This Looking For RP topic is marked as closed, meaning it is no longer seeking new players.
Welcome, space cadet, aboard the SC Ark Royal. We are pleased to have you apart of the crew. You all have completed extensive training, and now, that hard work is being rewarded.
Your time with aboard the SC Ark Royal is not just for fun and games. Your missions are important. As you know, 670 years ago, the Andromeda and Milky Way merged into one, creating a whole new galaxy to explore. Even being 345 years AM (After Merge), our new world is still quite unknown to us. As a member of the SC Ark Royal, your job is to explore the galaxy and deliver your findings to Station Artemis quarterly.
More will be included within your cubes. You will be meeting your Captain shortly. May your journey prove bountiful.
I'm looking at this as a sort of Star Trek/Star Wars sort of thing. I have some lore in mind, where we can bring in intergalactic politics, space battles - you name it, it's probably going to be in here if you've seen it in something sci-fi-y. And please, I am always open to ideas! Throw them at me! And don't hesitate to ask questions!
This can be a 1x1 or a group rp...I wrote this like it is a group, and would prefer it that way, but can (and will!) do one on ones if there's not a whole lot of interest. And long term would be awesome! Having never posted in the Looking for Rp forum, I'm not sure if I'm asking too much...I've seen many larger Rps die off after a while, and it always makes me sad. But if it's not possible to keep it afloat for a long time, I understand.
I would prefer literate players. I'm not asking you to be perfect; we all make mistakes. Misspellings aren't the end of the world, nor an occasional comma in a place where it shouldn't be. Posts may vary in length, but please, no one liners. A paragraph or two at the least. (Hope I'm not asking too much!)
Now, if you're still with me, for the fun part! Aliens, robots, the works - ALL WELCOME, ESPECIALLY YOUR OWN IDEAS! The more diverse we are, the better! And you are more than welcome to play more than one character if you are able to keep up with it!
I will be playing Vail Iotta as captain of the ship. Other jobs (such as technician, scientist, doctor - it's honestly up to you) can be chosen by you for your character. Though having tons of second in commands, or gunners, or whatnot can be too much, so I'll let you know if we've still got room for certain jobs!
Please, post here or PM/DM me if you are interested or have any questions! Looking forward to exploring the galaxy with you!
(Oh dear lord, was that ending too cheesy?)

On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
Far future, perhaps interstellar travel (faster than light)
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.
I'm willing.
I haven't used this character much, but his name is James Alexander Farrell, and he's a kind of brainy guy, as opposed to my other male characters who are all alpha males. But Farrell is a brainy beta male, yet with no absence of loyalty and valor when it is called for. The valor just doesn't come from bravado, it comes from careful deliberation and conviction. If he decides, after careful deliberation, that a cause is worth fighting for, he will fight and die for it, but not because he is tough and brave (he is simply average in those categories), but because he has decided that it is a sacrifice worth making. Kind of like Spock, in The Wrath of Khan (1982), with his "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...or the one," line, when he was dying of radiation poisoning to save his crewmates. *Tears* Compared to Captain Kirk, who would have probably said something more like, "Those bastards won't get my ship, damnit! They won't touch my crew!" and thrown himself headlong into whatever precarious situation was required to save everybody!
*Sigh* Alpha males. You've got to love them. At least I do. Captain Kirk, Commander Riker, Lietenant Worf. Ooooor....Han Solo, Indiana Jones, King Aragorn (I think?), Wolverine (for sure!), Magneto (fo' sho'!).
But my character here is not an alpha male. He's a noble beta male. He's a Picard, he's a Spock. He's a Legolas (I think? Or maybe Legolas was an alpha), he's a...I don't know Star Wars well enough to say if Luke was a beta or alpha male, but I know that Han Solo's alphaness outshone his, or perhaps, a Professor X, but not such a natural leader.
James Alexander Farrell is a follower, not a leader, but he is a follower with convictions, a fair amount of integrity, and valor. He's a thinker. He's a specialist. A scientist. Let's make him an astrophysicist. Yes, an astrophysicist. And not to say he's not a masculine character, he's just to himself and understated. Not an alpha male. Doesn't open up easily. Decides things only after great thought, but once he decides them, cannot easily be persuaded otherwise. Someone that relies on facts and figures. But someone that cares, when he let's himself. For a cause. Or a person. He is someone that thinks clinically yet loves deeply. The paradox of this character.
How does that sound? James Alexander Farrell, astrophysicist.
((Wow I had no idea this character was so deep until now))

I love him! Welcome aboard, James! Or Alexander, or Alex, or whatever he likes to be called, haha!
I think Aragorn was an alpha male, just a little subdued. And my sweet husband Legolas...I see him as the beauty of the group. He was more of a very naive beta, unless we're talking Hobbit Legolas, and then he's alpha...
Thanks for clearing that up.
Lol @ "my sweet husband Legolas" ah he was a beta. I thought so. Did not know there was a hobbit Legolas, so...yeah.
Lietenant Farrell (if the ranks are naval ranks, like in STAR TREK the best science fiction show of all time ), or just James, will do fine thank you, Captain. *salutes*

Ah...well, the Federation values diplomacy with all fandoms over battle so in the interests of peace I will agree to disagree. We still want yoda, though. I can guarantee he will not be harmed. We just need him to take care of some Romulans...
Later folks..

Ok now I have to get off and go kill some fast food for dinner or I will be in the doghouse for being glued to my phone again all night. Hasta luego Mon Capitan. *Tips hat*
If possible, I could do two characters, or one if you don't like one or the other. I have Xroepralh, the shy alien tech girl, and I have Faro Di'Tar. And alien merchant/scout operative (neither one is really developed right now. This could also make an amazing group if you wanted... Or maybe that's what this is an I'm an idiot.
I could possibly throw in Siria Mastuli. Only if you want to though.
I'd love to join in! Just made a post about looking for this kind of RP earlier today, actually. If you're willing to accept original concept aliens, how about my Cchaaneh? We can hand-wave away my stuff about their species' empire if it doesn't fit your lore concepts. Cchaaneh is a new character based on scraps of a couple of old concepts and stuffed into my original species, so I've not got the firmest grasp on their character yet, but the best way to obtain that is through experience, I feel. They're a xenosociologist. Technically they're still a student, but they're traveling the galaxy in order to gather research through first-hand experience, possibly taking a break from their education to do so, so I think joining a ship's crew would work for them.
Hellooo~
I‘d be using Tardis- she knows how to have authority when need be, although would be very kind to the other crewmates. That is, unless they underestimate her intelligence or strength. Then you‘ll have some problems, especially if it is repeated. Although, it could be where she and someone else never got along. Be it competing, sabotaging, or just plain bickering.

I‘ll shut up now.

I would love to join! I'd use an altered version of Aimee, cut down on some of vampiric stuff and alien-flavor her sanguine tastes, and I even have workarounds for dealing with her sunlight allergy, which could make some 'episodes' decidedly interesting for her.
I hope to hear back from you! If you'd like to help me hash out reasonings, her rate and rank and so forth, send me a message! It should be noted that I am particularly well versed in the way rates, ranks and jobs work aboard naval vessels (I'm the daughter of a USN sailor IRL) so feel free to throw any questions you have in my direction. Thank you.

I wasn't sure this would be big enough to make a group, but it's getting a lot of interest....I may very well do so! It would make it easier for me to come up with lore and others to work one one one if they wanted... You are more than welcome to play two characters! Looking forward to writing with you!
