Capell let her sleep for a while, but an hour or two after sunrise he stood up and stretched. "Aaaalright, c'mon Eve. Time to get moving." He rolled his neck around, stretched again, then made sure he had everything on him still. He hadn't slept, but it was nice to just check every time he stood up. Thieves always knew how easily one could lose their possessions. "You can sleep more once we reach the village, right? So let's get going again."

Evelyn woke up to his words, but said nothing much until she felt less groggy. His statement about her being able to resume sleep in town was not true, and she'd say that right away. "No, I can't. I can't stay in those places. I don't even want to get near it...." She frowned some and wiped her eyes. She stretched and got up, ignored morning hunger (something she was used to doing, so she wasn't upset in doing so), and began to slowly hobble toward town. She contemplated making tea, using her own magic to help in inducing sleep, but that would take time and effort and she wasn't sure if he would even drink it or if she'd even find the herbs necessary to create it.
Capell watched her for a few moments, then shook his head. "Of course you can. They're not gonna know you're a witch unless you act suspicious like one. And since when do witches travel with a partner, huh? Don't worry, you'll be fine! Stick with me and you won't have any trouble, I promise. When we get there, I'll give you your knife, and you can leave as soon as you want to."

Evelyn actually stiffened some when he said that word. She reeled around and brought her finger to her lips. "Shhhh!" she hushed, as if the world was listening. "Please be quiet!" She understood that, if he had knowledge of what an athame was, he would know what she was. But as much as she knew, with his knowledge of what she was, he could be leading her to the stakes! Still, she went with him. "If I'm caught, they'll kill you, too, you know. For affiliating with me. They may even suspect you are one as well."
Capell chuckled and rolled his eyes. "I don't think so. You don't have to worry about getting hurt when you're around me, and you don't have to worry about me getting hurt either. Trust me on that one." He shook his head a bit, smirking. The idea of someone killing him was kind of amusing, because it'd technically already happened!

Evelyn didn't seem convinced, but she stopped feeling as worried. "Why would you even want to risk it...?" she asked, stepping over a large branch. "People are rather relentless right now for such minor reasons." The girl was still unhappy with Capell for taking something of hers, but she was calming down about the whole situation. It'd be resolved in due time, so there was little to worry about.
Capell chuckled. "Well, I look suspicious coming into town on my own, I need a partner. A travel buddy just for a little, right? It's not gonna be that bad, really. You'll be fine, and you'll maybe even enjoy being around me." He winked at her, but then smiled. "Really though, it's okay, Eve. Just relax."

Evelyn narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "Why do you look suspicious? ...Do you have a bad reputation?" she asked, eyes widening back to normal again. She didn't seem upset anymore, now just curious more than anything. She had almost forgotten she was nervous until he told her to relax, and she did, letting out a deep sigh in the process. "Sorry," she eventually mumbled, forging a quick little smile as she kicked a branch out of her path.
Capell cleared his throat. "Oh, uh, a little bit. Just with some people. Guards and officials don't like me very much, that's all. I'm fine with everyone else, people love me! It's just the officials and stuff who hate me, that's all." He shrugged a little bit and kept walking, smiling as she relaxed some. "There ya go, see? It's not so hard!"

"You must steal a lot," she casually mumbled, looking off to the side as she shoved a branch out of her way. "Not that I can blame you. It can be entertaining. Even when I lived in the cast--" she cleared her throat. "...Even when I lived with my family, I had a bad habit of stealing things from uh... nobles, I suppose you could say." She didn't necessarily say it was at the little parties they'd throw at their own houses, but yes. She'd steal from them there, just to see how they'd react when they couldn't find their precious pearl earrings or medallion or what have you.
Capell grinned at her. "Yep, a lot. I'm the best thief there is, ya know? Definitely!" He chuckled a bit, then listened to her. "Oh, you're a bit of a pick-pocket too, huh? Interesting." He smiled and kept walking. "Any good at it?" Now he was interested, now he was curious! She'd never be able to steal from him, but maybe she could steal from others.

Evelyn gave the guy a smile and nodded. "I like to think so. I don't want most of the things I steal, but it's so much fun to see people scramble about in a panic over something as unimportant as a material possession. A brooch, a pouch of gold, someone's favorite quill." She missed causing minor trouble like that, as it was all harmless fun, and was all done to those she knew in some way, shape, or form (usually).
Capell grinned and patted her on the back. "A girl after my own heart! I love the rush, the excitement of it! And of course the humor. I'm just like that, I love watching them scramble around so pathetically! Like they'd lost the very heart or soul of their being!" He chuckled and shook his head. "Fun stuff, it is."

Evelyn twitched a little when she was patted, but she let herself smile and relax a little. "Is that why you want company? Did you steal something and you're trying to stay away from people who're after you or something?" she questioned, her voice quiet, but it wasn't exactly intentional.
Capell chuckled. "Well, there'd be no denying it, unfortunately. Yes, that's exactly it. I've got a few guards on my tail, I think I lost them a while back but it'll be a lot less suspicious if I come in with a girl. If word has spread about me, they'll be expecting me alone." He smiled at her. "You'll play along, right? After all, we're kind of protecting each other here."

Evelyn stared down at her feet for a few moments as she walked and listened. "I can play along," she replied. Kinda had to, he had her athame. "I don't have much else to do, anyway. How long will you need me to stay with you?" she asked, finally looking up and over to him. It wasn't an impatient question, just out of curiosity. Her tone was more than enough to hint at that.
Capell thought it over. "Hmm...gotta see if the guards are on my tail or not. Probably just a few days, but it all depends. Don't worry, I won't keep ya from your path too long." He smiled at her, and as they finally neared the town, he moved a little closer to her, taking her arm casually and whistling a light tune. She'd notice that he was very...cold...to the touch.

"Ah, oh, okay. That's fine. Like I said, I have nothing I need to do anyway. If something interesting happens along the way, I suppose that's another story to add to my collection." At least she was being positive!

Evelyn didn't seem to do too much in response to him taking her arm. She twitched a little, but otherwise remained compliant. "Would you like to rest? You're a bit cold, you should probably warm up. Are you sick? Perhaps I can find some herbs and conjure up a remedy or treatment?" Not put off, but concerned by the unnaturally cold flesh.
Capell walked along, a smile growing on his face. "I'll explain when we get to our room at the inn." They entered the town and he walked along, keeping a casual eye on their surroundings. He went to the tavern with her, got them some food, and took it up to the room he got for them as well. Two beds, so she wouldn't freak out. He sat down at the table and put her food down. "Well, okay. I'm going to show you something. You have to promise not to freak out, okay?"

The young girl simply glanced over to him when he replied, which lead her to grow nervous. Not a lot, but if he was deathly ill and it was contagious, she didn't want any of that! Regardless, she didn't break the little arm lock and followed him to town. In her nervousness, she excused herself to the room ahead of time and sat in the center of her bed, contemplating. When he entered, her eyes lifted to meet him and the strange question came from him. She pulled herself from the bed and joined him at the table, because yay food. "I'm pretty good at keeping my head on my shoulders," she answered.
