I just wanted to reach out and wish everyone peace and love as the holiday's start piling in on us during this time of year. Being a Canadian, our Thanksgiving is this weekend, (as the American one is by my birthday in late November) and I wanted to wish everyone who has lost a loved one or a dear friend this year or any year prior to this that my thoughts are with you.
The holidays are usually a time of joy, celebration and gathering, and this year will mark my second Thanksgiving without my Papa, who was, for all intents and purposes, (other than my husband) my rock, as well as inspiration. The man simply had the biggest heart and every smile he gave was truly genuine from his body as well as his soul. I recently also lost a good friend of mine. She was... absolutely gregarious, simply a joy to talk to. She had a wonderful heart and was such a devoted and loving mum. The world is short of a really amazing parent and friend. So, I will definitely be lighting a candle for her and her beautiful boys this upcoming Monday.
I know I'm not the only one out there, so, have a wonderful holiday season. Whatever your belief system is, whoever you have lost, they are with you in heart, in memories, in spirit. Yeah, without a doubt it's tough without them. The world is, if nothing else, not the same, and nowhere near as wonderful as it used to be with them gone. Know that my thoughts are with you.
Thank you to this community and everyone for being who you are, even if we personally don't get along, the sentiment is most assuredly the same.
May you all have a warm, loving holiday season.

Oh my goodness, what is there to apologize for? Don't be sorry. I'm glad you're having a good holiday season. Hell, you should be! But you have my thanks for the condolences. 💜

Thank you so much for your kind words. I definitely can't take all the credit because I honestly never thought of people losing loved ones and the impact during holidays (except for Christmas) until the wonderful woman who hosted my Papa's funeral mentioned it. She inspired me, without a doubt, to reach out like this. I know 3 people who have lost grandparents this year alone, not to mention co-workers who have lost friends.
Losing someone dear is universal and knowing through my own experience how the holidays can make the void more apparent, I wanted others to know that someone is thinking of them, that we aren't alone despite potentially feeling that way.
Thanks so much Libertine for your kind words and well wishes. The same most definitely to you and yours as well. 💜
The holidays are always a complex time. I'm sorry for your losses, and I hope your holidays are full of old, fond memories and new ones still to be made.
