The elemental who was Alecto watched impassively as the Fiendfyre roamed, engulfing the old manor house. She could have stopped it at any time of course, but the house was foul and needed to go. She kept watch to ensure that the fire did not spread further to the forest at the back of the property. A soul-shattering cry suddenly pierced through the flames, and the whole structure collapsed on itself. After a while, Alecto smothered the flames, but frowned at the sight of the hideous ruins. Apparently, even Fiendfyre had not been enough to purge the wickedness of this place. She huffed, then with a thought summoned a higher fire, an Alchemist fire, black flames dancing eerily, almost unseen, reducing everything to dust and to ash, back into the black earth. Where there was once the manor now stood a black gaping hole. She scrunched her nose, and added another cleansing; nothing of the stench should remain. And yet, she could still feel it, lingering in the air, maybe from the direction of the corpse of trees behind her. Had she missed a spot?
