Damian (played anonymously)

((good evening y'all i love this event let's get this bread. sorry if this is complete nonsense though, i'm kind of rusty since i haven't been writing regularly for awhile))

Damian hated Halloween.

No, really, he loathed it with every fiber of his being. He had no clue what it was about the stupid holiday that made him want to stay inside more than he already did, but there was just something about it that made him sick from his own inexplicable wrath.

...Okay, maybe he didn't hate it that much, but he still didn't like it. He never liked it as a kid, so he sure as hell didn't like it as an adult. He was pretty sure his hatred started up when he was a little kid; he was a very easily frightened child, so he spent most Halloween nights clinging to his mother and sobbing anytime he saw someone with any sort of mask at all. He couldn't even go shopping for Halloween costumes without getting freaked out by everything in the aisles. Needless to say, the entire Halloween season just left a bad taste in his mouth.

So. Why was he sitting on his porch with a bowl full of candy?

He didn't know, he really didn't. It was just an urge that, for whatever reason, he acted on. The previous night, he went out and bought as much candy as he could afford, along with a little purple bowl to hold it all in. Instead of following his usual tradition of keeping his door locked tight and hiding out in his room until the next day, he sat on his completely undecorated porch and waited. Just..waited, which is what he was pretty sure he was supposed to be doing? Hopefully? He hadn't celebrated Halloween in, like, fifteen years, so he had no idea, honestly.

But, hey, Damian figured that, for once, he could put his own feelings aside and make people happy with some candy. Oh, but he was pretty sure most of the candy wasn't vegan, so he couldn't even indulge in any leftovers once the night passed. Huh. He was really bad at thinking things through.
Mina Calico (played by JoJoApples)

((Im gonna be a brave person and respond))

Mina raced ahead of her parents, dressed like Mulan. She was excited for halloween. Free candy was such a treat. Shed earned this for, being such a good girl and keeping her parents safe!

Mina went up onto, the porch with the man sitting on it she noticed he looked a bit grumpy, but she didnt care.

"Trick or Treat, mister!" she says quite loudly. Her parents running to catch up with her.

"Mina! Dont run off like that!" Her mother scolded.

"Oh sorry mum." Mina looked at her parents,"I wont do it again."

The parents smiled at her,"we know." they said and looked at Damien. They thanked him for doing this.
Smiling (played by XenoZilla)

Smilie loved Halloween! It was one of the best holiday for spookiness and sweets though really most of his candy would be confiscated before he could indulge in making himself hideously ill which was certainly no fun at all but he could do his best in partaking in the time honored tradition of begging for free candy with enthusiasm.

The four-legged abomination would trot up to the porch, pumpkin basket held in his mouth by the handle. Tail swishing side to side, he lowered his head to set the empty basket down and stare up with lidless and milky white eyes and a near perpetual grin. "Friend, hello. Trick or treat." His 'costume' was rather minimal, a greyish blue shark fin strapped to his back though the odd dog hardly needed a costume at all with a face like that.

Damian's entire face lit up when he noticed the young girl's excitement, leaning forward slightly and reaching into the bowl in his lap. He grabbed a handful of candy and dropped it into her bag.

"Hello!" He chirped, "Happy Halloween!"

He looked up to the parents when they thanked him, and responded with a small nod. "Oh, you're welcome," He said, still grinning from ear to ear. He hated Halloween, but at least he made some kid's night happier; she was enjoying it more than he ever did as a child, y'know?

Out of the corner of his eye, Damian noticed someone else heading up to his porch, but the closer they got, the more confused Damian grew. He squinted into the distance and wondered what he could possibly be looking at because it..definitely wasn't humanoid. A stray dog, maybe?

Once he could really see the dog, his eyes widened in terror at the..oh, Christ, why did it look like that? What was wrong with it? He was unable to peel his eyes away from the abomination-dog-thing that happily trotted up to him, his stomach churning and the color completely draining from his face as he stared in complete and utter horror.

And then it..spoke? Why could it speak, God, why, why was this happening to Damian specifically, this is why he hated Halloween. Why did this happen? Lord.

..That was definitely some person's extremely intricate, very detailed, very disturbing dog costume. They made those. Yeah. Okay. This dog was a person. Excellent. Damian unknowingly nodded to himself in confirmation as he finally looked away from the dog and reached into the bowl.

Very realistic dog costume. Got it. Nothing to be afraid of. He was a grown man, why was he getting afraid of costumes?

"Uh..happy Halloween," He said as he dropped the handful of candy into the dog's bucket, his voice much weaker than it was just moment's before. He gave a shaky, forced smile and hoped the person in the dog costume would just..run away and never come back. He avoided saying anything else just because he hoped that it would make this person go away sooner.
Serena finally got her wish, her day off work and what a better way to spend it than visiting the wise warlock Taff for a special treat.

Little did she know that the sip of the vial she took would send her to a party... in some distant future and location she knew nothing about, exciting and scary experience in equal measure.

The spell wouldn't last long but it surely felt good to have a day of freedom to roam and talk rather than yet another gruelling day with cleaning chores. She stood up from the fall and dusted her dress and made her way forward following the delicious sweet smell of candy.

"Good day to you ..." saluted in a friendly smile and relaxed tone of voice, wondering what did they do with all these candy and decorations and whether she would get any after all
Drew Howler (played by FlamingPsycho)

By now, Drew was probably too old to go around trick-or-treating every Halloween.

However, seeing how nobody could stop him, he did this every year and would continue until he was hundreds of years old. He headed to the first house, towards the man sitting on the stoop. He had chosen this year to dress as a Wendigo, and peered through the thin eyeholes of his mask as he stood in front of the man with the bowl of candy.

"Trick or treat!" He smiled wide, holding out the bucket he was filling.
Rose (played by Foxy_TheWarrior)

Foxy walked around with a bucket for candy. She was dressed up as a pirate fox for halloween. She walked to a house. "Trick or treat" Said the little fox, dressed up as a pirate.
Serena looked curious at the two companions, both of which had stated the traditional unknown greeting and felt rather awkwardly out of place for not having said the same.

She turned to the host and grinned to make up for this misshap

"Trick or treat" mentioned Serena unsure of the consequences or purpose for saying such words but following the others' lead

Mina squealed,"Mom, Dad look how much be gave me! Thank you!" the parents laughed and the mother took her daughters hand. They turned to leave when the dog horror came onto the porch.

Mina wilted and hid in her mothers skirt, even the father appeared shaken, they quickly rushed their daughter away, past an old looking guy (really now, wasnt he too old for trick or treating?) Mina honestly admired the guy, vowing to be like him some day.

They didnt notice Serena in all the chaos however. And they went away to other houses for candy.

Smilie's tail continued to wag, the corners of his moth curling upward higher than they should have. Rather oblivious to any discomfort his appearance caused to not only the candy giver but to others as well, he watched wide eyed as the handful of candy was put into the bucket. He had only expected a single piece and he was being given a handful! Such a generous new friend! Excitedly he whined, tempted to eat his candy there but custom dictated he had to wait and rules were rules. "Friend, very happy Halloween. Thank you." The handle of his pumpkin was picked up between his teeth as he turned to navigate his way around other trick-or-treaters to say hello to more new friends and continue the quest for candy!
Vile (played by Asroc)

"Humans... huff... such a stupid holiday..."

Even one would or think he was some person wearing a halloween costume... that is if he didn't give himself a dye job. Vile casually had his body armour painted in the same way a certain character from Star Wars would be. Who was it? Boba Fett? Perfect. It wasn't like he could wear human clothing. A reploid wearing human clothing would be weird. Well in his own vision it would be.

HE wanted to try these sugary, sweet, human teeth rotting things called "Candy". What were they like? More humanoid reploids and some of the animal ones did consume human food. The only human food he had tried before was wisky and brandy. Two drinks.

"Pah... noisy humans... if one is dressed as that X... I would..."

He had to keep himself under control. Seeing something, the surly, lone wolf reploid would head over to that said house. Looking at them and hearing what other humans would utter, he wondered if he would get something in return. However, he tried one thing. One long, cold, dark stare, wondering if he should say anything.

"..Uh, y-yeah, uh, you're welcome," Damian mumbled, blinking rapidly and turning towards the other trick or treaters that appeared. He silently agreed to himself to never think about that dog costume ever again.

Damian had no idea how or when, like, five hundred trick or treaters suddenly stormed onto his porch, but he was very overwhelmed about it. They all seemed to be speaking at once, a chorus of the usual Halloween stock phrases, and his head was suddenly spinning from it all. He hadn't gotten this much socialization in..an embarrassingly long amount of time, really.

He looked to the lady dressed up in what looked like some sort of fantasy, medieval type of costume with a small smile. He thought the greeting was awkwardly formal, but he didn't comment on it. Instead, he softly wished her a happy Halloween, but when he grabbed the handful of candy and reached over to give it to her, he noticed that she didn't have a bag.

"Oh, uh, do you have, like..any pockets, or something to carry this in?" He asked her.

Drew Howler wrote:

While Damian waited for her to answer, he reached into the bowl with his free hand and scooped up another handful of candy for the next person. He wasn't quite sure what their costume was, but whatever it was, it was definitely interesting. "Here ya go," He said, "Your costume looks really nice. I have no clue what it is, but, hey."

FoxyTheWarrior wrote:

Damian loved the little fox-pirate hybrid costume, but he had no idea why so many people were just dressed up in those intricate animal costumes? Huh. He had no idea, but this fox costume was certainly better than--

No, he wasn't going to think about that one. No need to give himself nightmares.

He dumped a handful of candy into the fox-pirate's bag with a smile. "Happy Halloween," He told her, unsure of what else to say.

Damian glanced up to the stranger in armor, feeling a little intimidated by his silence. As he did with the others, he reached into the bowl of candy and held it out to him. "Uh, happy Halloween," He chirped in an attempt to sound cheerful, but this guy was making him a little uneasy, and it leaked into his voice. Staring was weird.
Vile (played by Asroc)

"As you humans would say..."

It really pained him to say this. He had to say it. It had to get it over with. "Trick... or treat..."

His tone was so monotone and bored, as if he was pushed to do such a thing.
Drew Howler (played by FlamingPsycho)

"Thank you!" He grinned wide, skipping away to the next house on his list. Ooh, how he loved candy.
Serena smiled and nodded picking the front of the orange apron closer and higher to make a well or pocket of sorts, big enough for some sweets.I

"Will this do kind sir? Or would you have me fetch a leather pouch?" Quizzed Serena well used to doing other's bidding

Damian gave her a bit of a confused look, still finding her way of speaking, strange, but, again, he didn't say anything about it. He figured she was just getting into character and having fun, or something. With a small, polite smile, he dumped the handful of candy into her apron, hoping that it wouldn't just fall out the second she started walking. He could go get her something, but he didn't really want to hop up and leave just to go grab a plastic bag, or something. Still though, it was really rude not to, and--

Ah, hell. Why was he having such a moral dilemma over this?

"Happy Halloween," He told her, "Have a good night."

Vile wrote:

The intimidating stranger in armor only made Damian even more intimidated when he finally spoke. "As you humans would say," seemed like a very..ominous way to start a sentence, in his opinion. But, hey, this guy was also probably getting into character, just in a creepier way.

Still, though, he didn't seem to be having a lot of fun. Damian didn't comment on that; instead, he reached out with his usual handful of candy and, seeing that this stranger also didn't appear to have any sort of bag, Damian just silently waited for him to take the candy. He was a little too intimidated to talk to this guy, to be honest.
Lani never really understood the human holiday of All Hallow's Eve, Halloween, Samhain, and whatever other title's that they had for the holiday. She enjoyed it, sure. It was a night that allowed for a lot of abandonment to certain limitations... much like other celebratory holidays, certainly. Though, the most curious thing to Arulania was how little human kids played dress up and went around to other people's houses to ask for candy in the most curious fashion.

'Trick or treat!'

Truly... curious indeed.

Mostly, Lani would indulge herself at the local bar or tavern, having fun with some of her friends. The costumes were always fun in some cases, though Arulania never really partook in dressing up. The most that she really 'dressed up' in was her normal attire of her ranger or hunter's gear. So... she was definitely clad in leathers and had her forest green cloak trailing after her. Her bow was secure on her person, and her quiver hugged her thigh, arrows secure and ready in case anything were to go awry.

Following along after a small crowd, Arulania soon found herself at a home with a few beings there, and then a human who was giving out candy. Patting at her pouch, Arulania untied it from her person and approached the crowd, attempting to find a good opportunity to speak.

"Trick or treat~?"
Serena clutched onto the apron tightly, waving with the other hand at the gracious host

"Thank you for your generosity... I shall be sure to return next year if I can" smiled Serena making her way out with haste so that she wouldn't distract Damian or prevent him from tending the other guests and new arrivals

All in all she had seen nice people, she had gotten quite a few candies and it had been a pleasant enough evening.
By the time the hour went by and the spell wore off, she returned to her world, by her good friend Taff the warlock

"Sooo I take it you had a good time and the magic worked, uh?" quizzed Taff happy for his friend, seeing her honest smile.

gwen-merlin-happy-for-gaius.png

"Indeed...thank you Taff..." nodded Serena told him all what she had done and seen and heard, sharing the sweets as they talked away before returning to her maid duties and he returned to his manservant ones.

Damian glanced up at his next visitor, who he assumed was dressed up in some sort of elf costume. Her costume seemed to be very intricate; she was even carrying a bow, which Damian thought was kind of incredible and dedicated but also probably illegal. He was almost one-hundred-percent sure that was illegal. Nonetheless, he admired her because he definitely did not have the courage to carry an entire bow around with him on Halloween.

"Here you go," Damian said with a smile, dumping the usual handful of candy in her pouch. As he reached out, though, he realized that he was getting a lot more visitors than expected and would probably have to tone down the amount of candy he was giving out.

Without really thinking, he suddenly added, "Hey, uh, I'm not gonna tell anyone, but, like..isn't carrying weapons on Halloween illegal? Or something?"

His tone wasn't unkind or accusatory, just as curiously friendly as he could be.
Nightfrost walked around the neighborhood and found it a perfect opportunity to let some of her natural form out. Black scales with silver and blue markings outlined her face and neck while they completely covered her clawed hands and her normally pale arms and legs. She had large wings that appeared to have galaxies in them, and a black tail with a couple of spikes on the end of it curled up behind her. Her emerald green eyes had slits as pupils and to give it a more Halloween feeling she was wearing an appropriately torn tank top and pants that went just past her knees. She had a leather pouch to collect the candy in.

She saw Damian at the door and smiled, showing fangs. She had always been a little confused as to where you should ask and where you shouldn't as she had never done any Halloween activities in her old home. Nightfrost walked up and she waited for Damian to finish his sentence before smiling and speaking in a slightly shy manner. "T-Trick or treat!"
