Ember stayed silent after that and followed Skylar to whichever place they were to search. The girl felt an odd sense of commitment towards Skylar. Maybe it was from the fact that she was the first person she saw after her family was left behind in the apocalypse. Maybe it was because she genuinely liked Skylar. She was very brave and honest and rather a pleasant breeze of fresh air from all the other chaos that has built up over time. Either way, Ember decided that she would be there along side this painfully amazing woman for as long as they are both alive.
*matt saw the two girls walk out and dragged foxy the warrior into a nearby bush then followed them to the grocery store and confronted skylar* hey.. you’re with that group there aren’t you? How did you survive the CDC told us everyone was either infected or dead...
Drew was glad that so far, nobody had questioned his actions. The room now being empty, he packed his bag with food and slipped upstairs. He was fortunate enough to not be caught. The man packed his stuff the rest of the way and headed out a back entrance, racing away from the comfortable building. Oh, he felt awful for betraying Skylar, who had put so much trust in him, but he had to get out of here. He didn't like the thought of staying, not when he knew that the disease couldn't be healed forever. It always came back, it hid in the tissues and came back when it was strong again.
Skylar sighed with a small amount of annoyance as someone came up to her. “First of all, hi? Second of all, zombies aren’t that hard to kill, just don’t get yourself into a horde, and third of all, I don’t like paparazzi, so get the hell away from me.” Skylar didn’t mean to be rude, she just wasn’t in a good place st the moment. She had an uneasy feeling in her gut and had the urge to go back and check on everyone, but she knew she couldn’t.
"Skylar" she said while dizzy
Drew headed the opposite way of the town, trekking through the woods, towards the mountains. He held a knife in his hand, keeping a lookout for any hordes. They would become less and less frequent as he got into the colder regions.
Skylar sighed and continued walking. She didn’t know that Rose had called her name. Skylar closed her eyes for a moment, trying to calm down. She didn’t know what was going on with her, but she knew it wasn’t okay to be rude to other survivors. But she meant what she had said.
She whimpers
Skylar finally heard Rose and saw her. “What’s wrong?” She asked.
Drew still trod on, eventually stumbling upon a rather intact and thankfully abandoned building. He walked inside, searching for food and trying to determine if it would be a safe enough place to stay for the night, or for longer.
"Can't get up"
The house was quiet when Rolen awoke from his nap. He looked around, it seemed that everyone was missing. He quickly stood, stumbling slightly. He ran down the hallways, checking each bedroom that wasn't locked. Not a single soul. He ran to the room in which they kept their food, and noticed a great deal of it was missing. Either the group had moved on, or something worse. He returned to the living room, and grabbed his axe. If someone was fooling around, he wasn't going to let that happen.
Foxy started to cry as she struggled to stand up
Curling in Drew's mind, the symbiote speaks softly. "They haven't followed us. That food will last us longer than you think, if we manage it right. Or we could sell some of what we're carrying to buy better food."
It seems to hesitate, before adding, "Or we could eat the dead. They taste fine, a bit chewy."
It seems to hesitate, before adding, "Or we could eat the dead. They taste fine, a bit chewy."
Rolen noticed the girl struggling outside, and dashed out of the house. He quickly picked her up, throwing her over one shoulder. "What made you think you could go outside? You've only got one leg! You're a liability, kid. You're going to get yourself or someone else killed." he rants, before noticing the tears on her face. His voice softens, and he adds, "You look sick. Let's get you inside, and check you out."
Drew had honestly forgotten about the symbiote. "Yeah, I've already tasted the dead. They taste surprisingly good but...it's just wrong. Cannibalism is never right." He murmured. "You think this place is safe?"
*matt noticed the seriousness in skylars voice but he had one last trick up his sleeve* well I guess you don’t want to have access to the nearby presidential bunker... *he wasn’t 100% sure what the code to get in was but he had a pretty good idea* besides your just opening yourself to walkers out here.. if you want me to go just say the word and I’ll take the hint also I’m a... *he paused as he had some flashbacks* former federal agent for N.E.T.R.U. The National Emergancy Tactical Response Unit
The symbiote chuckled, a nasty, gurgling sound. "Is it cannibalism if I am the one eating them?" it asks Drew, before adding, "And anywhere is safe, we can keep watch when the hossst sssleepsss."
"Alright then. Well, it is still cannibalism if it is being stored in my body. After all, I am the one who is controlling this sack of flesh, not you." He reminded the Symbiote icily.
Skylar glares at the man. “What you were doesn’t have any importance now.” She shifted. “I don’t even care if you were the president..” She added. “It’s different now. Former titles don’t prove anything. Now I suggest you get out of my way, or you’ll learn that talking to me wasn’t a very smart move.” She continued glaring are him, her mood worsening. Lately she’s been wanting to punch something.. maybe nows the time..
