Deirdre groaned as Alain set her against the wall and watched for the time being. The boy dropped, coughing out the liquid as he looked up to Alain. It was clear he was terrified and was about to try and run away but stopped as he saw Alain's smile. "...What..." Deirdre spoke up. "Don't worry. We're here to get you out of here." he stared at Deirdre who tried to smile. He looked back at Alain and then the scientists clothes. He scooted away slightly as he retreated under the nearby desk. "How do I know you won't hurt me?!" he exclaimed, with fear in his eyes.
"You won't." Alain blankly replied. "But you'll have to. This place is gonna blow, we need to get you out of here. You'll have to trust us." Alain's face was still friendly, but he was being serious. This place will be destroyed. Any still inside would have to hope they survived the falling rubble. Yet he couldn't leave the boy like that. He was an innocent, probably captured by this organization for weeks, months or even years for all he knew.
The boy stared at them for a while, looking between the group for a moment as he slowly comprehended what was going on. Deirdre slowly got up as the boy reached out and took the clothing. She looked at him and began to have second thoughts about this mission. The mission had said to recover XVI and return it to the researchers who had lost it. She however was never ever told that XVI was a child and suddenly thought that the researchers who wanted XVI were probably going to do the exact same thing the ones here had done to him. Her face hardened as she bit her tongue. The woman turned, not allowing anyone to look at her. "Come on. Let's go. We had our motorcycles parked out in the woods just outside the facility." she began to walk with a slight limp to the door. The boy had dressed and then looked up at Dave, rather frightened.
Dave shrugged his shoulders as he looked back at the boy. "Don't look at me." he replied. "I know just about as much as you do!" he sighed. "They're definately the good guys though. I promise." he quickly followed Deirdre and Alain, not wanting to leave behind either of them.
The boy quickly followed behind Dave, latching onto his shirt with his hand. Deirdre had turned to see her gear stacked in the corner of the lab and quickly equipped herself once again before making her way to the nearest elevator, waiting for the others. As they all soon piled in, she leaned against the wall. She didn't bother to look at them at all but the boy just kept staring at her and she didn't know why. Deirdre tried to ignore the waves of pain. "Ugh... I could use a drink after this." she mumbled.
Alain smiled. "You're not alone." he said.
"I'll just be glad when we get out." Dave commented, then kept silent again.
Alain just smiled at Dave by his comment. "I guess you might be right." he then looked back at Deirdre. "We're leaving Enzo behind?"

Alain just smiled at Dave by his comment. "I guess you might be right." he then looked back at Deirdre. "We're leaving Enzo behind?"
Deirdre fell silent and looked at Alain. The look she gave him was a clear yes. Besides if she had gone back to HQ and told them that Enzo had betrayed them and survived then they would've put him up for an assassination target anyways. The elevator chimed for the first floor and the doors creaked open to reveal the area they stepped into when they had first found the door to the facility. She began to limp her way out. "Let's go..." the boy looked up at Dave rather concerned.
Dave just smiled back at him. "let's just follow them for now. Unless there's anywhere else you can go."
Deirdre stepped out and into the ruins of the building that lay on top of the facility. She began to walk out, on her way to where they left their bikes. As they'd reach the bikes, Deirdre leaned herself against the tree, shivering from another wave of pain. "OK... Here are the bikes. But I don't think I can drive one all the way back." she stared at the bikes for a minute before she turned on her com. "Rapture. Can you send a car? ...Unless Alain has transportation?" she asked wondering how Alain got here.
"I got dropped in from above." Alain said. he didn't give any details. I can drive a bike, but these guys won't." he replied, meaning Dave and the boy they picked up. He then turned to the boy. "What's your name anyway?" he asked. "Do you remember your name?"
The boy looked at the ground seeming to think but couldn't think of his name. "Uh... Uh... They just call me XVI... that or '16'..." he paused as he looked up at Alain hoping that was satisfying enough. Deirdre nodded and then turned on her com again. "OK. Rapture send a car." "Gotcha will arrive A.S.A.P" Rapture said over the com. Deirdre coughed. "Thanks, Rapture." "And don't you die on me, Rutt!" he exclaimed and Deirdre chuckled. "I'm OK. Don't worry." she smiled slightly as she slumped against the tree. There were a couple moments of silence before Deirdre spoke again. " You should all take a seat, rest." she paused before looking over to Alain. "So, Alain...How have you been since that mission?" she smirked slightly as the boy sat down beside Dave.
"I went into space." Dave replied, grinning. "That's where I got all this high-tech stuff from. I recieved it as a reward. the suit works in space as well as planetside, but it's not strong enough by far to breach the atmosphere." he grinned, and put his weapon down at the same time, leaning into another tree. Dave sat down next to another tree, yawning. He was exhaisted by all the unexpected action his curiosity had brought him, and just barely didn't fall asleep.
Deirdre smiled. "Lucky. I haven't been to space for a while. Haven't gotten any off world missions." she paused as she'd thought about several missions she'd had in the past. All the way back to her home on the space station. Her expression showed she had thought about something unpleasant and pushed it back. "...You an alien?" she asked rather bluntly. "I mean, I've never seen a human move that fast. Well, other then my dad but..." she paused as she looked at Alain rather curious. The boy looked rather confused about all the space stuff, like he'd never heard of anything like that.
"I'm human, mostly. My mother was a gervian, and I got lucky to inherit her natural skills for speed. Some racist hoodlums killed her back when I was young." the memories hurt him visibly for a second, but then he grinned. "hoodlums I took care of."
Deirdre frowned put patted Alain on the shoulder. "Well they won't hurt anyone else at least... Heh, I knew a Gervian couple back on Fera 7 station. They were really nice." Deirdre smiled, remembering how happy that couple was. She fell silent as she looked to the boy who had scooted closer to her, curiously. She watched him a moment and smiled. They waited a while and she soon heard a car in the distance. A large car powered its way down and soon skid to a stop at the road. Deirdre picked herself up. "Come on." she said as she helped up the boy and offered to help up Alain. The boy seemed to copy Deirdre and offer to help up Dave.
Alain smiled, and he put his armored hand in hers and got up. Dave, tired as he was, did the same thing with the boy's hand and they both got into the car
Deirdre crawled into the driver's seat, the seat belt automatically locking her in, allowing Alain to climb in the passenger side. The car had no steering wheel. It was all computer automated. "Destination?" The computer's A.I chimed and Deirdre spoke up, with a small cough. "Preset 3." The coordinates popped up on the screen. "Destination: Naysem Headquarters. Approximate time: 24 minutes." The car then began to start speeding down the road and Deirdre sighed, opening the window slightly. The woman was deep in thought now, biting her lip, she stared out the tinted window. Clearly something was bothering her.
Alain looked back. "Hey. you wanna see some fireworks?" he asked her, holding the remote in his hand. A red light saying "Armed" probably told her it was a remote for the charges to blow.
Deirdre perked up as she saw that Alain had the detonator. She blinked and smirked. "Sure." The boy turned suddenly, looking out the back window curiously. Deirdre too turned in her seat, though trying not to strain herself.
Alain pressed the button.
The sound reached them before the fires reached eyesight. At first it a shockwave reached them, then fires broke out all over. Then another giant explosion tore up the roof and the side of the place. "Oh wow. I guess the explosions reached some kind of fuel tank." he grinned awkwardly. "Oh well."
