Cielle got up with the help of Ace and rubbed her head. Her back was hurting but she could manage. She dusted herself off with her hands and looked up at Ace.
"Thank--" She began to say but her sentence was cut short when she heard footsteps coming their way. She froze, listening closely. There were a lot of footstep sounds. Hundreds, thousands, Cielle couldn't decide but knew they had to get away, fast.
Cielle reached out and grabbed Ace's wrist, preparing to run away and drag him along with her.

As Ace was being dragged by Cielle, he could see from the distance hundreds of zombies running towards them as if they were elephants in a stampede. Seeing this made Ace start to drag Cielle through the alleys and around the buildings not forgetting the zombies will search this entire area until they find food.
Ace had lived alone in the city for years making camp in various spots and using over time when ever he was near one, "If I'm right, there should be an apartment building with a red fire escape right around this corner!!" he said turning the street corner seeing his hideout.
Ace opens the door to the apartment building throwing Cielle in shutting it behind him, he didn't want to make a move to the apartment until the zombies pass.

Cielle looked curiously around the apartment while standing frozen then traced her eyes back at Ace. She's never been in any other building other then her own apartment and a few grocery stores.
It might be awhile until all the zombies past since there was hundreds of them out there. So, Cielle slowed her breathing from having to run outside and continued looking at Ace. "Are you hurt anywhere? I mean from earlier..." She asked rather shyly. She was still getting use to talking to another human since she hasn't for so long.

"I'm fine" he said peaking through the broken glass window of the door, only a few zombies know and again ran by enough that they could make a move up stairs to the apartment. "Alright lets head up stairs, just keep quite" he said leading the way up stairs, he walked up to the fourth floor stopping at the last door at the end of the hallway bending down to getting the key from under the doormat and letting themselves in.
The apartment was in good condition like many in the city mainly because, so many people left in a hurry trying to get out of the city never coming back. "Make yourself at home steer clear of the windows...hows your back?" he said looking at it.

Cielle stared at the room she barely even noticed he asked a question. "U-uh...It's fine. I'll just need some stitching up.." She said and then blushed at the thought. "..But I can wait! It's fine..." She said, immediatly taking back what she said before. Her back was in a lot of pain, but she'll have to deal with it for now.
Cielle continued examining the apartment room with her eyes. It was different being in another apartment other then her own...but she kind of liked the feeling.

Ace drops the bag of fruit on the coffee table in the living room falling on the couch soon after feeling on the ache in his arms and legs from holding that zombie back earlier, "That zombie did a hell of a number on my muscles" he said.
Ace couldn't remember the last time he had a conversation with someone, he never knew that he even wanted to talk to someone dealing with everything in his life. "So where were you when the world went to hell?"

Cielle walked over slowly to the couch across from Ace. She sat down and folded her hands in her lap.
"I was hiding in the basement of my house." She began to explain, "I was in the basement at the time the zombies started to come to our house. Unfortunately, My family was upstairs at the time which they got killed quickly. I remained downstairs, hiding in a closet until I suspected they were gone. I went back upstairs and realized....I was alone." She finished explaining and looked at him. "..Where were you?"

"Me?" Ace said putting his foot on the coffee table "I was in chinatown hustling for my next meal, I had won more then enough to for food, even to for a one night stay and trump towers until...a women walked in on the game and started eating everyone". He looks at four identical scars on his leg going down to his ankle, "The only reason I didn't die that day was because I hid under all the dead bodies for about half a day".
"I'm sorry to hear about your family, must have been hard to go on without them"
"I'm sorry to hear about your family, must have been hard to go on without them"
Cielle listened closely. "No it's fine, I got use to being alone all these years." She said as she rubbed her head with her hand.
"Whatever happened to your family? Do you know?" She asked quietly
"Whatever happened to your family? Do you know?" She asked quietly
"Don't remember much of my family, my old man ran out on me and my mother when I was 10, soon after my mother was drunk every night I ran away when I was 12, couldn't take seeing her like that". This was the first time Ace had open up to anyone even before the zombies came, it took someone special for him to do that. He looks over to Cielle eying her up and down.
Ace reaches over to the table grabbing a pair throwing it to Cielle then grabbing one for himself "So where you've been living?"

Cielle caught the pear but just kept it in her lap. She looked down, eyeing her pear.
"I've just been living in an apartment much like this one but smaller." She said while she poked her pear. "Where have you been staying?"

Ace takes a bite of the pear, tasting the grim yet still edible flavor.
"Well like this place I have sites almost all over the city, but I live on the west side near the river, never know when you'll needed a quick get away" he said looking towards Cielle.

She nodded and set the pear she didn't eat down on the coffee table gently. She stood up and stretched then walked over to a window. She stopped and looked down out the window to only see a couple zombies. It should be safe to go outside now but Cielle didn't want to take her chances
Ace lays down on the couch after Cielle got up, he hadn't had a goodnight sleep in almost a week, constantly week up in the middle of the night afraid what could be coming after him. Ace begins to doze off with his gun in his right hand, just before he completely falls asleep clicking starts to go through his ears.
Ace jumps up looking out the window next to Cielle,"Echo's" he said whispering "Son of a bitch".

Cielle snapped her head around to look at Ace. "W-What?" She questioned.
"Echo's" he said still whispering making sure that don't hear him "Keep your voice down, you've never seen them because there always on the west side for some reason". Nate could see a couple of Echo's searching around looking for any and all noise, there face replaced by giant bat ears not including there mouths with the sharp like teeth.
"Echo's are just like you your normal zombie with two big difference, they can hear the slightest sound for a couple hundred yards and immediately pin point its location" he whispered keeping his eyes on the Echo's "And they communicate believe it or not, with clicking noises like dolphins...it would actually bee amazing if it was so terrifying"

Cielle listened to him as she remained quiet, watching the Echos outside the window. "They sure do look....different." She whispered quietly.
Sypher rested on a bed in a dark-green hoody with a crowbar held tightly in his hands as he listened in silence. He woke to the sound of a door opening in the hallway just outside the door he had picked the lock to, he was listening now to two voices, a boy and a girl. What he rested with his back to the mattress and his overstuffed backpack at his side. Unsure of how the two would react to him he had drawn his crowbar from his pack and listened as well as he could to the muffled voices until they went quiet, to quiet to hear them through the wall. His attention was taken away from attempting to hear them by a faint clicking sound from outside, confused, he simply rested on the bed with his crowbar in hand waiting for something to happen.
Cielle listened to the clicking sounds from outside as she sighed heavily. The clicking noises weren't exactly pleasant and she had no idea how she was going to get to sleep. Cielle had never seen an "Echo" before, rather then a bunch of them.
She knew there was a window outside in the hallway. She thought she could go get a better look, just for a second. She turned around from the window and walked quietly up to the door, turning the knob ever so quietly. She stepped out of the room and shut the door behind her but left it a little open so she could come back without a fuss of getting the door open. She began walking down the hallway slowly to the hallway window to get a better view.

Sypher quietly rolled off the bed and slid his pack onto his back as he started for the door. He pulled away just before he could open it as the door to the room next to him opened and he could hear somebody walking down the hall. slowly he opened the door and peaked his hooded head out the doorway but came to a stop as the door creaked on its hinges leaving him frozen in fear and wonder at if she could hear the door so he simply decided to do one thing," hi." he whispered as he stood in the door way.
