It is 1899, Moscow, The Russian Empire. Antonin has invited you to a Christmas party that has not been held since near seven years before at the Stahlbaum townhouse. He is an elusive figure and there is some intrigue-there has been little heard from the family since some seven years before the youngest niece, Marie, disappeared. The family had moved out of the city, leaving Antonin behind.

Some magic elements definitely encouraged but not necessary. It isn't an altogether separate timeline to our own so any magical entities would have to be incognito/living among non-magic humans.

Some magic. Few can use it, but most of the players probably won't have it. Magical characters will likely believe that they are all alone.

Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
