"... maybe ...." the boy said slowly. He was quiet for a while until he was sure they were a good ways away from where the cub had been. "Where are we going?" he asked Pier wondering if the man was heading for his camp or just generally in the direction that the bears were not in.

Pieridae shrugged at the question. "This way." He pointed forwards. Pieridae never went anywhere in particular, he never needed to, but he didn't know what the boy needed. "Do you need anything from town?" He pointed out the boys ragged clothing, "new clothes for instance."

"What's this way?" Victor asked as he followed the fae. "Uh, I guess I could get some. There a town or something this way or do you have something to make them with? I don't have enough to do more than patch up what I have on right now. .... But what I have is serviceable," he said. "You have money I suppose? Shops don't sell stuff to people that don't have money ... usually want you to wear shoes too," he said after a moment's thought, "I guess I could makes some real quick if I need to so that shouldn't be a problem."

"Alot more forest. Town is that way." Pieridae pointed forward and to the left at a 45 degree angle to give a rough estimate of where the town would lie. "I do have money and we can get you some shoes." The fae halted. "So which way do we go? Forward or to the town?" He wanted the boy to make this decision for it was for him.

Victor scrunched up his face in thought for a few moments. "I guess the town. I haven't been in one for a while. .... But I'm not staying long. You can, but I'm not," he said nodding to himself as if something had come loose in his neck and his head couldn't do anything but flop about.

Pieridae nodded. "I will not stay long." He made sure to say stay rather than take. He had a great distaste for people and a general disdain for the towns that contained them. "Neither of us like towns, they are just a necessary evil." He started walking towards the town and turned to Victor. "Just a few miles."

"Do you think they have a library?" the boy asked as he pulled a old pair of hide shoes out from among his things. They were coming apart at the seams and had leather laces through the sole and top to keep them together that looked newer than the shoes themselves. "These should work for a little longer," he said as he looked the shoes over before putting them away again.

Pieridae shrugged, he really didn't know what was at this town, he had never been there before, he just knew where it was. He looked at the shoes, "They're fine. We'll get you new ones." He looked where they needed to go. "And we'll look for a library." He beckoned for him to follow as he started down the path.

"We don't need to find it. It's just that really small towns don't always have their own libraries. Smaller towns are easier to find things in, but the people ask more questions because they all know each other and they know who isn't part of their group," the boy said, "Not that they're always nice to those in their group, but they're worse to those that aren't in it."

"Then we make it quick and avoid attention." He gave a half smile, a rare thing. "That wont be hard," he said sarcastically. "It is just ahead" The fae broke through the tree line and was on the side of a road. Cars were buzzing by quite quickly. Buildings slept on the other side.

Victor looked down each side of the street. He could just barely make out a stop light down at one end. The boy started walking that way hoping that where there was a stop light there's also be a crosswalk. He didn't wait to see if Pier would follow or not as he didn't care that much if the fae did or not.

The fae crossed quickly, he didn't like cars. He got to the other side and waited patiently for Victor. "Well now we're here. Do you want new robes or shoes first?"

Victor had indeed found a crosswalk to cross at. The boy had been about to cross back over to the side they'd come from when Pier spoke. "Robes?" he asked, "What? People don't talk like that. Use normal words."

Pieridae sighed. "Clothing youngling. Do you want clothing or shoes first?" He looked towards the town, he could see a clothing store not too far away. Thankfully they came out in the shopping area, not the housing area. They would have been completely lost on where to go!

"What's wrong with my clothes?" the boy asked puzzled. "These shoes will work for now," he added pulling his hide shoes on. The were a tight fit and he had to loosen the laces along the side before he could stand to walk with them on. "I have money. I can buy what I need on my own. You do whatever you want," Victor said as he started walking off on his own toward one of the stores.

Pieridae shrugged. "I'll meet you in the shoe store there in 2 hours, don't get lost." He pointed to the shop in the distance despite Victor already being ahead of him. He walked with his wings tucked away towards the general goods store. Most took an awkward approach to non-humans so he tended to hide his wings on the rare ocasion he went into town.

The blond teen sat in the back of the shoe store where no one could easily see him or catch him unaware. He wore a pair of khaki pants and a gray sweatshirt with a red transformers logo on the front. An empty shoe box sat beside him with a little picture on the side that matched the new black and red sneakers on his feet. It had been hard for him to find a pair that fit and still came with bits that lit up when he stomped his feet. He had gotten his hair cut very short within the last two hours and was almost unrecognizable from the boy he'd looked like when he'd left Pier to shop on his own. He had a backpack with him which seemed about half full and he'd made sure to put anything he didn't want to be caught with near the bottom should anyone need to look into his pack while he was leaving a store. With his new clothes and his hair cut off he looked closer to 16 then he had before, though only just barely.

The fae-in-disguise entered the shoe store around their set meeting time. He had purchased some first aid supplies, a utility pocket knife, and a sling shot with 10 glass beads to go with it. These he carried in a white plastic bag by his side. He scanned the store then spotted Victor in the back. Pieridae walked back there to him.

When he saw the child he raised a brow, he looked rather different. "You changed quickly." He dug in the bag and pulled out the first aid kit. Putting it aside he tossed him the bag and its content. "A present."

The boy looked up the fae and stomped a foot on the floor making the heels of his new shoes light up. He almost regretted buying the shoes when Pier commented on how quickly he'd changed his appearance. "It's easier to blend in when you look like everyone else," he said ignoring the fact that not that many boys his age wore light up shoes. Victor eyed the first aid kit suspiciously. "What's in it?" he asked playing dumb just in case the fae turned out to not really as nice as he seemed to be.

The Fae opened it. The container held moleskin, gause, bandages, tweezers, scissors, and an empty spot where he had taken the medicine out. "Go ahead, take the present, you should like it." Pieridae wasn't actually completely sure but he though it would be useful for the boy and he could learn the sling shot fairly quickly. It would certainately make hunting easier for him.
