Dwarf Mine is a short classical medieval fantasy style adventure set in a small mining village. The local dwarf coalmine ran happily for twenty years, until the dwarves dug through to a diamond pipe. Lord Percival, the local landowner, agreed to pay the dwarves 50% of any diamond dug up from the mine. However rumours started going round that the diamonds caused bad luck. Unable to sell the stones for anything approaching a fair price, Percival said he would stop buying the diamonds. At which point, the dwarves, led by their chief Grimley, went on strike. After no coal had been extracted from the mine for two weeks, Percival sent Fr Akas, a low level cleric, to negotiate a settlement. The priest never returned to the surface. By now alarmed, Percival is looking for a small group with more muscle, to make contact with the dwarves and find out what has happened.

The adventure is for starting characters. Depending on how it goes, it will either terminate when the situation at the mine is resolved, or turn into an open-ended campaign. I'm looking for up to half a dozen players.

Hi Malcolm. I'd be interested in joining the party with my own cleric adept, Galiena. Perhaps she was friends with the priest and is worried for him?

(Unless we don't get enough fighter types. If that's the case, I could whip up a man-at-arms in service to Lord Percival.)

...I offer up Auren V2! He's not quite finished- I have to finish his backstory- but he's ready enough to RP. However, if you don't want any steampunk in this RP, I have a second character, Varen. He'd fill the stealthy bard role quite nicely.

Is it okay to say my cleric knows Fr Akas? He's a human, right?

Got the order mixed up a bit, but it should accomplish the same thing, right? Also, some notes:

Auren is using the 'basic' template right now, minus the fox.
Auren's dhampir advantage in physical stats is set to 1.2 times.

Yes. Fr Akas was (is?) Lord Percival's chaplain. So it's quite likely that a cleric would have heard of him at least. There's nothing in his background to suggest he might be other than he appears - he's about thirty years old, he was trained in a monastery, and left to pursue life as a secular priest. He was unsuccessful in obtaining a parish, but Lord Percival offered him a role as private chaplain. He preaches a sermon every Sunday to the Percival household. He also hears confessions of everyone except Lord Percival himself (as his employer, canon law prohibits him from hearing his confession). He is known to be a bit worldly, rather fond of his port . But no scandal attaches to him. He was chosen as a trustworthy negotiator.
