My Steampunk main. Still under dev for backstory, but I've figured out exactly how to play her. And my plot contribution is rife

The world is divided into Abyss and Aether. The former rules the Low Places, where it is told in fairytales, that Man used to make his home on something called "land". The latter is where Man lives now. Beautiful as the clouds, and as endless as the horizon, cities, states and nations -- known as LifePorts -- fly across in hot-air ships of various sizes, crewed and captained of the most honored and true. Of course, that is the hope. But less, it seems, the reality of our way of life.
So, this is a world where the land below does not exist. Civilization has taken to the air, but has reverted to the the tenets of Church, Monarchy and Feudalism for countless millennia. With all the wars, drama, politics and intrigue that brings. Occasionally, pieces of land ascend from the Abyss to the Aether, bringing with it potential treasures. And dangers. Creatures live in the Abyss, and when it rises, they follow it.
Don't really know right now where this can go, but I think its a pretty solid jumping point to dive into possible campaign material. Everyone drop your two cents -- I'd appreciate feedback.

Damn, you're one hell of a worldbuilder! I like that! Well, I'd totally go with this setting, but the others wanted to blend in some Medieval-aspects too, right? I'm totally OK with both really, I don't have very apparent preferences, as long as our RP doesn't take place on Earth or an alternate Earth, I'm OK with anything.
OMG that's awesome, I like that a lot, definitely would like to see more medieval theme involved tho.
Feel free to add to the draft whatever aspects you'd like 
Well, like I said before, I'm already in love with this concept. So maybe we can just begin and add some other aspects later on? I'm eager to see where this setting and these characters are gonna take us!

When I come back on, I see six pages gone on by, and I despair. Randle, while you're here, that's what happened with one of the RPs I was with you in.
Secondly: I can't give you a good idea of what characters I can insert. I don't have any specific character designed for steampunk, but I can make some fit. Let's see here...
Varen: My automatic Go to. My best creation, so far.
Auren: Randle will remember him! A Dhampir duelist. I can also fit him in, but if I can, I'm adding guns to him!
Saren: I'm actually in the process of making him right now. I think he has the most potential to be truly 'steampunk'.

Hey Dark, good to see you again! Yeah, it's a damned shame what happened out our first RP, and I'm really sorry about overwhelming you with all our posts. Tbh, I'm not quite fond of post-order-lacking RPs, but since I don't want to drop out of the Adventurer's Quest, it's either keeping up or dropping out.
But it's great to have you! I wonder how many of the people who first replied to this thread are still up for this RP. Anyway, I it's up to you who you choose - that said, I'd be very interested in renewing Auren's and Randle's partnership in this RP, without getting flooded by distraction posts all the time - but I'll think they'll all fit in just fine (just add some goggles and steam-powered muskets and you're ready to rumble! xD)
