The lights dim down and I have finally got a chance to take a break from this. The recipe makes no sense! The sickness that has broken out is a terrible and fatal one. How it started, no one knows. I have been hired to find the cure, to save the people. Everyday hundreds are dying, and the recipe to cure this hell is a riddle that I do not understand... The guilt of all of those lives pressure me. The library is clear of illness since they need me alive, but going outside, I have to wear a plague mask and a black robe to keep from contracting this sickness. I climb the shelves and read a book about illnesses and the history of them. I read the whole book, cover to back cover. Nothing helped, but I get the feeling nothing will help these people. The Count told me something that has been stuck in my head for the last week, "If you don't find the cure, then I myself will burn this kingdom down." I shudder and sit up, my ear twitches as a fly buzzes around. I sigh and jump down. I grab another book and find a key in it. It looked very old and rusted and it has a red ribbon tied to the end of it. I look at it curiously and feel the indent on it. Then, as I am flipping through pages, I find a note. It looks slightly burned, I unfold it and it reads, 'One door opens, another door closes. The count has red roses, that strike deadly poses'. I frown a little. I get the first part, this key obviously opens a hidden door, but the last part confuses me. I stick the note in the tight part of my shorts and walk around, looking for a hidden entrance or a door that I could not see. I light the area with a light casted in my hand. I feel the walls but find nothing.
After an hour, I still found nothing. A spider had fallen on my shoulder unknowingly but I feel the tickle. I look down and see a black widow crawling around. I scream and smash it repeatedly, the first time it gave a small crunch. Still shacking, I wipe the guts off of me and destroy the web. I turn on all of the lights in here with the snap of my finger and yawn. Today was another long day with no information.
