Oh geez.. where do you want me to start? I love movies... usually older ones. When one asks me what my favs are, they usually put a number on them like 'top five' or 'top ten', etc. I could fill this post with several movie names I love from various genres. So is it wrong for me to go to another site where I answered this question and copy my post here? nah... In no particular order other than my thinking of them, here it goes.
  • Casablanca (I can watch this anytime, and it's beautiful every time)
  • Cross of Iron (A war movie that doesn't follow the usual formula)
  • Legends of the Fall (A dramatic romance movie that tells a beautiful and tragic story)
  • The Big Sleep (Humphrey Bogart as Phillip Marlowe... It is wonderful)
  • Chinatown (Jack Nicholson is awesome in this movie, and the fact he gets his nose slashed with a malfunctioning prop knife added to the intensity)
  • Dead Man (Arguably one of Johnny Depp's best movies. Dark, Edgy, with a great score by Neil Young.
  • The Killing Fields (A solid view of Cambodia when the Americans fled and the Khmer Rouge took control of the country in 1975. Not for the faint-of-heart
  • Kelly’s Heroes (One of the best U.S.-centric WW2 movies ever. The blend of seriousness and dark comedy works well)
  • The Breakfast Club (For me, It captured the various ‘types’ of cliques that were prevalent in high school. I find it interesting that today I am facebook ‘friends’ with some people who were in all these groups in our high school days. Back then we’d never be caught hanging out, let alone talking with each other.)
  • Emperor of the North Pole (I like steam trains, I like the historical period)

I could go on and on…

Childhood favorites were Unico and The Last Unicorn.

Then all the Star Trek, The Next Generation movies.

Star Wars(even the prequels*gasp*)

LakotaSiouxWarrior

Casablanca,to have and have not. The grapes of wrath. Dances with wolves and gone with the wind. Along with the pirates of the Caribbean movies up to the 3rd. Atonement anything with keria knightly. The dark knight the dark knight rises I could go on and on.

- Jack Reacher
- mostly everything Marvel (had high hopes for the reboot of Fantastic 4, but was let down!)
- Jason Bourne (all)
- James Bond (I prefer Daniel Craig)
- Sherlock Holmes, RDJ's version. The first and only mystery movies I have failed to solve within the first five minutes.

Yeah sounds like a bunch of great movies

If you're into old movies, the 1930 movie All Quiet On The Western Front is still quite gripping even if the tech is quite dated. Well worth a watch.

Not as much but I do appreciate the post my good man. Glad to meet everyone!😀
I'm a sucker for some of the older disney animated films. I still laugh until my sides are sore every time I watch The Aristocats and Robin Hood XD

I really liked Stealth for its' take on artificial intelligence and many of the ramifications of making a true AI.

And I dunno how no one here has yet mentioned Rogue One, a true masterpiece told within the Star Wars galaxy, a masterful tale and a glimpse into the tactics of both the Empire and the newly formed Alliance of differing rebel factions.

Aristocats.... I love the cats when they're jamming! "everybody... Everybody... Everybody wants to be a Cat!"

And Rogue One! Yes! It is brilliant! It takes a moment in the timeline and expands the story wonderfully. Bu tthen, I; one of the few who didn't mind Hans... so...

heheh, yeah, I must have sung that song so many times when I was little XD

I agree. I think Rogue One was better, but while Solo could have been better, it wasn't a shabby movie either--I liked it. Still a lot better than the new trilogy imo.
I next to never see movies... Unless I'm physically dragged there by a friend, so it's mostly just an eclectic mix of old movies that interested me enough to download/old movies I caught on TV and enjoyed.

Withnail and I (Dark British Comedy)
the Star Trek: TOS era movies. Even the bad ones have fantastic character moments.
Blade Runner. More the aesthetic than 'dang I found this story compelling'. But I love Shadowrun and I read the book so what can I say.
Horatio Hornblower TV-movie series. Fantastic stuff. Takes lots of liberties from the books, but I like it as its own separate thing. Ioan Gruffudd as Horatio Hornblower. Paul McGann as the fantastic Mr. Bush.
Can I say The Scarlet Pimpernel (1999-2000)? I mean it was a similar made-for-TV movie format-esque, like Hornblower. I'm gonna say it. With Richard E. Grant.
I'm also partial to the Murdoch Mysteries series of movies with Peter Outerbridge as Detective Murdoch. I mean, I love the ongoing series as well, but the original movies were also good, truer to the books, a bit darker. All fantastic stuff.
