Sidhe (played by Lenansidhe)

She treads softly through the forest, long bushy tail flowing behind her. Rainy days such as this were perfect for what she is searching for, her spirits are high. She's singing softly as she goes, "And like a love-sick lenansidhe, she has my heart in thrall, nor life I owe nor liberty, for love is lord of all...." She stops here and there to collect herbs, and any pretty trinkets that catch her eye. Suddenly, a large gust of wind blows her cloak away from her face and she stares up at the sky above her; it would be dark soon and she should be heading home. Strange, this wind, it's been a still day so far... She adjusts her cloak around her shoulders, tucks her ears under the hood, and quickens her pace, the rain drenching through to her fur. "I'm only missing one item, surely there is time for that?" As Sidhe walks along, she can feel the moon rising slowly behind her, although it cannot be seen. The evening is still and quiet, the random gust of wind was troublesome and filled her with foreboding, her joyfulness dissipating. Finally she spots what she needs hiding among a pile of leaves on the forest floor, a large mushroom, blue in color, which she rushes to pick up..

Ever the lover of nature, as it was his primary livelihood, the splotched collie had spent most of his day almost aimlessly directing his single horse to bumble his decorated vardo through sparse, then dense woodlands in a lazy rainstorm. The tell-tale gypsy-tinkling of domed silver bells, clunking wood, and chimes heralded his presence, cautioning croaking frogs and other ground-dwelling creatures to keep out of his way. A water-wicking tent of fabric had been fashioned to keep the cart's driver from the sky's tears, and his horse wore a quilted blanket over its backside beneath a tarp to keep it both warm and dry. Caught in a daydream, or perhaps a memory, one of the canine's leather-gloved hands was idly twirling a jade earring that hung from his ear. For a moment the man carelessly dropped his reins in thought. Suddenly, he caught sight of a figure in his periphery - a hurrying woman headed straight in the path of his vehicle. Swiftly, Rhuben caught up the straps that held to his steed and jerked them towards his person with an otherworldly strength that stopped the equine in its tracks-- his vardo parked abruptly and low-hanging over a single blue mushroom. "So sorry, my dear girl! Are you alright?"

Sidhe, being so entranced with her mission almost didn't notice the vehicle rushing towards her, and jumped back just in time as it came to an abrupt halt in front of her. Ignoring the man and his question she rushes to grab the mushroom, holding it to her chest, as she drops a seed into the upturned earth, brushing her tail over it lightly. She turns and glares up at the man, with one hand on her hip, studying his face, ears making their way out from under her hood to listen for this one's heartbeat. He seems to be amused... she thought to herself as her tail swishes from side to side showing her agitation. "You almost hurt it, watch what you're doing!"

It was as if the collie's demeanor changed instantaneously to the woman's angry outburst; the kindness and worry in his face soured. He sneered down to the woman, showing a single overly-sharp canine, his brow furrowing with his own brand of annoyance. "And who is to say that you did not almost harm my horse, perhaps almost running into its path? Are you deaf, child, that you cannot hear the racket my vehicle carries across the forest?" He was dressed prim, ruffles pouring from a high-collared jacket decked in the piping reminiscent of a modern-day band uniform.

If she was listening in some supernatural way for his heartbeat, she might have been surprised not to hear a single thump in the man's chest - a chest absolutely covered with a beautiful mane of fur, which intermingled with necklace upon necklace of varying gemstones and precious metals.

"Let's hear it! We can see it in that tail of yours, all the words you'd like to call us." Was he speaking about himself in the third person? "And over a mushroom. A single mushroom. Don't you know it's not the last of its kind? Why, in my travels today I've upped my supply by so many of that particular fungi, and numerous others."

Sidhe listened to the man reprimand her and taps her foot impatiently letting him finish his rambling. "Are you sure of that Sir?" She holds up the single mushroom blue with white dots, which was glowing slightly in her palm. "This particular mushroom is known to hold specific properties which are vital in the spell I am working on. In these parts, they are hard to come by.. Of course I'm going to be upset that you almost squashed it.
Collecting herself she walks carefully around the horse, cooing softly to it and smiling at its response to her. At least his horse is friendly enough, she ponders silently. "Are you sure this mushroom is the same as yours?" She holds out the mushroom carefully, for the man to inspect. She stares at him hopefully, her anger subsiding. She tries to search for his heartbeat once more and is worried when she cannot hear one, almost dropping the mushroom in surprise.

The collie had watched with eyes of blue and brown - he clearly had heterochromia - as the, he assumed, feline circled his equine and made soft noises towards it, although hardly wary of her intentions. He didn't seem anxious about her movements, or appear as though he believed she was any threat.

A single eye squints to the shroom the woman holds up for him to view, and when he has taken its detail in at length, he leans back in his driver's seat, which creaks beneath the weight of him, despite he does not appear to be a heavy individual. "I'm sure of that, ma'am." He made sure he was emphasizing in the same fashion as she, considering they each appeared to be wanting to condescend the other.

The hopeful glint in her eye, and her discussion of spellmaking also eased his own annoyance, and he composed himself to jerk a thumb towards his wagon. "It's quite possible you just haven't ventured far enough; I have all manners of such things in my home here. An herbalist... of sorts."

And still, there was no heartbeat.

Tucking her ears back into her hood Sidhe acknowledges the mans question and begins to answer, "Hmm, perhaps not, I try not to venture out of this beloved forest of mine, I prefer not to be seen by the non magic creatures who dwell in the surrounding towns. For your information I could not hear you coming, as I was too focused on the idea of getting that shroom.." She quickly but gently stashes said mushroom into the belt that is strapped across her chest, making sure the buckle is fastened correctly. Following the direction he was pointing she gazes at the vehicle that this man called home, it was beautiful, but in no way compared to her own.

A small part of her envied him of his freedom, the thought of traveling was never far from her mind. The humans made her restless and nervous, so it was too much of a risk for her. Sidhe reaches into the fold of her skirts, pulling out a shiny apple and coos softly at the horse once more, feeding it to him. Ignoring the condescending tone of the collies voice, Sidhe listens to him silently, as she strokes the equines long mane. So, he calls himself an herbalist, interesting, her ears find their way out from under the hood of her cloak yet again, and they perk up at this news.

By this time the man has soothed his irritation, and he rests an elbow against his leg, leaning the fur of his cheek into the leather of his palm. He appeared as though he'd seen it all, unfazed by her mention of non-magic creatures, which indicated that there was something supernatural or magic about herself. Calm now, he says. "Well, I am sorry for almost squashing your mushroom; you'll simply have to forgive that I was more inclined not to hit you."

His brow furrows a moment as she removes an apple from her skirts. Where exactly was she hiding it?

"I see you're taking a liking to my horse. He's had a long day. We've ambled for the majority of it, and were just getting ready to stop and rest for the evening."

She feeds the apple to the horse turning to stare up in the direction of the unseen moon. "I should probably be heading back to my burrow, it is already much later than I would like and there is much to do.." Sidhe hears him start to apologize and turns her attention back towards the collie, she notices that he is staring her way, chin resting in his palm, a strange expression playing across his face. As Sidhe listens to him continue she swishes her tail side to side trying to shake away some of the moisture, she hated for her tail to get wet. "Oh, it is quite alright, no one was hurt after all, your horse is quite lovely by the way, may I ask for your names?
