do note Garner has been through many....phases of sorts, and for simplicity sake I will call them iterations)
My first of the two notably deaths was during iteration four, when I was testing out a more villainous role.
Garner was the lead villain of the story and with the plan to build a portal that would release hell into the world he believed he made a plan impossible to fail...until it did, primarily when another character being used by another person sabotaged the portal causing it to explode, about 5 feet away from Garner who was immedieatly torn to shreds by the mix of magic energies and portal shrapnel.
Death two involves iteration six, where I solidified him being a coward who will on occasion betray his friends in order to save himself.
During a sci-fi role play where a virus that causes extreme rage and aggression to its affected was taking place the group was held up in a hallway waiting for a elevator, everyone was really tense as none of the infected had struck for a while by the point which led to Garner pushing the leader of the group onto another person before he quickly jumped on the arriving elevator and closed the doors, not noticing the infected guard who was already on it who both shot him five times and proceeded to beat him with his own ripped off arm.

My characters actually haven't died that much. Most of the games I've played haven't gone far enough for things like that to happen. That said...
Taryn has died once. I actually offered her up as "sacrifice" to a partner. He was pretty stressed from all the stuff I'd thrown at him where violence would have made things worse, and I knew he already despised her, so I arranged a situation where it would be totally okay for him to just kill her. She was messing things up in the hospital where his character's beloved was being held, and after proving that she was indeed a threat, he snapped her neck. He was a bit disconcerted when she kinda melted on him, though...
Kyra died once back in her original version (twice if you count backstory, thrice if you count the reboot backstory). That wasn't for plot though, so much as to escape a in increasingly frustrating game with a toxic set of people. She later turned up as a pretty irritable ghost in a sequel that didn't have those same toxic people, possessing the body of a sort-of descendant who, uh, was just an innocent little kid. Poor thing.
Hm... I have a robot character who... sorta? Versions of her "died," and the one that survived that whole mess was, at another point, damaged to such a degree that it took magic to fix her and she was, for a period, completely non-functional. So I guess it's sorta like she died and they managed to revive her, if that counts.
And although it wasn't a death, I have to mention a defeat that Gregor suffered. He was only intended to be an NPC, but I got attached to him, so he survived. He was trying to recapture a weapon that had been stolen - an intelligent sword that had fallen into the hands of a very large and very stupid man, though Gregor didn't know those details at the time. After the initial capture failed and a chase ensued, the man and sword disguised themselves as a clown on a pogo stick. An attempt at a "clever" combat move on my part resulted in the very large man collapsing on not-very-large Gregor, leaving him unable to pursue further with the big guy just rolled off and ran again. It was so bad, and it was so great.

Well it wasn't on this site and was years ago when I was a part of a Force Mod 3(Jedi Knight Jedi Academy Mod) RP group/forum in game and on the forum one of my characters became I believe an apprentice to a sith and well it seems my character had a change of heart I believe I named the character something stupid like Kyrlies Naiga or something or another. Regardless it turns out he changed sides or in a sense became a spy for the Jedi and/or Imperial Knights(based on the Fel Empire of Legends) and was beheaded and executed by lightsaber.
Unfortunately at the time I was attached and was immature/young at the time irl and it well made me very upset and I basically stopped Rping on JKA after that happened I just didn't know how to deal with character death in RP(still am in a way possibly).

I'm on my ninth Asami.
The original gave up her mortal body to become the Goddess.
The second through sixth were one and the same...but the sixth Asami had a planned death to save her home from a nuke...by taking it directly.
The seventh became Shiden, who sacrificed herself to save Asami's friends from the devastation that the Regenesis brought.
The eigth one lost her bod and became so corrupt, the ninth had to pick up the mess that one left when she took herself out to prevent herself from potentially hurting her own friends.
The ninth one is the most current, and could possibly survive a reboot or three.

If NPC characters count for anything, I recently had a Dwarf eaten alive by a bunch of sapient, hungry Ratmen in my Warhammer RP.
Good times...
Good times...
Tilly is new and haven't even seen proper use yet, but I know for a fact she will "die" eventually, and it will possibly be the most unique and memorable death among all my characters. She's infected with an alien parasite, that eventually will take over her system. Until then, me and my roleplay partner who play the parasite, will intermittedly and seamlessly share Tilly with every reply, until the day she lose herself to the conciousness of the parasite.
When that happens, I will pass Tilly on to them as theirs to do as they please with. I love my bad endings, but before then I expect adventure and drama in space.
