These are not the words you would use to describe a pacifist 'hero' looking out for the homeless in her community, and the lives of those inhabiting other realities to boot. But Jinx is only a metaphor, and there's more than meets the eye about this spunky redheaded hero.
As you may or may not have guessed, this will be a post searching for suitable roleplays with an optimistic hero with way too many problems. However i'd like to avoid Jinx being the sole center of attention, and as always i am open to discussion of your own character's needs and how to work those in!

Themes Though this character is friendly for all ages, she's no stranger to more adult themes. Sexual themes and horror aren't banned, though they're only there if you want them. This character comes with disturbing topics such as suicide, depression, genocide, slavery and abuse, and if you aren't comfortable with those things you can still roleplay with this character, but in this case don't expect her backstory. Roleplays with this character typically include fantasy, modern and adventure, and the true meaning of Good vs Evil is often explored and challenged.
What I'm Looking For I'm looking for 1x1 roleplays, however i will likely accept multiple roleplays from different people, so don't get discouraged if someone already replied here! I don't do well in group roleplays, so 1x1 is preferable.
I'd prefer roleplayers who write a few paragraphs per reply, however as the scene demands it i truly am flexible with less or more. I'm not looking for concise roleplayers however, the longer your replies are the better. I'd also appreciate a partner with decent vocabulary, grammar and spelling. I won't murder you over a few small mistakes but a competent partner is valued. There's seldom much structure in how i roleplay and as such you are free to roleplay freeform. If you'd prefer to use dice for aggressive confrontations however then that's fine with me, but i won't put strict rules and mechanics on what characters can or can not do. Just don't abuse this with an overpowered character.
And that would lead into my requirement that your character not be able to solve every problem with a snap of the fingers. A well developed character will have numerous drawbacks to their abilities or skills, and i want it to be a challenge for either of our characters to accomplish their goals.
This roleplay will likely take place in private messaging, as i'm not a big fan of holding public roleplays.
Jinx already has a complicated network of relationships and as such, i'm really not looking for romance. If your character spontaneously develops a crush over the course of the roleplay (or Jinx does the same) that is perfectly admittable, but i will not set out a roleplay with future romance in mind, and absolutely no shenanigans involving Jinx. However if your character has some more adult themes than your average OC this can be discussed, especially regarding The Villain plot.

Jinx's pride and joy is The School, a formerly abandoned elementary school located in the derelict district of Detroit Michigan. From a young age this has been her center of activity in which she works to rebuild and provide shelter to the homeless or otherwise troubled individuals of this city.
It is here that Jinx has rallied a loyal following of close friends and built a solid, nearly self-sustaining community, all of which is precariously under the nose of the law. Local gangs have become so fond of the beacon of hope amid the desolation that the area has become neutral territory, and crimes committed here are punished not by law enforcement but by vigilante violence. Jinx, as the founder is the "Principal" of the school, though the title holds little of the same weight.
From here, your character could be another wayward soul searching for shelter, or help. The School is open to anybody who needs the help, whether that be medically, or regarding food and shelter. Alternatively, Jinx is always looking for individuals who can help her improve her School. She has connections to a Black Market Mob Boss who provides running water and electricity in exchange for a price that Jinx herself refuses to disclose, and her brother Rigel commissions the help of farmers who aid The School in their goal of self sufficiency, and in the meantime help out with food and supplies. Sometimes being a morally good person and lawfully neutral makes enemies, and in Jinx's quest to make hers and other's worlds a better place, she often meets with resistance from the corrupt institutions who would prefer to keep the populace crushed beneath an iron boot. Or sometimes it's not even her crimes that get her in trouble, but merely what she is. If you've already skimmed her profile you may know what i'm talking about. If not, allow me to enlighten you. Jinx, through a series of conveniently timed circumstances came to aquire the ability to teleport. In what way this ability helps her to change the world may seem obscure, but Jinx uses it to her full advantage and often enough, disadvantage. It's a staple part of who she is and why she's motivated for good, and is often a catalyst for getting herself into a mess of trouble.
Jinx often catches the attention of organizations who seek to contain, study, eliminate or profit off the abnormal or anomalous. It's not uncommon for her to find herself at odds with any such organizations and as a result, on the run from them. With this plot idea, your character could be any number of roles. Such things are never black and white however, and villains often tend to blur the lines between what is truly moral. Whether it's a world devastating plague, a lich king bent on world domination, alien abductions, or even something as horribly real and non-fictional as fighting slavery rings. Jinx is there to challenge the 'Villain's" perspective and put a stop to their plans, with any means necessary.
Of course, Heroes don't fight alone, and neither do the heroes always win.
In this plot idea, your character could be a fellow morally upstanding citizen with their own abilities which they use for the purposes of good. Or more interestingly, they could be the antagonist of the story, even a self proclaimed hero with villainous methods. They could even be a retired villainous character with no real plans, but chance fates them to meet Jinx.
Of course, Heroes don't fight alone, and neither do the heroes always win.
In this plot idea, your character could be a fellow morally upstanding citizen with their own abilities which they use for the purposes of good. Or more interestingly, they could be the antagonist of the story, even a self proclaimed hero with villainous methods. This plot idea is the one in which you are the one that creates the world, the setting, and the plot. Jinx has within her the ability to teleport, and saving her own world isn't enough. She has the very restrictive ability to teleport (often against her will) to other realities entirely. They may be completely alien worlds or simply another version of earth with more magic, more technology, or changes in history. She has teleported in this manner to worlds where she's failed to save them, worlds corrupted with technology, worlds entrenched deep in fantasy, and realities flung far back in the past or flashed forward into the future.
Jinx often sees herself as a tourist when this happens, immediately eager to explore and learn more about the strange realities she's flung into. In addition, Jinx does not see these alternate realities as wholly seperate from her own and free from consequence, and treats these realities as if they were her own, even risking life and limb to help the people of these alternate worlds, and treating the safety of the world as seriously as she would her own.
In this plot idea, you have the freedom to choose the setting. Jinx is a flexible character and though she won't be accustomed to these alternate realities, she finds a way to fit in nearly seamlessly.
If Jinx sounds like a character you would enjoy roleplaying with, but your OC is a talking squirrel from a mystical land or a hardened soldier from a warring future Jinx can still be explainably integrated into their world and sow some chaos regardless. Alternatively, Jinx can (often unintentionally) bring individuals from their own realities back to her own. If your knight from the past or alien of the future would like (or hate) to experience the modern earth world, Jinx is their ticket to do so. Shenanigans will ensue.

Some magic. Few can use it, but most of the players probably won't have it. Magical characters will likely believe that they are all alone.
Modern
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.

Hey, this looks pretty interesting! I'm especially interested in the alternate reality one. I have a whole world with lore and junk that my character is from, though it could take some time to explain in great detail. I normally do 1 paragraph, though I could probably do 2, or maybe even 3 if I really try, but I'm not making any promises on that. Just expect 1-2. I'll be using this character, as in the one I'm replying with. His profile isn't too in depth, but mainly because I don't have time to make it better. I reply, say, 2-3 times a week, but then again it all depends on what's going on in my life, and yours, and how often you reply. Anyway, feel free to message me.
