She smiled giving a nod. "Thanks its not done yet though." She closed the book and laid it beside her placing the pencil on top. "How did you get the job at the school staying afterwards and stuff? Wouldn't they make you attend?"
"I'm just an assistant. I have an education from... A long time ago I attended Harvard. Besides, I work for free."
Aylexia frowned, "That's not fair. Wish I could just drop out." She said glancing away. "Don't fit in anyways."
"Bet it was easier then though. Did you have any friends?"
"Not really. I moved around alot with my family. If we stayed in one place too long, people'd get suspicious, then start saying stuff about how we sold our souls to the devil. We're just werewolves."
"Oh.." Aylexia lowered her head. "I'm sorry, must of been hard." She said in a whisper. "I never knew my family." She said raising a hand to rub her eye as if something was in it.
"Huh?" She raised her head catching him looking at her. "Oh, uh.. just tired I guess.." She seemed scrambled.
He smiled comfortingly and put his arm over her shoulder, pulling her close.
Aylexia cheeks blushed lightly then a yawn escaped her lips as she leaned against him. "I haven't been able to sleep well.. keep having nightmares." She mumbled softly
"Well maybe all you need is a friend nearby to fix that," he said softly and gently stroked the back of her head.
"Maybe... Never really had anyone who wanted to be my friend." She smiled trying to keep her eyes open.
"How long have we known each other now?" he chuckled, "Doesn't matter. I'm your friend," he said reassuringly and gave her a gentle squeeze.
"A day maybe?" She laughed then giving a lightly nod. "That's good hehe." Her lips curled into a soft smile as she closed her eyes finally.
"I'm not a baby you know." She chuckled lightly yawning again. "Plus I don't need to fall sleep.. not here."
"I- I guess not." She whispered. After a few minutes she fell soundly asleep.
He smiled and gently scooped her up then carried her back to his apartment and set her in her bed then went to his room and fell asleep too.
