(Hey guys! So I've taken a really long break from RPR due to personal reasons, but I'm in need of a distraction so I'm back and ready to get my RP on! This is about as much of a plot as I can come up with for now, but I am definitely open to discussing where we should take it from here! You can play as a human or as a monster, I only ask that you don't be OP, meaning that if you play a magical creature, you have a weakness of some kind. I also like 3-6 paragraphs in my responses, so I try to put as much detail as I can. I try not to do one-liners whenever I can. And as much as I like lengthy responses, I will typically try to match the post length of my partners, though I understand that writers block happens or things happen, so if you're ever stumped for ideas I'm always up for bouncing around ideas to get the flow going! And if you ARE interested, you can respond here or you can PM me and I'll respond when I can! Other than that I just want to say thanks for taking the time to read and I'm looking forward to rping with you! ^-^)
The year is 1692. You find yourself standing just outside the gates of the town Lingmell, staring inside at its bustling streets. You've heard rumors about this place before, but staring at it now, you would be left without words at the sight. The town is bright and the streets are clean. The streets buzz with life and the sound of chatter amongst it's residents rises in the air like fog in the early morning. There is even the smell of bread rolls and other baked goods wafting in the air. It almost seems foolish to think that a town like this carried any secrets at all. You see, rumors have traveled from town to town about Lingmell, saying that it's infested with monsters. Some so human-like that they are the very visage of the reflection humans see in themselves. Some so grotesque that they wouldn't dare dream of any form of acceptance from the humans. Now, every town has their own "monster problem" per say, and the humans have been working feverishly to....eradicate them, so to speak. Even going to such extremes as public lynchings and chasing the monstrosities off their land with torches and pitchforks. While every town has their own problem, they say that Lingmell is on the verge of being the first town to have completely taken care of its problem. It was said there were monsters here...but from the sight in front of you alone, it's as if there were never any monsters at all!
Whether it be your inane curiosity, your intrigue for the truth, or maybe you've never seen a real monster before and just wanted to see one; whatever the reason, Lingmell has you standing at its front gates. You're debating with yourself what you ought to do. However you may or may not notice a girl clad in a black cloak slipping through the cracks lining the wall, far off on your left. She looks around as if making sure she isn't seen, before tucking something under her cloak and walking towards the expansive forest with a quickness in her step, draping the hood of her cloak over her face to conceal her identity. If you did notice her, maybe your curiosity is peaked and you can't help but stare between Lingmell, and the direction in which the girl was headed, a bigger question bubbling inside your brain. Should you just go in and look around, see if you can find one of those acclaimed monsters? Or if you're human, do you go in to see if the town is as safe as the rumors claim it to be? If for the hunt for monsters has brought you here, do you turn around and head back to the same life that brought you here to begin with? And if you have a love for adventure, do you follow the girl and see where the road takes you?
Well my friend, that decision is entirely up to you.
