Ah! She seemed to respond better to interesting voices. A big grin graced her face, and it really wasn't too pretty all things considering, and she inched closer and sat back down. "Bird~" she sang. Her voice was smiling, though laughter had yet to surface. "Fav...favrit.... favorite you!" Awh, she was having fun just being loud and singing words she heard. The creature had no idea what was going on, but her ignorance allowed her to make the best of the situation. A strange, almost maniacal laughter erupted from her. Fun indeed!
Isobel laughed with her. The sound of their laughter echoed of the walls and made it sound as if they were in a room filled with people, all laughing with delight. "Can you see the sky Yuu? Do you feel that breeze Yuu?" She continued with her song. It was completely filled with nonsense questions but it didn't seem to matter. "Have you swam the sea Yuu? Seen the bright little fish Yuu?"
Through her laughter and repeating words, everything she said meshed together to form noises rather than syllables. Eventually all the body-rocking laughter caused the girl to fall over and hit the ground with a loud THUNK! She was still grinning and lucid though. No harm done! ...Despite having hit her head on the cave floor, what? Ugh, Yuu, you're ridiculous.
If she knew how to speak and the importance of asking, she'd likely inquire about the duration of time which they needed to stay here, or where they would go next. But she didn't know, so she'd just lay there and sing-song syllables because she was trying too hard to fit in all the words at once. Much like a baby.

Isobel looked in Yuu's direction when she heard the thump. But she was still singing so she must've been ok. Isobel yawned. "You tired Yuu? I know I am." She'd finished cleaning out her wings and now nestled them around her in a feathery cocoon. She leaned back and smiled a little. She'd escaped. And found a friend.
...A mentally obscure friend, that is!
Yuu was tired, but the word didn't make sense to her. When her friend grew quiet, so did she. She likely scooted closer just for warmth, but it was a purely automatic course of action. The girl would eventually fall asleep, seeing as though she was silent unless spoken to and was already laying down, plus the warmth from her friend didn't help her to stay awake any.

Isobel fell into a deep sleep and woke up a little after sunrise. She opened her wings and stretched her arms out. She got up and walked towards the mouth of the cave. "Are you hungry Yuu?" She had no idea how she'd get food but there had been a river nearby, maybe they could catch some fish. Although she wasn't sure how she'd do that when she couldn't see them.
She ate normal food, really. And she was used to feeding herself when it became unbearable. It wasn't yet to that point, but if she saw Isobel digging around in water, searching for fish, she'd likely help her. She had an advantage since she had longer fingers that could even pierce! Perhaps she could make it easier on the both of them?
Isobel went into the water and stood there, getting a feel for the current of the river. Her senses had heightened since she lost her sight and even though her sense of feeling wasn't the strongest, she could feel the slight vibrations as the fish moved through the water. When she thought one was close she'd snatch her hand out and try to grab one. After a few failed attempts, she finally caught a small one. Isobel grinned, proud of herself. "Have you caught any Yuu?"
Yuu had actually sat down in the water, caring not if she got cold or if the bag she wore got wet. Her hands quickly flung out to snatch or stab fish, and Isobel would likely hear crunching and gross eating noises. She would quickly thrust one of the bigger fish toward the girl though, so that she could get to work eating the still-alive fish (she assumed she would anyway).
Yuu had a pretty easy time catching them, too! Taste wasn't something she focused on, just on eating and feeling normal again.

Isobel couldn't really eat her fish with the scales still on it so she found a sharp rock and set to descaling the fish. "What I wouldn't do for a knife..." She heard Yuu catching fish and eating them. It definitely wasn't the greatest sound in the world, but Isobel had heard worse in the lab. "Sounds like you're a natural at this Yuu." She had all the scales off the fish and bit into it. She ate around the bones and the fish's guts.
She was, too. She had to be. She didn't know how to work and earn money or communicate. No one took pity on her and fed her. She had to find ways to do it herself! And based on reactions from folk downtown, she had learned not to eat cats. Rats gained a lot of disgust, but she never heard someone screaming at her and was never chased when eating one of those. In a way, she could be considered catlike because of this.
Isobel finished eating the fish and threw the remains on the ground. "Ready to go Yuu?" She wasn't really sure where they'd go. Any direction away from the lab seemed safe. And people probably wouldn't be hiring a winged girl at any of the small towns around here. So Isobel decided to sneak into the first town they came to and "find" some clothes to cover her wings.
Similarly to Isobel, she would likely need something better than a burlap sack to cover her body. Stealing some clothes was a fantastic idea. As for whether or not she was ready to leave, it didn't really matter to her. Not like she understood. When she was asked this, though, her attention left the fish and she was now gawking at the girl. She could probably hear the absence of splashing and disgusting mouth-noises as a signal that she had her attention.
Isobel waded across the river to the other side, enjoying the feeling of the cool water around her legs. She felt almost sad to be leaving here. It was nice with the cave for shelter and river for food and water. She might have considered living here if it weren't so close to the lab. She climbed up on the warming rocks on the other side and spread her wings out a little, feeling them getting warmer from the sun. "Come on Yuu, it's time to leave." She said reluctantly.
By now, she was following her friend. She was close behind and clumsily toppling over each rock she faced, splashing into the water with an extreme lack of grace, but doing all of these in order to stay close. How they were going to get better clothes without being noticed was anyone's guess. Isobel may be able to do it, but Yuu doesn't know what she's doing, and would likely muck everything up.
As for that, Isobel wasn't really sure either, but she figured she'd just wing it. She hardly thought that clothing shops would welcome her and Yuu with open arms. If she was by herself she would've flown farther away, maybe to an island somewhere, and it wouldn't matter what she wore. She thought about how to get some clothes as they walked. They hadn't come to a town yet, but they were bound to soon.
