And they would soon take off, reaching the atmosphere and slipspacing away, the enemy was too busy to deal with the aircraft and so they would finally reach the darkwolf homeworld, Ember put in the proper clearance codes and explained Their situation, ember would look towards the others "HIghcom wants us to explain what we saw..." Ember would soon enter the atmosphere and land near the capitol building, They would walk in, and several Darkwolves were seen sitting in chairs in front of a circular table, Without saying a word ember would put the datasheet he stole on the table "And we have more evidence where that came from.... Squatter, can you come here?"

ORIN - While the craft pointed its nose to the sky, they flew higher and higher, eventually reaching the atmosphere. A couple of beeps announced that they were now living on the ridiculously large large oxygen reserve, and that it would run out of air in approximately three weeks.
Orin shuffled up to Zaide's seat and grabbed the armrest. He wanted to address the issue that had been bothering him ever since they left the Spire: whether they would leave the army after this mission was completed or not. After all, they were mercenaries, and they had the right to leave the army after they got paid. Most of their colleagues did. Mercenaries never grew close to the people they served. Now, Orin hadn't exactly 'grown close' to Kamura, but he knew as well as Zaide did that even a creature so capable couldn't fight this war on his own.
They were spec-ops, the kind of soldier that wouldn't leave his Commander's side, even if it meant that he had to walk through fire and toxic mist. Loyalty, bravery and determination were words to live by in this company. And-..

ZAIDE - "Yeah, I know what you're thinking," Zaide interrupted his lingering brother. He didn't even bother looking at him. "And no, I'm convinced we won't leave these people any time soon. I'm not saying they need us, but it would be polite to side with them until this damned war is over." Orin nodded and slowly crawled back into his seat.
Zaide sighed. He wasn't a man of many morals, but if there were anything he found repulsing, it were disloyal people. Hell, the two of them swore an oath right after enlisting, and despite his hatred for those kind of cheesy things, Zaide was impressed by the sternness and sincerity of the local officers.
The Darkwolves needed them.

SQUATTER - "Highcom wants us to explain what we saw..." the black Darkwolf spoke as entered the atmosphere of the Darkwolf homeworld. Squatter grunted with relief when she saw the familiar buildings of the capital again, and couldn't help but smile. Home sweet home. Too bad no-one would recognize her.
She grew a little colder. She truly wondered if her own mother would recognize her if she was ever allowed to go back home. To their cozy, cheap apartment in the outer rim. Where her bronze-furred dad smoked strong cinders* and her little brother would throw rocks at the neighbors pesky pet. And where her mom-..
Suddenly, they landed. Squatter shook her massive head and still a little bewildered, she followed her non-mutated companions to a large, import-looking building in the middle of the political district. Oh dear. They weren't going in there, now were they? Squatter wasn't really fond of politicians or the law. She liked to break the rules when she was younger. Back when her name was still Scallyion.

"And we have more evidence where that came from.... Squatter, can you come here?" the black Darkwolf said. Squatter shivered and looked at Zaide for a second, who seemed rather bored. Then, she slowly walked into the council chamber, her eyes shifting from face to face, but she couldn't recognize any of the stern Darkwolves.
Some big deals they were.
The mutated female Darkwolf sat down in front of the circular table and turned her massive brass-colored head to the black male. Now what?

(( * Cinders are cigarettes from the Lycandros homeworld, but thanks to its popularity, it has been imported to various other planets as well ))

The high command were shocked "They've been doing this for god knows how long, this one isn't brainwashed like the others, They simply didn't get to it," Ember would show them the dataoad, the talks would last quite a while, before it finally ended, They were ordered to go to frostfall, with squatter in their tean, Ember would slowly walk out onto the pad with the others, ember would slowly walk into a new ship, it was large and had quarters and accommodations, "You guys make yourselves at home... " Said ember "Briefing in 5" Ember would slowly move his paw to pet Squatters head,

SQUATTER - Carefully scratching the chemical rash behind her left ear, Squatter patiently listened to the important wolves and their discussion with the black male. They used fancy words she had never heard of and talked about things that were too classified for her to hear. But there she was, attending one of the most important military counsel meetings, absorbing all kinds of juicy information, word by word.
Little did these chaps know that Squatter, or Scallyion, used to be an actual squatter in her day. She was the leader of an informal faction who looked after the poor and homeless, but helped out thieves and junkies too. It was her duty to squat abandoned buildings and keep the patrolwolves off her tail while doing so. Before she got captured by a Separatist Squadron during one of her getaways, she was a purebred troublemaker.
But as long as no-one found out, she was safe. After all, those Separatist bastards faked her death and as far as the capital's law knew, Scallyion the Squatter was no more.

ORIN - When Kamura and the abomination returned, Orin's legs had grown stiff after waiting so long. But as his Commander announced that they next mission would take them to Frostfall, enthusiasm and thrill began to course through his veins. Frostfall. A harsh, inhospitable planet plagued by blizzards and extreme cold. But if his datapads were right, it was a planet of mysteries too. Rumor was that a lot of priceless treasures and artifacts were hidden under the ice, left behind by the extinct lupine species that used to inhabit the planet; the giant and mighty Frostfall Dires.
The four lupines headed towards the hangar, were a large, sturdy starship was waiting for them. Orin smiled in good spirits when he examined the ship, and even though he couldn't recognize the type or model, he assumed that this pretty craft was brand new and battle-worthy. How exciting!

ZAIDE - "You guys make yourselves at home," Commander Kamura said as they entered the ship. Zaide looked at Squatter for a moment, who cocked her head a little before walking past him towards one of the larger rooms. He followed her around for a bit, then turned left and opened the door to his own quarters.
And quite a decent room it was! Zaide couldn't help but smirk a little when a fresh and clean room ogled at him. He set his backpack next to his bed and pressed his muzzle against the laundered sheets. Hmm, it had been four years since he actually enjoyed some comfort. And how heavenly his naps would be on this flexible clean mattress!
"Briefing in 5." Oh, right. Maybe he was a little curious about Frostfall after all. Zaide tucked his rifle into his locker and headed to Room 5, which was roomier than he had expected at first. The dark furred Lycandros settled down in a seat and sat back a bit, waiting for the rest of the team to arrive.

Ember would slowly walk to the meeting table, sitting down in his seat "So...…" ember would set a small Holo-Doccument on the table "Our orders are simple.... We areto go to frostfall and Meet with Friendly darkwolf forces at the planetary blockade, from that point we will assault an enemy spire where we believe they are engaged in some form of... Research program" Ember would slowly turn on a Holo-Board, pointing to a picture of the planet "Average temperature is below freezing, Making it an ideal location for an ice base" Ember would slowly type in the coordinates to the planet "If anyone is unaware of the operation... Feel free to inform them"

ZAIDE - "Our orders are simple.... We are to go to Frostfall and meet with friendly Darkwolf forces at the planetary blockade, from that point we will assault an enemy spire where we believe they are engaged in some form of... research program." Great All-Father... not again. Who knew what kind of wicked things this 'research program' involved this time. Zaide looked at the Holo-Document, that just spat out a 'gram of Frostfall, hovering above the table with a cyanotic hue. "Average temperature is below freezing, making it an ideal location for an ice base." As much as Orin hated cold and harsh environments, Zaide loved them. Of course, this wasn't a peaceful suburb with crisp and fresh air - unstained by the smog downtown -, but a snowball that actively tried to kill them. "If anyone is unaware of the operation... feel free to inform them."
Now that the briefing had ended, Zaide got up from his seat and stretched his long, muscled arms for a bit, then walking off towards the quarters that Squatter had called home, if his nose told him correctly. She was either to shy or to confused to attend a military briefing, so he would explain their mission to her in his own words.

SQUATTER - Those mortal rooms were rubbish! With a head furrowing with frustration, Squatter pulled the bouncy but narrow mattress from the box bed and dropped it at her feet, looking at it with pale red eyes glowing with annoyance. How was she going to sleep comfortably, like those other brats?
Her desperate attempt to create a mutant-fitting bed was interrupted when Zaide entered her room - without knocking, damn it! - and sat down on her empty bed, not even surprised by the mess she'd made. His eyes still had that stoic, manly shimmering to it, like when they teamed up. It had never changed since then, but before they pressed their paws against each other, she'd seen something different.
Something angrier, yet broken. Maybe if she stayed around for a little longer, she would eventually find out what had happened to the guy, but judging from his cold radiance, that wasn't going to happen any time soon.

ORIN - Tsah, Zaide and his pet-mutant. While Orin took a stroll down the hallway to check out the caboose and the food in it, he fantasized about Squatter's mortal looks. For all he knew, she could've been a dirty, fat old hag before she was turned into a monster, and as soon as the beast became a princess again, Zaide would be gravely disappointing and never touch a female again.
Now, Orin wasn't a real ladykiller either, but acting confident and friendly had almost led a lady into his arms. His job as mercenary, however, scared most of them off. He was too busy and too dangerous to look after them. Orin shrugged and turned left. But he didn't want those kind of girls, really. If he were to pledge his loyalty and love to someone one day, he wanted a she-wolf to cherish and adore, not just for.. well, the intimate stuff.
The light gray Lycandros opened the door to the kitchen and saw a young, rusty-furred boy standing behind the counter-top, chopping some brass-colored tubers into spicy bits. He did hope they had some meat on the menu. Despite that most lupine species had added vegetables to their meals to fill them up, Orin still preferred to stuff his stomach the old way.
After inspecting the anxious Darkwolf, he turned to the window at the end of the large combined kitchen-and-cafetaria, where the Darkwolf Homeplanet was still to be seen. A beautiful planet, not as wicked and dirty as the one the Lycandros called home. But still, it was home.

The ship would soon jump to slipspace, and they would soon fly to Frostfall, it was cold even with fur, a quinterran (Anthro arctic fox) would greet them on the pad, ember would step forward slowly, his armour changing color to arctic camo "Sind Sie Ember Kamura?" The quinterran would say in german "Affirmitiv, ich bin mit dem Dunkel Wolf-Reich" Ember would reply in the same language, the wolves would slowly walk down the spaceport, the quinterran talking with Ember translating for the others "They're under attack a few miles from here, Enemy has a new weapon" They would go out to the garage where a large APC was parked, ember would slowly hop inside, waiting for the others

((Sind Sie Ember Kamura?= Are you ember kamura? "Affirmitiv, ich bin mit dem Dunkel Wolf-Reich"= Affirmitive, I'm with the darkwolf empire." It's all in german))

ORIN - When they slipped out of their dimension-crossing shortcut, a large, icy ball of freezing barrenness emerged at the end of the glowing tunnel. Orin turned to the kitchen boy for a moment and smiled, showing his shorter but much larger Lycandros teeth. The Lupine Apex, as they called themselves so proudly, were one of the last species that came into contact with the Darkwolf Empire, and thanks to the Burncrag Treaty, they were one of the few planets who could still enjoy their independence.
A voice over the speaker announced that their ship was approaching Frostfall, and even thought their landing would be delayed for five minutes due to heavy blizzards in the stratosphere, it would just be a matter of time until they would hit the surface. Time to move out then. The grayish Lycandros wiped some imaginary dust off his shoulder and turned around, heading to his personal quarters to retrieve some of his gear.

SQUATTER - She spend most of her time following Zaide around, basking in the perfect silence the two of them produced, barely speaking. If they needed to interact that badly, they kept it short, with simple nods and gestures. Exactly how Squatter wanted it to be. Since she'd lost her ability to speak, she preferred if the others kept their mouth shut too, so that she wouldn't be bossed around like a pet without even being given the chance to obstruct. Because deep down, she was still Scallyion the Squatter, a Darkwolf who hated authority and rules.
"I need you to stay at the ship, Miss Squatter." And so it began. The mutated she-wolf grunted at the velox official that just gave her the order, but the sleazy, lean canine kept his face stoic and cold. "Yes, that's an order. Return to your quarters and await further instructions."
She and Zaide exchanged a slightly disappointed glare, hers filled with frustration and his with bitterness. Meanwhile, the ship had landed on Frostfall and a crisp breeze had infiltrated the ship now that they had opened the blast doors for a bit. The dark furred Lycandros nodded at his friend, put his helmet on - a Darkwolven model, so he had to flatten his ears and smooth out his mane in order for it to fit -, and greeted her with the simple but powerful words: "Welcome to the legion, kid."

ZAIDE - A Quinterran in grayish camo gave them the semi-warm welcome they deserved. Zaide strapped his rifle, coated in a water-resistant substance around the brittle bits, to the belt around his shoulders and pulled his short woolen cloak closer to his throat.
Fifteen canine figures walked through the hangar on that early evening: four Frostfall troopers, Ember Kamura, Orin, himself and eight other unknown soldiers, officials and spec-ops who he had never seen before. Zaide decided to stay away from the Velox, as he was disgusted by the tone he'd used on Squatter, and ended up walking next to a younger Quinterran from the local forces.
The guy was smoking a Red Charcoal-brand cinder, inhaling its spicy smoke like some kind of experienced smoker, but his innocent, hell, almost adorable coughs showed that he was anything but.
"Hast du noch mehr.. Asche.. für mich..?" Zaide asked in his best Quinterrian. The pale canine next to him frowned a little, but handed him one anyway. After igniting the colorful stick and sticking it between his teeth, he tried to apologize another tongue, as it was clear the guy barely understood what he was saying. "Dus.. praat jij wel.. Oxiaans..?"
The frown disappeared and was replaced by a smirk. The Quinterrian rolled his eyes, and as they got onto a massive APC and settled down in hard, uncomfortable seats, he softly responded: "Je Oxiaans is bagger, maar ik hou ervan dat je het probeert, zwarte." And when the thick doors closed behind them, the lupine warriors drove off into the frozen wasteland.

(( * Velox: An anthropomorphic jackal ))

Ember would growl lightly, they were going across a highway, it was cold and covered with snow, luckly quinterran vehicles had tires designed to easily grip the ice, along with a plow on the front to deal with snow. The tunnel was long and dark, after a while they eventually reached a small Outpost on the hill, where troopers were firing off of it, the quinterran would walk over, pointing down to a large Mech vehicle that looked similar to an actual wolf, it was firing massive blue beams at Quinterran vehicles "Da ist es, es reißt alles auf, was wir darauf werfen, sogar die speziellen OPS, unsere Kräfte verzögern es am besten, aber es wird schließlich unsere Linien brechen" Said the quinterran,Ember would turn to look at the others "Any ideas?" Said the wolf "We need to bring down that" Ember would point to the Vehicle down below that was doing so much damage

ZAIDE - The bitter cold made his hands feel numb as soon as the Lycandros took them off so he could smother his cinder. Commander Kamura was no liar; Zaide believed now that the sun had gone, the temperature would drop beneath the safe level in hours, if not minutes.
But it was time to move out, as they had arrived at the Frostfall Outpost on one of the planet's mighty and incredibly snowy hills. A few paletails were firing at something, but it was either too far away and even if it weren't, the hill blocked his view. The vehicle scrambled up the hill without any apparent effort, and when it opened its metal doors, Zaide was too intrigued to stay in his seat any longer. The dark furred canine hopped off and walked through snow and ice, eventually reaching the top of the hill and laying eyes upon..
"Hell.." he mumbled under his breath. A huge or.. enormous metal being was emptying its massive pulse guns onto the hill, blowing chunks of the buildings, ripping vehicles apart like if they were paper cars and obliterated the remaining soldiers like a cub crushes a bug.
"We noemen haar Cu'Madr, naar onze Godin van de Dood," the Quinterran recruit said when he catched up with the much larger and faster Lycandros. "I mean... nevermind. She has been firing at us since quite a while now, we've lost many men.." There was sheer sorrow and pain in his voice, as most rookies hadn't figured out yet how to deal with such matters. Zaide wasn't the kind of guy who easily comforted people, but since this kid wasn't much older than 17 - and probably would never go beyond that age if he were to participate in this battle -, he firmly patted on his shoulder. It was a harsh world indeed.

ORIN - "Any ideas? We need to bring down that.." Commander Kamura said. Oh All-Father, but the mech was huge! A few blasts from a tank wouldn't even be able to make a dent, as this metal monstrosity was like.. the mother of tanks!
And where in name of The Father's balls was Zaide? Panicking internally, Orin poked his fluffy head around the corner, only to see his half-brother standing on the hill at a safe distance, a small trembling figure staying close to him. What? How did an anti-social hairball like him even make friends? Since their mission on the Wood Moon, Zaide had been the one having all the fun, making (girl)friends and pulling off tricks and-.. Argh, there was no fairness in all this! Orin wasn't enjoying himself, not for one bit. Sure, he liked adventure and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty, but the military business wasn't his! Or.. well, maybe he was just overreacting. He had quite a hard time dealing with the sudden stress these mission brought. He needed some time to adapt. Yeah. Like that.
"We need to think small," Orin said, suddenly full of zeal and confidence. He was going to make his Commander proud. Or at least, that was what he hoped. "Though that.. thing.. looks movable, it won't be as fast and agile as our Snowspeeders will be. If we can get any closer.." The mother of tanks looked a bit like the Alpha Canine, being quadrupedal and all. ".. maybe we could bind its legs and tackle it! Then, while it's laying on the ground with its blast shields down, one mortar aiming for its head is all we need!"
