She smiled. "Can you promise me that you won't speak of this?" she would put out her hand, for a pinky swear. After he'd do that, she would hand him a small device that looked like it'd fit in the port to the headset she had given Dave back at the facility. "Keep the headset, and put that card into it. Contact me anytime you need help." she smiled, patting him on the shoulder.
Dave smiled happily as he accepted the pinky promise and put the card in the device. He'd think this over some more when he was in his own quiet room again. One thing was certain: No more abandoned facilities for him. "I promise I won't tell anyone." he said with a smile and a nod.
"Good. Just get into the passenger seat and tell the car what your address is. It will take you home." She looked over at the boy who had gotten out of the car and was now looking curiously through a tool box that was laying on the counter near a locked gun cabinet. Deirdre sighed. "See ya later, kid." she turned back to Alain's direction and strolled out of the way of the automated car.
Dave waved for a second, kind of sad that he had to leave like that. He looked at Deirdre as she walked away. I'll see them again. I'm sure of it. he smiled to himself and got back into the car. He quickly spoke out the adress, after which the car started moving and left the house.
Deirdre slowly approached the boy who had taken out a wrench. "You find that pretty interesting huh?" she asked him as they boy looked up at her. She had just noticed what the boy truly looked like. He was shorter then her, but had ruffled blonde hair. To her though, the kid's eyes stood out the most. He had heterochromia, his right eye being grey and his left eye being blue. Deirdre figured that either the lab had bred him deliberately or they captured some kid off the street. Looking back to Alain a moment, she blinked rather wondering if she had any clothes that would fit the kid.
When she wasn't looking however, he had put away the wrench and took out a knife meant for opening cardboard boxes, tracing his finger along the blade curiously. Deirdre had turned around and gasped just as sliced his finger open and stared at it. Deirdre quickly crouched down and yanked the knife from his hand and throwing it in the tool box. The boy looked confused as she frowned, staring at him. "Gosh kid, be careful will you. You shouldn't go touching things like.... that...." her eyes fell on the cut. A green liquid bled from the cut, dripping onto the lab coat the kid wore.

Alain quickly ran over to them. "Hey, what's going..." he then saw the green stuff that had obviously replaced the blood inside the boy's body, and looked at Deirdre. "Let's get him inside." he said.
Deirdre gently led the child into the apartment area just as Rapture had finished on the phone. "Whoa, what's the matter?" he asked as Deirdre shook her head. "Something's up with him..." she said picking up the kid and putting him on the kitchen counter. The kid did not struggle but simply looked around in confusion. "Well what is it?" Rapture asked before he saw the green liquid. "Wha--?" The man walked over to the kid and examined him. "... Let me have a look at him." Rapture said as Deirdre went to get the medical kit she kept under her terminals. Rapture had taken out a scanner and started scanning the boy. "Deirdre, he said it was fine, but he is your responsibility. You're orders are to teach him to the point of when he is able to fend for himself. Then HQ takes him..." Deirdre stared at Rapture as she put the kit on the counter. Her eyes were filled with concern now. "What are they going to do with him?" Rapture gave her a look. "He'll be fine... Don't worry. Besides you have him for now." Rapture continued examining the child as Deirdre leaned onto the counter, looking across the room for a moment before Rapture breathed in. "My scans show a heartbeat but... Something is wrong here..." He looked at the kid. "I might have to do surgery..." Deirdre went wide eyed. "Is he OK?" "I won't know until, I do an operation."
