Hi!

For the first time I am trying to create a template, but I don't really know how. Like, I know about HTML and CSS in general, but somehow the templates here seem to give me trouble when I try to do something
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but if I for example write:
div#charheader {
width: 960px;
}

It dosen't pop up when I preview it. Or rather, there's no change in the template. What am I writing wrong?

It can take some getting used to editing the CSS templates on here. We'll need a bit more info to help you though.

Can you show us the template you're working on? If we can see the code we can figure out why it's not working.

Also, are you using an existing template as an example to work from, or are you starting totally from scratch?
