It's the 57nt year of the Second century after the Submersion. The main land is now a memory and green valleys, pastures, cities and fields have been flooded by a mysterious rise of the seas, which have left only the highest peaks in the world untouched.
To survive, the inhabitants of the world have built large floating cities, the Sky Capitals, thanks to a mysterious as great mineral, the Mithrane, light as a feather but able to generate enough energy to feed an entire city for centuries.
Over the years, however, this mineral has become scarce, and now only the largest cities are able to produce and distribute it at very high prices.
For this reason, among the many phenomena of the skies, the Air Pirates (or Skyrates, as they are called) are among them.
The world has changed, humanity and other surviving races have found new opportunities for life, and the mysteries of that great ocean of clouds await the most arrogant and indomitable adventurers... or the more crazy and ambitious.

Welcome to this attempt at RPing.
Not being very practical as a player, I decided to try this.
I'm looking for another pair of people to play with, but it's not a fixed number.
For more information, write here or send me a pm.
In the mean time, here's all that can be tell of the world's inhabitants and main factions:
° Aviable races, pros and cons:
- Humans: large in numbers, they are the base race one can choose. Moderately good in most of everything, their main skill to adapt gave them control on the majority of the Skies.
- Elves: another numerous race, the elves are known for been snobbish nobles, particulary frail but powerful with magic. Their strength lays both in magical and monetary power, and their richness is both a advantage (theirs the motto "If you can't fight 'em, buy 'em) and a great disadvantage, making them the main target of Skyrates' raids.
- Dwarves: now without mountains to live in, this shorter but hardened humanoids are the responsible for maintenance of the Sky Capitals, as long for other machines. Also, in battle they shows a hard temper, capable of guiding them with fierce. However, they tend to be close as a community.
- Orcs: for tendency, one may call a orc a "big dumb walking tank"... and on the last part it may be right. However, orcs have adapted greatly to living above the clouds, becoming by a certain extent even merchants. But their short temper and prone to fight anyone that challenge them may lead one to his fall...
- Nordlings: a fancy name for the undead creatures of the far Northern Skies, where even the sea has been transformed into jagged ice. The reason once may take them is their almost impossibility to die, as long for been restless combatant, but except for the mightiest ones, they are slow, monosyllabic rotting corpses that revolves on number, rather then true might.
° Factions:
- Enclave of the Grand Eastern Skies: One of the major and oldest forces of the New Horizons, this faction of skilled pilots and explorers is well known for their tactics, quick ships and a strong sense of honor. The main city of the Enclave is Uenotsuki no jiin, the Temple of the Rising Moon. When one join the Enclave, is expected he or she follow strict rules, and by that, honor the traditions of the Lower Word.
- Free people of the Southern Winds: A rather new force of the skies, this group of people were not even a century ago a bunch of raging, disorganized gangs of smugglers, criminals and merchants.
However, after the Great Storm, they all had to join forces, building a new way of commerce and protection, both for themselves and for who was willing to pay.
This faction don't care what you pray, like or think, it only care you don't take problems to the main city, Umsaba, or the rest of the minor settlements.
- Grand alliance of the West Clouds: Second by numbers with the Enclave, but first for firepower and technology.
The Grand Alliance formed after a short civil war in the main city, Thornwood. After that event, its many citizens united for making this faction the greatest of all.
However, the strict rules, the never fully cooperative and social people of the cities and a diffident behavior of the citizens makes this a bit problematic for new comers. However, the services are far better then the rest of the factions.
- Grand Kingdom of the Northern Winds: Brutal, skilled warriors and hardened captains makes this faction a treat for whoever wants to fight them.
Not much things are known of this faction, except their ships are by far the largest present in the skies, and their capital, Eisenrot, is a impenetrable floating fortress.
- Skyrats: a small gang of Skyrates, leaded by a orc. They're not organized, they're free and they only want to hoard as much gold and Mithrane for themselves.
However, like rats, their strong point is the number: their whole fleet cound over 400 single skyrates, with 7/8 for ship.
- Thousands Fleets of Fligg: it's not sure if the ships are really a thousand... or slightly more then 200, the point is that this grand gang of skyrates have terrorized the Eastern and Northern skies for the last 9 years.
Their captain, Fligg, is known for his commanding skill, as long for been a charismatic man. As a past citizen of the Enclave, the fleet honor their foes with great respect.
° Available magic:
- Elemental: the basic form of magic, one can control the powers of fire, water, earth and wind. However, been already capable of having the power to manipulate one of this element is hard: whatever a character is blessed by it, controlling the element is another story. Many are the tales of mages that succumbed to their own powers, so be aware that one doesn't become unstoppable.
- Umbramancy, Necromancy and Emomancy: the so called Forbidden Trinity, this magic's blasphemous origin took roots far beyond the Submersion. Governing on of this is a task far harder then simple elemental magic: umbramancy is the power to control the dark, the shadows and by an extent even someone.
Necormancy, as is well known, is the power to rise and command the dead, but is also used for divination and consult of the spirits. It is practiced freely in the Enclave, but only for listening to the Ancestors' advises.
And lastly, Emomancy is by far the filthest, hatred and vilest of them all: the power to control blood, creating miasmas of storming death from the littlest of the bruises.
It was practiced once by a clan of presumed "vampires", even if in truth they were just plagued by a degradating form of porphiria.
- Mystic: a rather rare and mysterious form of magic, it's said that only the scholars of Thornwood practice this. The true key to control and bend the universe at one's will, the ability to invoke powers far beyond one's compreension.
A power so great but to dangerous that already took the lifes of many.
Personally, I think few may use this without having consequnces, may be it madness, may it be near death.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Renaissance
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.
This sounds exactly like what I have been looking for!
Can you pm me some setting details so I can make a great character for this rp?

Sure, just a second.
Thing I forgot to mention: the character can join one of the following factions.

° Frozers: None known their origins, none survive this undead fleets of unbound monsters.
However, who joins this bunch of smelly corpses is gifted with undead... with the price of been tormented by a chilling cold in its bones.

I would like to join this. (This is also what I am looking for) Can I join you?
This looks like an amazing setting! It'd be nice to join, if I am not too late
Sounds fine, come aboard then.
Gonna open the IC part.
Ok, click here to take part.
Be sure first to present your characters here, just to better know first who they are.
I was thinking of a mission that involves a large cargo of Mithrane and Fligg.
If someone (even those that arrives now) have ideas, just share them.

Also, don't forget in what faction your character is.
In case you want to play without inside a faction, just tell he or she is a "wanderer".

Hey, I'm fairly new to RP and was interested, also, are there a fixed set of races or can we create custom ones? and I could also make a discord group for the rp so it can be more organized.
Edit to anyone who will pass here: I'm gonna add immediatelly the list of aviable races/factions. In case you need more answers, send me a pm and I'll answer as quicker as I can.
