(Feel free to knock on the door just for the treats, or stay awhile for the party he's throwing inside.)
The house wasn't his, but instead was an abandoned and likely even condemned old mansion that the young hybrid had broken into and decorated for the occasion. He didn't clean it up too much, if only to add to the eerie vibe, leaving the cobwebs in the corners and even opting to grab a fog machine to fill the place with a knee height layer of thick mist. It was said to be haunted, and he hoped with everything in him that a ghost or two joined the party later. A large bowl of candy sat by the door for the trick or treaters brave enough to approach such a house. The windows gave off a sinister red glow from the colored lanterns he'd strategically placed inside.
For the party, there was a large DJ booth and he had invited a very specific magician to come and show off later in the night. They weren't friends, but he had heard of Damien King in passing. Time would tell if he really showed or not (his player is generally insanely busy). Anywho, the dance floor was massive, decorated with moving spooky themed images from lights overhead. Rock music was blaring, reverberating through every inch of that lithe form of his as it moved to nit pick at the final touches. He had set up a buffet off to the side and even a photo booth in a dark corner. Mars hoped Kam showed up later too honestly so he could get a pic or two with her to spitefully send to her bro. He and Kam weren't a thing, just friends, but the brother was convinced otherwise. Ahh well. For now, the hybrid went back to focusing on who was already here. There were a few werewolves, angels, felines, likely just humans in costume, as well as a vamp or two with fake fangs and someone dressed as Frankenstein that was shying away from the others.
Mars himself was dressed as Venom in a form fitting suit that resembled a material cross between under armor and thick spandex. He didn't have a mask, yet.. but his eyes had white contacts on them to completely eliminate the pupil and iris. That shaggy black hair was as unkempt as ever, but fit him well given that edgy vibe he generally had going for him. Thick black eyeliner was caked beneath those eerie eyes and smudged while black veiny vines had been drawn crawling up his face and neck to try and capture the symbiote host look. He cracked gloved knuckles and shifted white eyes towards the door briefly, hoping to hear a knock. He could have sworn that enhanced hearing of his picked up a giggle or two, but maybe it was just his imagination?

A young lady came for the party. She was not spooked 1 bit. Ghosts don’t scare her she was friends with many. She knocked on the door. She waited and move a hair out of her face. She looked around.
He headed to the door when he heard a knock and twisted the knob. A haunting smile was aimed at the girl on the other side as he spoke up, "Hello there! Are you here for candy only or would you like to stay for the party?" If she said candy, the hybrid would reach for the bowl by the door. If party, he'd slide out of the way and hold the door open for her. The rock music was amplified with the door open, the sounds breaking the silence of the night air.
“ party.” She said. Her voice pretty yet something about her was diffrent. “ nice place.” She noticed a ghoast and greeted in. She giggled as it told her a joke. Ghoast was a friend of hers. The ghost “ don’t keep her waiting we have a party to start!”
It was supposed to be a simple night of trick-or-treating for Merrin and her best friend Ryuuji. The fungus peddler had decided on a simple route and donned a witch's costume... That is, if the witch was also a lolita whose outfit wasn't simple at all. Her witch's hat had a long, sheer black veil attached to the brim, which shaded the dark frills and lace that adorned her from head to toe. Her bell-sleeve covered arms made the transparent fabric rise while she made her usual cheerful motions. Even the stockings she chose were trimmed with dark lace and held up by dainty bat garters. Most of her face was hidden under the veil; unlike the rest of her, her visage was simply painted with black lips, eyeliner, and a smile which made her blue eyes glimmer.
She giggled alongside her male companion, who had chosen a more up to date style for his costume. Black punk and dark makeup was the name of the game for this feisty redhead, as he was dressed as your typical (or stereotypical) urban vampire from modern-day fiction. A black tattered shirt and a white undershirt was covered by a chained leather jacket that wrapped neatly around his frame. Long chains and crosses dangled from the hips of his black jeans, clanking and tinkling with his every step. His various piercings were on their usual full display, as if they were a normal part of his costume rather than something he wore every day while meeting up with Merrin. The only thing that sold the fact that he was supposed to be a vampire instead of a very surly rocker going to a mosh pit was the fake fangs attached to his real teeth and the Hollywood blood that dripped down his chin and stained his black painted and pierced lip.
After a while of giddy idle chatter, Merrin spoke up. "So, Mr. Ryuuji," the dark-skinned witch mused as she double-checked her cauldron pail already filled with candies, "Where do we go next? There's a lot of houses here and not that much time, you know?"
"Yeah, yeah..." Ryuuji agreed, scratching the back of his head that wasn't holding his plastic bag of candy, "Maybe we shoulda done this whole thing sooner, eh? But uh... Hmm?" He looked up from his train of thought, the creepy old manor with the eerie red lights catching his eye. "Whoa-hoh..." A grin split his cheeks wide open. Someone seemingly in costume was already there, so that meant it was a Halloween attraction, right?
"Well, would ya look at that?" He cheered, "We got something good goin' on over here!" Grabbing Merrin's other hand, he tugged at her to follow him. "Let's go check it out, Merrin!"
"A-are you sure, Mr. Ryuuji? I mean..." She glanced over his frame to get a better look at the house, "It's really kinda scary..."
"Vut that's the whole point of Halloveen, my dearie!" Ryuuji mocked in a Draculian accent, complete with a dramatic and flowing pose that threw his free arm wide open before shifting back to his usual tone, "Houses like this are a dime a dozen," he shrugged. He then squeezed the palm of Merrin's hand. "C'mon, we'll be fine, all right?"
The encouragement was enough for Merrin to murmur a bit, then nod. "But I'm still a bit scared, though... Um... ...Okay. But... Only for, for the candy, okay? I don't wanna stay for too long, mm..."
Ryuuji was already dragging her to the front door as soon as she gave her consent to go forward. "All right, all right, we'll stay for the candy... But if there's a wicked party goin', we gotta check it out. Promise?"
The mushroom selling witch relented to his words. Parties were fun after all, and it usually meant even more candy than what's at the door. Or at least that's what he always said to her anyway when it came to houses like this. "P-Promise." Straightening her hat a bit, she waited as Ryuuji tried knocking on the door with a prideful air befitting a vampire... Only to realize the door was already open and the apparent host was talking to the people who had arrived before them. Merrin chuckled as the redhead sheepishly moved his fist to scratch behind his head again.
While they waited for the host to address them, she gave a simple wave to the white haired female who was about to go in. "H-hi," she said as the two buddies waited for a response. Whether it came from the host or the girl in costume entering was uncertain at the moment.

"A'ight, sweet!" he grinned when 'party' was chosen, "Thanks, it's a one-time rental type deal, haha. Have fun!" He motioned for them to head inside and glanced at the next duo that happened to be waiting in line. A witch and a vampire, very classy; in his own opinion at least. Mars was always a fan of the classic costumes rather than these new Transformers and what not running around where a kid turns into a dang car right there on your doorstep. It was amusing, sure, but not his cup of tea.
That enhanced hearing of his had picked up bits and pieces of the convo the couple were tossing back and forth before coming over and he gave the unsure female his warmest smile to hopefully ease her fear just a tad. "Hellloooo~" he greeted them both in a cheery fashion, despite his edgy 'less than cheery' getup. "Would you guys simply like treats or did you come to party?" he offered them the same question he'd offered the previous. He glanced over his shoulder as one of the costumed guests squealed when 'her jam' came on and started twisting and turning across the dancefloor like she was in a music video or something. A soft amused laugh rippled past those smirking lips as he turned his attention back on the two at the door again.

Merrin blinked with a smile as she and her friend was addressed, while Ryuuji perked up his attention and raised his head to get a good look at the source of the cheers coming from inside the manor. If he wasn't dead set on going in to join whatever festivities were in store for the night, he was all in now.
"Oh, we are so here for the party, man!" Ryuuji responded with no small amount of hype in his voice as he flashed a fake fanged grin in the edgy male's direction. "What all you got going on in there, anyway? Aside from the bumpin' music, that is."
While the redhead was showing off his usual friendliness to contrast his gangster look, the dark-skinned girl beside him made a slight lean to the side so she could get a better look into the creepy old manor. Even though she seemed nervous (and shy since she was letting Ryuuji do all the talking), she was very much curious about what was inside. Maybe it was worth passing up the treats for now? Though she did want those too, as her eyes flickered over the candy bowl and then at the host before tugging at her companion's arm as a subtle hint.
"Eh?" Turning to Merrin and meeting her pleading gaze, he raised an amused eyebrow and smirked before giving the host his attention again, motioning to her for emphasis, "Oh, and uh... Can we get the treats too? This one here won't let it be until she knows what's what."

"Heck yeah!" Mars grinned at the hype. He appreciated that type of enthusiasm, as he put forth a ton of work on this thing tonight. "Well, I laid out a banquet of random goodies and drinks, ghost hunting upstairs for those brave enough, and hopefully a pretty dope magician to show up before the night is over. There's a DJ booth too, if either of you guys wanna show off some skills? Haha!"
Mars moved to the side a bit when he noticed Merrin leaning, allowing her a better view at what was going on behind him. "Promise I won't let them bite," he smiled warmly at her, "Pretty sure your vamp friend can ward off any ghouls too if you need him to. Right mate?" Through those contacts he barely noticed the flick of her eyes to the candy bowl and reached to grab it and hold it out to her. "Treats for your bag first, then party time? That sound like a deal to you Witchy Woman?" he smirked playfully, giving the vampire another warm smile as well, "Same goes for you Vamp, go ahead and grab a few treats for the road later too?"
If and when they would decide to come inside, Mars would easily move out of the way and allow them to pass before shutting the door until it was knocked on again. Let the good times roll!

The more Ryuuji heard, the more he wanted in so bad. Food and drink? Yes. Ghost hunting? Heck yes. Magician? Not bad, but more of Merrin's cup of tea, which was always a good thing in his eyes. Dancing, however?
"You wanna see some skills on the dance floor? I'm all over that. Choreographer in the making right here!" He grinned as he pointed to himself, his enthusiam heightened by the fact that there's a dance floor he can show off on.
Merrin looked up towards the host as he reassured her of her safety, especially if Ryuuji was by her side, and her sheepish smile brightened a little. She was definitely starting to warm up to the idea of going inside; the person throwing the party seemed to be a real charmer, if that was anything to go by.
"Yeah, man!" Her friend chimed in, "You gotta lighten up, Merri-Mer! Where's that spirit you were showing me earlier? Eh? Eh?" The redhead nudged at her arm with a playful finger, and she gave a light snicker while swatting his hand away.
Whatever leftover unease she held melted away when the host offered them the bowl of sweets, and she spoke up at last. "Thank you, mister...?" she said, as a small hint to at least get a name from the man. If she did earn his name, great! If not, she wouldn't question it (too much) until later on. Regardless, she would make a tentative reach towards the bowl for a few pieces of candy. If she wasn't stopped, she would put them into her bag and wait for Ryuuji to follow her lead.
"Oh, I'm always good for treats for the road, man," he said while he got his own handful of sweets, "Always good." A click of his teeth with a wink accompanied that statement.
As soon as they both got their sugary sweets, the vampire brought his full attention back to Merrin with a cheeky smile. "Let's get this party really started!" He cheered as he linked his arm inside her own. Strutting his way forward with a wild 'woop,' no complaints or dragging feet came from the peddler beside him. In fact, she was holding back a giggle as she tried to keep pace with him into the manor. She was always happy to see her pal so excited. Maybe... Maybe this will be a lot of fun after all.

Kosma sat down and a couple of ghosts entertained her and giggled. Kosma at a candy.. she looked at the host and the ghosts made jokes about the host and kosma. Kosma was half amused. Theses ghost where nice but had a evil streak as well.
"Awesome," Mars grinned in regards to the dancing skills, "I'm horrible myself, but the chick back there now isn't half bad either. Maybe you can show her how its done?" Mars was indeed a charmer when he tried, taking after his flirtatious father in that regard. His mother was more of a sweetheart, bubbly and kind hearted. Maybe he got a bit of that too in the way he was reassuring the girl?
He chuckled when the duo playfully teased and swatted at one another, grinning again when she thanked him for the treats and asked for a name. "Mars," he told her, "Mars Mayhem. It's a pleasure to meet you both." If they wanted to give names in return, now was their chance. If not, that was cool too as he'd go on to call them 'Witchy Woman' and 'Vamp' for the rest of the party. Mars had no intention of stopping her from getting the treats he'd offered them, holding still until they both got said treats before putting the bowl beside the door again after they passed by.
Another soft laugh left him in amusement when the vampire strutted inside. He liked that guy. The shy little Frankenstein that was off to himself had slooowly inched closer to the dancefloor, Mars noticed with a fond smile on his features. He didn't know the green monster from anyone else, but he liked seeing the scared warm up and come out of their shells, much like he was enjoying seeing Merrin more at ease. Frankenstein would probably inch closer and closer throughout the night until he was eventually also on the floor, but it would be a long process without coaxing.
As the duo mingled and such, Mars glanced to the girl that was giggling with the ghosts. He scrunched his nose up at her goofily when she looked his way and laughed lightly before turning his attention back to the rest of the party again for the moment. It seemed the ghosts had her entertained for the moment. The hybrid saw no harm in her chatting up the spirits, actually relieved the ghosts that visited the party down here were behaving for now. Casper? That you?

the ghosts then started to pull pranks on the guests. wanting to have fun while one was dancing with kosma. kosma laughed at the pranks. she giggled at mars. she seemed sweet and ghosts really liked her. mars even over heard how the they wanted to make the girl kosma the owner of the house since they enjoyed her. then they could party all night.
Every October a veritable smorgasbord of Halloween Parties filled the nights. Most had annoying music that hurt her ears, fake fog that left her nose itching, and a slew of guests in various states of sloshed, she had to admit, but what they also tended to have was food, lots and lots of food. Most of it was tasty, fresh, and high calorie too. The good stuff. Krepta had decided to make a habit of taking advantage of that fact this year.
She had picked up a cheap costume somewhere. She couldn't remember where at this point. It was a devil costume-- really not much more than a pin on forked tail, and red horns on a hairband. She had thought it was funny, in an ironic sort of way, even if she would be the only one getting the joke.
Most people at the big parties didn't look twice as long as you were wearing something festive anyway.
Krepta had caught wind of another growing one up the street, mostly by word of mouth. Her nose had led her the rest of the way, tugging her stomach along after it. She paused at the door to the house, green eyes wary for a moment. Someone had left the door open a crack. That was good! She could just... slide inside without worrying about socializing too much, but she needed to think up an excuse if she got caught...
Usually she just said she was the friend of a friend of someone arriving later, and that they had invited a whole bunch of them. If those 'friends' failed to show up later? Usually no one noticed.
The shapeshifter tucked a stand of long hair behind one fake horn and pushed open the door.

“Oh, it is on!” the redhead smirked; if nothing else, he was always up for a good challenge... Especially a dancing challenge. But the mushroom seller was the first to speak this time when it came to introductions. “It's, it's nice to meet you!” the girl spoke with a mild tenor, “I'm Merrin, Merrin Bedford. And this is...”
“Ryuuji Takahashi, always at your service~” The man next to her teased while clicking a heel and giving a flourishing bow. Then he looked up with that stupid grin of his. “Naw, for real man. Great to meet ya... Mars, yeah? Cool name, by the way!” If there was nothing else to be said, it was time to party!
As they made their way inside, the excited dancer made a beeline straight to the dance floor, all while coaxing Merrin to come and tag along with him.
“Uh, Ryuuji... I'm not much of a, a...” She was starting to flounder, and the vampire wasn't having that tonight. Not when he's seen her at her most vivacious already.
“Aw, don't be like that, Merrin! I got ya in here, right?” He shot her a pleading pout and a fang-filled smile, batting his eyelids before winking at her, “Ya gotta dance at least once for me, hmm...?”
“Well...” Looking around, she also spotted the shy Frankenstein tiptoeing towards the dance floor. Seems like they were much more shy than the witch by a long shot. “I suppose... But maybe that guy might want a bit of help, too?”
“Huh?” Ryuuji followed her gaze towards the party-goer, and gave another grin. “Aw, we got another shy one over here, eh? Well, we'll fix that right up.” Keeping a steady hold on the girl's hand, they walked over to the wary monster. “Yo! What's up?” He called out, raising a hand in the air to wave at them.
If Ryuuji got his attention, then that was the part-timer's move to keep talking. However, even if he was at his most cheerful, he still looked like a scary gangster to a regular person... Costume or not. He might end up scaring the poor Frankenstein away if he wasn't careful. At least Merrin was right next to him so she could help soften the first impression. If nothing else, she knew how it was to be shy. Well, not so much shy: just very, very quiet.

The abrupt shift in music signaled the arrival of the magician that Mars mentioned. He was late, because his player is swamped and playing catch up with a handful of people in his inbox also, but he made it; all that matters. The vampire was at the DJ booth wearing a sleek black button down shirt he'd rolled up to his elbows, a red tie, a masquerade mask and those famous converse he wore practically everywhere. His chocolate gaze noticed the devil creeping into the building first, and he motioned for her to come on inside with two fingers before speaking up to the rest of the crowd through the mic on the DJ stand. "Ladies and gentlemen, ghosts and goblins, monsters of all ages~" his voice was soft spoken, yet deliberate and graceful, as well as deep with a touch of a British undertone, "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Damien King." The music was still playing from the speakers and he was talking over it with each delicate word that danced through pearly fangs and past pale lips. "Let's raise the dead, shall we?" he grinned brightly, giving Mars a wave before getting back to business. The DJ'ing card thrower was doing his thing at the booth for now, keeping things simple and saving his best for later on. However, a deck of cards was taken from his back pocket so that he could perform elegant cardistry for any who may have looked his way.
That gaze had already moved over the others by now as well; the girl with the ghosts, the vampire, the witch, and even Frankenstein as the others were trying to coax him into dancing. "Come on Frankie, show us your stuff man," he said into the mic with a playful tone, "Ain't nobody here gonna judge you. If they do, send them over and I'll make them disappear." When he'd said the word 'disappear', his cards he'd been playing with for a few moments vanished into thin air. The magician grinned and focused on his beats again for now. King's eyes kept straying back to the devil from before, curious orbs watching her from just behind that mask of his. King's own form moved to the music gently behind that DJ booth, his tie swaying with each shifting motion.
Krepta caught the gesture and froze, but then realized the DJ was motioning her in. Oh good, they were going to make things easy for her. She wouldn't have to lie her pants off just yet, which was good, because she wasn't feeling terribly creative tonight. She flashed him a quick smile and a wink and slipped the rest of the way inside, winding through the crowd in a determined path to the buffet table.
It didn't seem like she was interested much in the music. There was no swaying hips or rhythmic steps. Krepta's musical tastes lay elsewhere-- usually outside 'bass so loud you could feel it in your ribcage'. Something else however, kept snatching the strange new comer's attention. She kept turning her head, pausing like a wolf in the woods, staring-- and one could even imagine that every now and then her nostrils flared as if she were sniffing the air. But probably not, because that would be weird, right?
Eventually the dollar store devil reached her destination and immediately began piling her plate far too high. She got a few incredulous looks from her neighbors, but a quick grin with a few too many teeth sent most of them scuttling away in a flurry of nervous laughter.
From the look of Krepta-- she certainly didn't seem like the type to devour the mountain of food she was currently ferrying to that quiet, dark corner. While far from her skin and bone days, she was all wiry muscle beneath those clothes. As she nestled down in her little hideaway somewhere behind the DJ booth and began to tuck in, however, it was clear that she intended to do just that.
She watched the DJ with half hearted interest. Card tricks drew her attention somewhat more than thumping party music and flashing lights. She tilted her head and narrowed her eyes as she watched him, keen on trying to pick up the trick to try on her own later if she could. He was good-- she'd give him that.
Bit of a show off though, she thought, and the corners of her mouth quirked up just a bit. But that's the nature of the game, isn't it?
She paused to scent the air again. Something was bothering her, but she couldn't put her finger on what. Maybe it was just that this place had been all but abandoned a few weeks ago, she was almost sure of it. She rather doubted their current hosts were any sort of native spooks, but some pretty sordid rumors surrounded the place if the local teens were to be believed.
If any of those rumors were true, it seemed the spirits were holding onto their secrets for now. Perhaps that was for the best.

As far as Kosma taking over ownership of the house, that was all cool with him AFTER the party ended. It wasn't even his house so he didn't care who grabbed it after he was done 'borrowing' it for the night. He smiled warmly when the introductions were received, laughing gently at Ryuuji's enthusiasm. Again, he liked that guy. He seemed like a fun person to hang with. Mars nodded, a grin spreading over his features, "Thanks, was named after the Roman god of war." He hadn't anything more to add, and had slid back into the crowd himself for the time being, listening for more knocks on the door.
Mars blinked in confusion when the music shifted, eyes going to the DJ booth and then widening in excitement. It was about damn time. He blinked again when King motioned at someone, turning his attention to the door and feeling a tad concerned that he hadn't heard it even open. He also hadn't heard King show up. Buuut.. King wasn't human. Mars had no way of knowing that right off, but he did note the set of crazy realistic fangs. Anywho, the devil was with King, noted. Right, as far as he knew..
Frankenstein flinched at first when called out to but timidly raised a hand to wave in return after glancing around to make sure it was him being waved at and not someone behind him or something. Frankenstein glanced to Merrin, then back at Ryuuji. Oh yeah, he definitely wanted to run from the thug looking dude, but the girl settled his nerves some. His name over the loud speaker had his eyes growing wide as he looked at the DJ in awe. He wasn't good with attention, but a ghost of a smile did spread over his lips at the disappearing act and kind words. Frankie inchy inched closer to Ryuuji and Merrin, his voice quiet as he better greated them, "H-hello." His voice was so soft and breathy that it was probably kinda hard to hear over the pounding music but he wasn't the type to yell out words if he could help it. Frankie was scrawny up close, and probably only 5'5" or so in height but that little smile of his was still haunting in an.. odd.. sort of way.

He glanced at Kosma when she sighed, his ears only baaarely picking it up over the pounding music. She seemed content with the ghosts moments prior so he'd left her alone to her vices but now she seemed distressed. Or bored maybe? Determined to lift her spirits back up, Mars headed over to chat for a bit. "What's up?" he asked casually once he weaved through the crowd and made it close enough to be heard.
((Let me add that the deadline for raffle entries has been extended and will now end on Nov. 3 at 4:00 am EST. This is to give a few more people a chance to enter.))
