So I was talking to another player on here who was experiencing relationship troubles. And we haven't known each other much as I was trying to be there for this player. But I'm technically not supposed to be on here so yesterday I was most off and doing college work because I have a lot to do. I came back for a bit to just respond to a few and found out that the player ended the relationship, I told them that i was sorry to hear.

Then I had to get off again and continue school work. I come back this morning because everyone is asleep and I see that the player said, "You weren't there when I needed you" and I see that there iss a slash in the name.

Am I a bad person because I wasn't able to be there for this person?

You have no reason to feel like you are a horrible person, and I say shame on that person for shifting the blame onto you.

You had your own troubles, struggles, and life to deal with, and as you said, you barely knew this person. To you, they're just someone online behind a screen. To them, you were probably the same. People need to understand that not everyone can revolve around them and be with them twenty four hours a day.

Thank you that makes me feel a bit better. I've always been sensitive to other people's feelings even if I haven't known them long. It's something I would like to over come but I just never could.

No worries. I have the same issue, and it's a very difficult thing to get over. If you ever need someone to talk to, (who won't shift any blame onto you), then feel free to shoot me a PM :)

Um, no, you are actually a good person for caring and talking to them and checking up on them. You can't be responsible for someone else's life and their decisions they make. It is sad that they said that and bailed out, but it isn't wrong to keep your own life together. Hang in there Gal. You are obviously an empathetic person, and the world can always use more people like you. :)

I can understand that. It would be worrisome. I'm sure a 24/7 crisis counselor would be busy full time on here. Having been involved with Beyond Blue, I understand the wish to help every single person. Unfortunately it really isn't possible, and one of the things they hit home to the counselors is you can't take the grief on to yourself, or you will in the end become a casualty. Anyway, you are not a horrible person, but a beautiful one. :)

I don't think there is, but we regular RP grunts seem to stand in for them a lot. And thank you. I can be a cold hearted cynic at times.

I think everyone is at some point in life

Or in my case more than one point in life. ;)
You are a beautiful person. Don't doubt that.
Hoping you're feeling better about yourself.

I just want to pop in and say that you don't owe anyone your time. If they try to hold you responsible for their self-harm or their decisions so they can demand your time, then they're being emotionally abusive and manipulative, which is never okay.

You did your best to be there for someone without causing yourself harm in some form. You did a good thing, and you were responsible for your own day to day life. Ultimately they're responsible for theirs and their actions, and if you didn't say or do anything to cause them harm, then there's nothing you should have done differently.

Thank you... 100% agree. You say it so much better than I could.

i think that youre just a normal person. you have your own responsibilities and obligations. im sure youd have loved to be there for them. But, in your life, you come first. so, if they wanna play the guilt card, pardon my french, **** em. their loss.

No. Real life is more important than online life. You have your own life to live. You're a beautiful person. So they quit. You'll find there are some really caring and wonderful freinds on this website.
