Zalia dashed through the trees, running as fast as her legs could carry her. The forest was thick around her, the moon high in the sky and giving her no shadows to hide in. Not that shadows would matter, her hunter would find her either way. She saw a building, flickering through the trees and branches. A house. Rescue. She didn't expect it to be a mansion, and now she was certainly not going to knock on the front door. Maybe she could find a window.

She reached the house, immediately moving around the back of it to find a window to sneak in, or a trellis to climb. Just some way to get inside the house, and into peace. She glanced over her shoulder. She didn't have much time. She had to get in there now!

She reached the house, immediately moving around the back of it to find a window to sneak in, or a trellis to climb. Just some way to get inside the house, and into peace. She glanced over her shoulder. She didn't have much time. She had to get in there now!

A young man, or look to be a young man was sitting in his library sipping a glass of blood that he got from down in his basement. His hears picked up sounds of movement from outside as he turned his head in that direction. Though he doesn't move, he just waits to see what would happen next.

There was a window open, the next room across from the library that he was in. The room look to be a living room of some kind or maybe a social room for people that he might have over to visit, even though hardly anyone came to visit him.
As he sat there a smirk came over his lips, "It seems we have an unexpected visitor." His voice somewhat low but also charming at the same time.

Zalia was completely unaware of what kind of person was in there. If she'd been aware, she would probably have just kept running. She pulled herself in through the window and shut it quickly behind her, wincing as it clacked a little louder than she would have liked. She ducked down to be out of view from the window and glanced around. This room was empty, but who knew if anyone was in the house? She put a hand to her stomach. She was so hungry. Maybe she could sneak something to eat.

If she hadn't been so worried about being caught, she would've sighed out loud. So this is what it came to? Stealing? Again. Stealing for food. She hated doing that. It left her with a bad feeling. But it was either take some food, or starve. And this person seemed like he or she had a lot of food to spare. She carefully got to her feet and crept to the door of the room, hunched over to try and make herself less obvious. The door was opened veeeery carefully, and she peeked out to take a quick look around.

When she opened the door a man standing about 6'1, stood in front of her. A soft smile came upon the man's face, "My my..what do we have here? Someone trying to sneak into a man's home without permission." He stood there with the wine glass in his hand, the liquid looked really red almost like wine but it was clearly blood. He remained silent, waiting to see her reaction to him standing there.

Zalia froze. If she was the kind to curse, she would have done so right then. When he started speaking she reeled back quickly and made a dash for the window. However, she only made it halfway there. The scent of blood made her stop right in her tracks. She put a hand over her mouth, her tongue touching her teeth to feel for the pointed ones. How long had it been since she'd fed? Apparently too long. "S-s...um, s-sorry. I-I um, I was b-being chased, and..." She fidgeted, her hand lowering. If he found out what she was, it'd be bad. Probably worse than if he just assumed she was a human. She kept her back turned to him, something she normally would never do. But she couldn't look at the blood. Just the smell of it was tempting. And he was terrifying. By nature, fullbloods terrified her.

Jaques grinned, his fangs showing as he took a step forward, "May I ask what are you hiding from?" His voice calm and cool, but also deep and soothing to anyone's ears. His movements towards her was rather graceful. He took another sip of from his wine glass then turned to look at the girl before him.

Zalia turned as she heard him step, facing him this time. She took a step back, trying to keep the same amount of distance between them. "A..um...somebody was chasing me..." She cleared her throat, her eyes glancing from his face to the wine glass. Her hand reached back a little as she desperately hoped she was close enough for the window latch. She would rather be out there with that danger than in here with him.

Jaques saw that she was really nervous, "Then you can hide in here until whoever chases you leaves this area." He gives a gentlemen like bow to her then stands straight up. "Please, come inside. You look like you are hungry. Sadly, all I have is blood packs. But I think I might have something else in the frig." He turns around and walks towards the door. "So if you wanna leave, you can but you will be facing that person that is chasing you." It was almost as if he knew what she was going to do. His nose could smell her fear for him, which he wasn't too ashamed of. Since anyone would fear a vampire or a person that they didn't know.

Zalia hesitated. Food. Blood packs. She couldn't let him know she wanted both. She followed, but kept her distance from him. "Th...thank you..." She swallowed and glanced around. Her throat was never this dry. Never this burning. The stupid blood was making her want it so badly. She looked at him, carefully. Watching intently. "Wh...who are you?" She wasn't sure if she really wanted to know. He was dangerous, that's all she needed to know.

Jaques kept a steady pace, his movement graceful still. He held his glass up high beside him, "My name is Lord Jaques. I live in this mansion by myself, so do not worry. You are safe here." The hallway was big and grand. There was several rooms off to each side, some leading to another living room space, others were to a gaming room. A grand staircase sat right in the middle of the mansion that lead upstairs to the rooms and bathrooms. "This way please." He moved towards the left side of the grand staircase to a swinging door that lead into the kitchen, beside to the left of the swinging door was the entrance to the dining room.

Zalia couldn't believe how lavish the mansion was. She looked around, her eyes wide. When he mentioned the 'Lord' title, it didn't surprise her. Oh great, royalty. That was going to make things even worse. "I-I'm...Zalia." Like the flowers, azalias. She loved those flowers, they reminded her of her mother. She followed him along carefully, never getting within arm's reach. Though with what he was, she knew he'd be able to grab her at any time anyways. As long as he didn't bite her. The moment he bit her, he'd know exactly what she was. "Um...th-thank you for the hospitality...I-I'm sorry I snuck in..."

Jaques gave a shrug of his shoulders as they enter the kitchen, "Ah, its nothing really. I have no one here most of the time. And I always stay inside my house, so I don't get any visitors really." He motions to the big frig. "You can go ahead and look inside. Please do mind the blood packs that are in there. I ordered them myself. Oh! I'm a vampire if you haven't guessed. Do not worry, I don't drink people's blood unless they say its okay." He takes another sip of his wine glass, filled with blood. "That's why I order from the blood bank." Inside, if she looked was bread and some meat as well. Plus a bottle of water as well. "Again, sorry about not having a lot of food. I hardly have any guests."

Zalia went to the fridge and looked at him hesitantly. She didn't trust anything he said. She opened it and glanced inside. She took out the meat and water. Maybe they would ease her thirst for blood. All those blood packs were sooo tantalizing. "It's alright. Thank you..." She looked around nervously, then sat down. Wait...eating raw meat might raise suspicions. "Um...may I use the oven?" She didn't want to wait to eat, but she didn't want him to find out what she was more.

"A um...a vampire. I...see." She looked down at the meat. It looked so delicious that she nearly cried. "...can you leave?" she whispered. She didn't want to cook it, she just wanted to eat it raw, but she didn't want him to be there to see it.

Jaques gave a nod of his head, "Very well. Yes, you may use whatever you wish in my home. You are my guest. I will be in the dining room." He gave a gentlemen bow and walked out of the kitchen and into the dining room.

Zalia watched him carefully for a few long moments, and as soon as he was gone she rushed to the oven and turned it on. Then, she carefully sat and munched the meat, raw, making sure to lick her fingers when she was done. She had the oven on to fool him into thinking she'd cooked and eaten it out here. When she felt like enough time had passed to make this plausible, she turned off the oven and turned towards the dining room. That was when she heard a noise outside. Oh no. The hunter had found her. He must have realized there was a fullblood in here as well, otherwise he wouldn't be sneaking around. Should she warn Jaques? She found it hard to move for a few moments, but then quickly walked into the dining room.

When she entered the dining room, Jaques didn't have his wine glass with him it was on the dining room table. He look to be licking his lips, but he didn't get it all off since there was a trace of blood upon the right side of his mouth. "Please have a seat." He turn to face her, with a warm smile upon his face.

Zalia swallowed nervously. The blood was making her heart race. She wanted it. She wanted blood. She walked over and sat down carefully, not close to him of course. She definitely wasn't going to sit close to him. "Um...thank you for the food..." she said quietly, trying to keep her eyes locked on her lap, not looking at him at all.

Jaques raised an eye brow as he walked over to her. "Is something wrong, my dear? All this time you've been acting rather nervous around me." He stood right behind her and leaned down over her left shoulder. Sniffing her a little bit then asking, "You aren't a normal human, are you?" He wasn't dumb, he knew something was different about this girl.

Zalia tensed up as he went near her. Her heart was racing, because of his question, her fear of him, and...that blood. That blood on his mouth, right by her head. She couldn't help herself. She turned her head and licked the blood off the corner of his mouth. As soon as she realized what she'd done, though, she practically jumped out of her chair. She raced for the door as fast as she could. Now it was DEFINITELY safer out with the hunter than in here with him.
