"Lieutenant," he smiled softly, "I'll be promoted after my next battle."

Valentina, in turn, wasn't smiling. "When is your next battle?"

"Whenever I'm needed," he sighed sadly, "But I doubt it will be soon," he smiled again, "And if it is, I'm going to be spending as much time with you as I can now."

She nodded and smiled at him. "On to.. Happier matters?"

"The feast," he grinned and led her outside to a brown, spotted stallion. He mounted the horse, which was already saddled, and reached a hand down to help Valentina up.

"O=Oh. I've never rode before." She looked up at him, seemingly intimidated and frightened by the beast. "Plese don't laugh."

"Of course not," he smiled and pulled her up right behind him, "I'll go slow," he assured her and started the stallion off at a mere walk.

Valentina clutched to him, holding on to him tightly. "How do you control it?"

"Reigns," he smiled and lifted the tethers attached to a bit in its mouth to show her. The horse responded even to this little movement and slowed further. Galeo then flicked his wrists slightly and the stallion sped up again.

Valentina clung to him, burying her face in his back. She felt his muscles flex underneath her, calming down a bit, she rested against him. "Hey, Galeo?" She asked softly. "Are you happy?"

He immediately smiled and nodded, "Of course I am. I have a new home, a new life, and a new wife who is as beautiful in personality as she is in appearance," he chuckled.

She gave him another hug upon hearing his words. "Thank you.."

He blushed a bit and smiled back at her, "Are you happy?"

"I think so. I'm a bit scared, leaving everything behind, but I think it will be okay." She replied honestly.

"That's all fine. I hope you become happier as time goes on," he said calmly as they entered the market. People parted briefly for the horse then immediately filled the space again.
