The ticking stopped. Both Pokuu were trying to pull free of Melu's grip. Both managing to lift him off the ground in their efforts to get away. Melu soon lost its grip. One of the Pokuu immediately bolted. The massive, black armored head of a Muaka shot out of the brush at lightning speeds, it's jaws locking around the Pokuu. "M-MUAKA!" Melu yelped. The other Pokuu broke free, and ran.

Melu quickly drew his disk launcher. He fumbled with it briefly, before taking aim. He fired the disk, hitting the Muaka in the face. The Muaka let out a yelp, droppign the Pokuu, which immediately took its chance and ran. A low growl could be heard, before a second Muaka head launched from the brush, aimed at Melu. Melu yelped, jumping back and landing on his rear, dropping his disk launcher. It stopped, and snapped its jaws, just before it got to Melu, before retracting, as the rest of the best came out of the brush. The two Muaka towered over Melu and Whiru.

The Muaka roared as it raised one of its taloned paws, about to strike Melu.

The strikes came quickly. The Pokuu were running in seconds and Whiru took his mace in battle position. As a talon came down for Melu he swung the mace down to knocking the incoming claw into the ground as the Muaka's attack was deflected.
"I count two." Whiru says watching the beast pull back snarling. He got between Melu and the Muaka.

The second Muaka approached, letting out al ow growl as it did. The first reared up onto it's tread and roared. It shot its head out again, this time at Whiru. Melu managed to shove Whiru to the side, and ducked under the massive Rahi's head, before it retracted. Melu fumbled with his disk launcher, trying to aim it. His aim was clearly shaky but he pulled the trigger and launched the Disk at the Muaka. The disk pushed it back and it lost balance, falling to its side.

The second Muaka roared, it's head launching out, aiming for Whiru.

Managing to catch the approaching head in his vision Whiru swung around with his mace in hand. The head came up ready to take a bite but an uppercut with the mace sent it flying back and flailing as it was retracted.
"Damn beasts. Any idea how to scare them off?"

"N-No!" Melu responded. The Muaka's head retracted back and it shook its head. Melu glanced at the Muaka's tread, before an idea hit him. "RUN!" He shouted. "Knock as many things in their way you can!" Melu ordered, firing a disk at the Muaka to keep it temporarily dazed, whilst the other tried to get back on its tread and feet.

Whiru stared at him.
"Which way? We'll get lost if we go too far off course." The Muaka hissed as they were nearly ready to strike again. "Fine." Whiru says with grit. The two turn and begin running.

"No we won't!" Melu said, turning and bolting. Melu fired his Disk launcher at whatever he could to block the path behind them. He only just noticed a barred display on the disk launch. There only four bars left. "I think I'm almost out of disks!" Melu yelped.

The Muaka roared as they gave chase. Melu hadn't been able to knock anything sizeable enough to block their path, and their paws and treads crushed whatever was in front of them as they began to close in on the two Matoran.

Whiru ran in pursuit of Melu. However his heavier armour made agility tough. The trees and foliage about were twisted and interlinking like a strange network of life. The thrum of treads was heard behind and cries as branches snapped and rocks were spat aside. They were getting closer. As they ran Whiru noticed in the trees were large forms of what seemed like animals. They seemed bulbous and slow. As they ran he pulled out his mace and with a twist slammed it into a tree before continuing to move. The vibration ran up it causing one of the long armed creatures to fall down and get tied in vines as it swung in front of the Muaka.

One of the Muaka swung its head, throwing the small gibbon-like Rahi out of its path, before continuing on behind the two. Melu kept trying to knock debris in their path behind them, but failed repeatedly, before he was out of disks. "I'm out!" He shouted, placing his disk launcher on his back. Melu glanced behind him and Whiru to see the Muaka slowly gaining on them.

Melu let out a yelp as he suddenly tripped, landing face first on some old brick flooring. He groaned and got to his feet. The Muaka roared, coming to a stop, just before the the ground became brick. They snorted and snarled, stalking back and fourth for a few moments, before giving up and leaving. "What the heck?" Melu questioned, glancing around.

The two were standing in the center of a large, clearly ancient ruin. There were various buildings that looked like Guard towers surrounding what looked like a central temple. There were various dusty old suits of armor strewn about. Atleast half were black and purple, whilst hte others were more varied. Inside the armor were the metallic skeletons and cybernetic implants of Agori and Glatorian. There were even a few Skrall among them. "What happened here?" Melu asked.

Whiru panted and fell to his rear once the Muaka wandered off. He dropped his mace to his side and panted heavily. He took a good thirty seconds before looking around to take in their surroundings. Some kind of ancient temple. It seemed heavily overgrown which was to be expected. Vines and grass came out of any exposed crack in the floor and most walls. Corpses were over covered in plants but no animals seemed to be nearby.
"Looks like a temple?" Whiru asked getting to his feet and walking over to Melu. "Isn't it on your map? Is pretty big?"

Melu dug his map out and looked at it. He knew it was old, and possibly outdated. He didn't find anything referencing this old temple anywhere on the map. "No it's not on my map." Melu said. Melu's curiosity took over and he began looking around.

All of the writings were written in Argori. Melu couldn't read it, having never needed to learn to read the Agori language. "What happened here?" Melu asked.

"Never seen this place before? It's close to that main trail?" Whiru was rather confused. This whole situation was not something he could understand. How could someone have not found such a large place like this?

"Well, it's not the main path." Melu said. "I dunno if that path had been used in a while. C'mon" He motioned for Whiru to follow him as he headed to the temple. "Hello?" Melu called out as he got to the entrance of the temple.

"Last I checked temples and other sites were always marked. Don't the Toraga make it a nearly obsessed goal to keep these places known and cared for?" Whiru asks as he follows Melu inside. As Melu yells he moves over to look at an ancient and rusted mask. It seemed to still be on the body but both were nearly fossilized. Hardly seemed right to consider them corpses anymore but he wouldn't mention it. The thought sent a shiver down his back as he realized. These were corpses. Nervously he turns to Melu.
"You know we probably shouldn't stay here long. I mean we need to find where we are in relation to that road and mark this place down. So I think we should head out." He says nervously nudging his head towards the door.

"Yeah, but those are Matoran tmeples. I think this one's an Agori temple." Melu said. He dug into his bag when Whiru mentioned being concerned about getting back to the road. He pulled the tablet out. "This should've traced our path." Melu explained, before jotting down a name for the landmark they were in. "It would also probably be a good idea to wait a while to be sure the Muaka are actually gone and not just waiting for us to come out." Melu added.

Melu'd assumed the bodies they passed where corpses, but they'd clearly been here for a very long time, possibly centuries, or even a few millennium, so he wasn't too worried. "Besides, don't you wanna see what's in here?" Melu asked, glancing back to Whiru. "What ever happened here happened ages ago, and I doubt these dusty old bones are gonna get back up anytime soon." He added, before pausing. The temple was probably dark inside, so Melu dug into his bag and pulled out a torch he had, one of the ones used in the Onu-Ifo tunnels. He tapped the bottom and it lit up. It had a soft green glow to it.

"Well what if it's trapped? We shouldn't be going wondering into strange temples without consideration." Whiru pauses and looks down the dark corridor. "Though the idea of seeing what's ahead is interesting." He sighs. "Fine. We'll have a look." Taking his mace in hand he follows. "But anything that looks like a trap we turn back from."

Melu nodded as they went deeper into the temple. It got darker, as expected, as they went deeper. They passed several large and heavy doors, but no real traps. If the did pass any traps they had decayed to a point to a point where they trigger anymore.

They'd been in the temple for a while now before coming to another door. It took a bit of effort from the two but they got the door open and entered the room. Melu yelped, jumping slightly. Kneeling before them was a massive armored being. They wore a Kanohi, and the predominantly mechanical nature of their body immediately suggested they weren't native to this planet.

The being had three shackles, one around its neck, two around its wrists, keeping it chained to the floor. The beings armor was predominantly black, but there was some dark red as well. Even when in the current kneeling position, the being towered over the two Matoran. The heart light on the being was out, and their eyes were black, suggesting they were either dead, or some kind of robot that was in active. "H-Hello?" Melu asked. The being didn't react.

"I think it's dead?" Whiru says looking the form over. It didn't seem as rusted and decayed as the others. That was rather odd. Whiru cautiously touched it's arm. Curious as to the result. "Weird prison if this was the case."

The being didn't respond to Whiru touching it. Melu looked around the room, shifting his attention to what else was in there. The only other object in the room was a block of rock that had some kind of vase on it. "Why leave this in here?" Melu questioned, walking around the being. He quickly noticed a long tail coming from the being, also chained to the floor.

Mel stepped over the tail as he got to the stone and looked at the vase. It was coated in a heavy layer of dust. Melu picked the vase up and looked over it. It had a lid on top of it, and was incredibly light.

"If this stuff is truly a new discovery shouldn't we get someone down here who's qualified to document it? That looks rather frail." Whiru steps over the tail like limb and walks up to Melu looking over the vase.
