Hey, what do people think about the possibilities of using toon-physics in an RP? It would remove the risk of death and make certain behaviors more viable for the sake of comedy. This could even make dice rolling less intimidating for people who are really attached to their characters and don't wanna die for dumb reasons. Now when dumb stuff happens, it can be fun for everyone!
Anyway, does this sort of thing have any significant problems that people can think of, or do people like how this sounds?

Well, one of the first issues to pop into my head is tonal issues. Depending on the tone of the rp, or the individual characters, it might clash heavily.

Well, yeah, but almost any character works better in some tones over others. Humans and toons have interacted fine before, too, especially when dark humor is involved.
You are right, though. Proper planning would be required to have the best possible time.
I think it's just one of those things all players involved would have to agree on. When it's what everyone wants and expects, I bet they'd have an absolute blast with it.
It can be tricky to find people into it, though. Even a lot of the folks who might want to would probably only want to sometimes, and that might be something like 4/5 rps they do or just 1/20. I do think it's a nice option to have available.
For me personally, I have a really hard time with the goofy and bizarre. There are plenty things in those areas that I can enjoy observing, but it's super difficult for me to try to play. My brain insists on making sense of the things I do and interact with. That's actually why I use certain characters of mine so little, like Green Mike (gentleman thief who is supposed to be uncatchable) and Sal (literally a talking salad). Even if I can make the character, I just can't seemed to play them right. Granted, that might change with the right circumstances, such as sufficient trust in the people I'm playing with.

It definitely depends on setting. Some fantasy folks RP in-tune to "semi-realistic" style settings like Lord of the Rings, some prefer anime themes where things like gravity and anatomy go out the window. It's just about finding your niche, determining your setting, and communicating with the others involved. While I'm more a fan of feasible physics, I remember keeping the rules loose and silly with friends in the past. It's best applied to more comedic plots!
