Important - RP Guidelines - Please Read!
This is an open RP of a simple modern high school life RP. No magic, some fights, some romance. No need to ask to join, just write a post in character as a student, teacher, parent, whatever. You can write as many characters as you want. All I ask is you respect the parameters of the RP and write at least a paragraph. If you are going to carry on an exchange between two characters, take it to PM so we don't roll pages and pages of just two people chatting.
All the info from the LFRP and OOC threads
The Summary and my Character's Prologue:
Jessica hated it, but it was the choice she made. She had been well established in her old school district where she had lived with her parents, then only with her mom from the 6th grade. The fight she got I with her mom about her mom’s new boyfriend coming to live at the house was massive, and Jess couldn’t continue to live there with that creep.
She thought about living with friends and trying to finish her senior year, but she didn’t have a job and didn’t have enough savings to make it all the way. It was when she reached out to her father. He invited her to come live with him in northern California, and Jessica loaded up her hiking backpack and set out with fifty pounds of her stuff on her back. She purchased a train ticket to San Francisco and set out on her journey
She arrived at her dad’s just in time to get enrolled in the high school a couple miles from her dad’s house. It was now orientation day and she got ready to go and register for her classes and get her ID card and all. She was nervous and a little bit scared, for she didn’t know a soul at the school. She would be an outsider, a total stranger, while most all the rest of the kids had gone to school together for years….

The Mechanics:
This RP will be a simple human-only modern high school life RP that will be written out in the General forum and adhere to the forum PG-13 rating. Like school, this RP Request threadwill be in an "Open Enrollment" mode for a period of time. Anyone can join the upcoming RP by posting an expression of interest. You can also post a student character bio in this thread as well. If writers want to write other NP or minor characters and/or faculty member, that is cool. I will likely write a few myself. Once expressions of interest and character bios are up I will start the IC RP thread in the general RP forum.
The usual RP courtesy protocols are in place in reference to forum rating, god-modding, fighting, etc. Should any romances ignite and appear to be heading toward the public forum subjective PG-13 fence, it can continue between the characters via PM.
Post length range is between two well-written sentences to as long as you want.

This would be Olekat’s third year in Oakwood High, and yet her social life was nearly nonexistent. What made things worse was over the summer her closest friend had...moved.
Her heels clicked across the concrete as she walked. Olekat was dressed in pastels—a simple white blouse, a pale pink cocktail-length wrap skirt, and baby blue wedge heels that elevated her height by one inch. A purse was slung over one shoulder.
School always seemed to bring her misery or humiliation but her partners were unwilling to hire a private tutor. Olekat privately still held out hope for dropping out, but she knew her parents would never approve and she could not face that...under her current circumstances.
Olekat took in a deep breath, put on a brave face, and stepped into the school grounds.

For Ryku...Well...He has only been here for around half the school year last year so he hasn't made any friends...and is still trying to remember everyones name.. And tomorrow...Is the first day of school so...He hopes to make friends before he goes to collage unless his friends go to his collage. But back to Ryku...Ryku usually wears pretty dark clothing and he is very shy, He has a scar across his left eye because...well...most likely he will tell you more about his background at High School*
Angelo woke up to the sun filtering in through his dark room. He groaned and slowly sat up, his head pounded, and he felt like he wanted to vomit. He had went out partying last night and hadn't gotten home until 2 am. His eyes shown just how tired he really was as well.
The teen rolled out of bed and stretched out his arms as he slowly stood up, his warm feet hitting the cold hard wood floor, causing him to shiver. He sighed as he quickly went to the bathroom and turned on the steaming hot shower. He stripped and stepped in, washing his hair and body quickly before rinsing off and turning thr water off and grabbing his towel. He dried off quickly, dressed, brushed his teeth and his hair before grabbing his keys and wallet and heading out to his car.
He arrived not too much later at Oakwood high. He was now a senior, only one more year left until he was done. Then he had to figure out weather it was collage or the army after. He parked his subaru WRX before getting out and heading inside for orientation.

Emerald was already at the school. She was in the bathroom doing her makeup. She stared at her reflection in the mirror and sighed. She was only a junior, and this whole school thing was killing her. Or at least it felt like it.
She for sure was not ready for this year to start. She hated being bullied by all the other richer, or prettier girls. She quickly did her mascara before rolling some lipstick on and moving the black hair from her blue eyes. "You've got this girl...." She mumbled to her reflection.

(Steve age 18 - Senior at Oakwood High)
Steve woke up late and didn't really put much effort in his appearance. He showered and threw on a plain white t-shirt with his worn blue jeans and his sketchers. He grabbed a worn red flannel shirt and put it on, leaving it open. He needed something to ward off the early Autumn chill that had settled in overnight. He came out to the kitchen and grabebd a muffin and devoured it over the sink so he didn't have to clean up.
"You get to registration and get those classes you need." his mom said coming into the kitchen. "And comb your hair!" She patted the cowlick he had down but it kept popping up. "Aw ma, it's just registration. I do get to show some freshmen around as orientation, but it's all good. I'm gone, see you later ma." he said as he grabbed the keys to his car. Steve had an immaculatly restored vintage 1970 GTO he worked on with his dad and uncle. He loved old cars. He was rather bright with Mechanics. It was probably why he got A's in shop class the last couple years.
He set off toward the school, taking his time. He was about a mile away when he saw a girl walking along the road. He slowed as he approached. She was in rocker attire and enjoyed watching her jeans pockets move while she walked. There was nobody behind him so he came to a near stop and rolled his window down. "You heading to Oakwood? Need a ride?" he asked, not recognizing the girl when she looked over to him.

Jessica could hear the rumble of the car coming from behind her. She expected it to fly on by. But when she heard it downshift, she tensed. 'Be aware Jesse' she told herself in her head. When it rumbled up in an idle she didn't look, but when she heard his voice, she glared at him. He looked harmless enough, but she wasn't going to get into a car with a stranger.
"No thanks, I'm fine walking. Nice car by the way." she said as she turned to watche where she was stepping. The sidewalk was fair, but it had raised where some big trees had grown and she didn't want to trip.

Soft red locks shine in the sunshine as Olivia sits behind the wheel of her Chevy Malibu, the red paint on its exterior a perfect match for the young woman's hair. This was it, her senior year. The year before was supposed to be her last year but thanks to circumstances in third grade she was destined to graduate with those a year her junior.
It was great to have school start up again, great to see the friends that had gone on vacation and great to see her favorite teachers again. But seeing Garret, her ex-boyfriend wouldn't be. He had broken her heart and it still hadn't healed. But he wasn't important, she'd have to be strong and ignore him, move on with her life. She needed to focus on her studies anyway.
The drive to the school was finally over as she pulls into the parking lot and chooses a spot near the back, parking the car and shutting it off before stepping out, her white converse shoes paired with dark wash jeans, a white t-shirt, and a jean kacket. Pocketing her keys she begins towards the school, her long hair flowing behind her. She was early, almost always was.

Olekat cracked open the bathroom door. Her gaze fell on the onto the other occupant, a pretty girl with long dark hair, a little shorter than her.
Olekat hesitated for a moment—would it be weird if she left? Had the other girl already noticed her?—before stepping inside the bathroom and taking a place in front of the sink to the right of Emerald, facing the mirror. She opened her purse and produced a tube of rose-pink lipstick from. She ran it along her inner lip with a steady, practiced hand. It was a stupid little ritual—she liked putting on her makeup when she was already at school, if possible.
Ryku was walking up to school so he could get his Id....And also so he could sign up for his classes...After awhile when he got to school he noticed there was already cars here and people already signing up so he hurried to the line and waited until it was his turn*
Emerald looked at olekat as she stepped up to the sink next to the one Emerald was at. She smiled kindly before glancing back at her image and applying just a tiny bit of blush. "Hello.." She said softly as she looked back over at her. "How are you?" She asked kindly before turning on the water and washing her hands.

“I’m good,” Olekat said briefly. She vaguely recognized Emerald, from that they were both something of social outcasts, although Kat’s isolation was something of her own design, and Emerald’s seemed to be forced upon her. She replaced the lipstick and brought out a mascara brush. “And you?” It would be nice to carry on a conversation with another human being that wasn’t a member of her family.
“Ok, see you at school then.” Steve said to her as he let the clutch out and revved the V8. A car was coming up behind him so he had to get going. When he arrived at the school parking lot, he backed in next to a red Chevy and got out. There was time enough to loiter before going to get his class list and ID photos. He looked around to see if any of his friends were around.
Jeff and Dave were smoking a joint by the pine tree and he gave them a wave. He was looking for Scarlett, wondering if she would be in school this year. He picked up a dropped oen and put it in chest pocket of his flannel shirt and started walking over to where registration was taking place.
Steve knew he had to take a language class and a government class. He also had to pass them both to graduate. He ended up getting those classes for first and second. The rest were P.E., Mechanics, and Living Arts. If he could get through the first two periods each day, he had an easy schedule. He then went and got in line for the student ID photos.

When it is Ryku's turn to get his Id and schedule...He look at the large croud of people having there schedule and decided not to ask if they had the same schedules so he just quickly looked at all the people and what they looked like* "Man...There is a lot of people that go to this school, there is some faces I dont recognize from last year so maybe they are knew..?" *He then thinks about if he will actually grow a friendship with any of them or if he will be alone like every other school he has been too*
It didn't take long for Olivia to register, only three classes that she rely needed in order to be eligible for graduation. Though she had missed a large chunk of class time those years ago in elementary school, she had caught up well, buckling down hard on her schoolwork. Sure that didn't leave much room for friendships but she made it work, making sure to set time aside for those people. Now that she had fewer classes and more free time so hopefully that meant more time to hang out with those she considered close.
Class registration went smoothly, as did her pictures, making sure that they had gotten a good one before giving the photographer a smile and moving off, pulling her phone out of her back pocket. Erica, her best friend, had texted and wanted to meet her before school and she was slowly walking while typing out her reply. But halfway through she knocks arms with someone, her phone tumbling as she fumbles for it before it makes it's landing face down with a smack on the floor.
She cringes, a bit afraid that it had cracked as she squats down to retrieve it, fingers curling cautiously around it and lifting to find the screen unscathed. Thank god. "I'm really sorry about that..." she says sheepishly, looking upward to meet the face of the person she had bumped into.

Jessica made it to the school somewhat later than most. She didn't realize the last half mile was up a gradual hill and her calves started to ache by the time she got to the school. Thinking at first she should have worn a hoodie or jacket out into the cool morning, she was glad she didn't by the time she arrived at the school as she was on the verge of breaking a sweat. She should have not been so paranoid and accepted that ride from the blonde guy.
Walking up to the registration desk, she signed in and then sorted through the classes she was taking. She filled out the form for the school to get the transcripts from her old school district, and she had five classes assigned. She had hoped to have a lesser schedule, but they had to wait until they got her acreditation from Samual Adams High.
"Language Arts and Government right away. Dammit." she said as she walked away looking at her schedule. Her New England accent turned a couple heads that were nearby, and Jessica became a little self-conscience. Gawd she hated this. Had she just stayed, she would be meeting up with her friends and talking and laughing. Here, she knew nobody. She finally got in line to get her picture taken.
When it was her turn, she ran her hands over her hair and threw it back and adjusted her t-shirt to have it further off her shoulder. They wanted her to smile as she looked at the camera in her resting bitch-face. When she finally smirked a little they got a picture. With that ritual done, she went off to the side and sat down on a bench and got her phone out. She didn't feel like walking back home right now, but she didn't know what else to do. She posted a couple comments on a friend's facebook and then sat and watched people, trying to guess their social stature at this school. She then turned to someone who started addressing the students.
"Anyone who hasn't been to Oakwood before, we have a walking tour to get you familiar with the building. If you want to gather over here in five minutes, we'll then take a little walk."
That woud be her. Jessica stood up and walked over...

Steve kept pulling faces when they tried to take his photo. He finally laughed, and they got a rather jovial picture of him. He was sorted for the day, so he went and talked to Dave and Jason who were scheming.
"What are you guys up to?" he asked, knowing they had their mischief faces on. "Aw, we're just chillin' and checking out the girls." Steve looked around and said, "I saw a girl walking Cedar Grove road on my way in. Didn't recognize her when I offered her a ride." he looked around in hopes of seeing her. He didn’t see the girl he saw on the road, but he did see Olivia walking and on her phone. She looked good. Steve fancied her a year ago, but there was no getting her away from Garrett. He didn't really give much of a try as they didn't really know each other and they only had one class together their junior year. But Olivia always did catch his eye. If she didn't notice because her eyes were only on Garrett, her friend Erica did, and Steve ended up usually flirting with her. Steve wondered where Garrett was anyway. He heard at a summy party at the river that Garett and Olivia had broken up. Being she was here at orientation day alone told him the rumor was true.
He turned to Dave and Jason and said, "Hey guys, I'm doing the new student walk-through in a bit so I got to go. See ya later." Dave asked, "Why did you volunteer to do that?" Steve raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Because stupid, I get to meet all the freshman girls and any new students that feel the need to attend." He gave them a wink and they fist-bumped as Steve walked off. Dave watched him go and said, "He just wants to follow Olivia."
Steve just happened to walk the same way Olivia was walking. He was about ten steps behind her and the view was all right. He was watching the pockets of her jeans shift with her step when she ran into a guy dropping her phone. Steve trotted up as the guy was apologizing profusely and talking a lot. He looked to Olivia and offered her a hand to stand back up. He looked at the other kid and asked, “You guys all right here? Your phone ok?” It was then the announcement went up about the walk through. He had five minutes before he had to be over there to escort the freshmen and new students through the school building.

*When Ryku hears the announcement about the tour then he starts to run over to the line since he doesn't really know his way around the school well enough to know where his classes are right away so he decided that a tour would help* "Oh and im fine...." *He reply's back to they guy who asked if im ok* *After he gets to the line he notices alot of faces he didn't see last year so he didn't know anyone here* "If this tour is long....ima leave now..." *He says because he feels very uncomfortable with new faces and people*
*After he waited for about A minute or so he quickly pulls out his notebook and starts to draw in it, which he didn't like drawing, and he wasn't good at it but he was bored so that's what he decided to do* *He wasn't much of a phone freak like some people but sometimes he will check is phone for time or whatever but he doesn't have much to do on it since he has no friends to text, no family to talk to, and no games* *After awhile there is about 30 people in the line and I believe we have three minutes until we leave so he puts his notebook up and gets ready to go, but he puts his hood on so nobody will recognize him from last year.....when that day the message spilled out that this boy in this school had killed someone.....*

Steve gave the guy a nod as he started to rush off. "Glad you're all right." he said. He could see he was heading to the new student gathering area. He thought he saw walking girl heading to the gathering too. He turned back to Olivia and he smiled. "I uh.... heard you and Garrett weren't going together anymore?" He was genuinely curious as he watched her reaction.
Liv didn't recognize the guy that she had bumped into. He must be new. Her smile is friendly as she uses the palm of her hand to wipe the screen, swiping away any dirt that may have stuck to it in the fall. "I'm Olivia," Before she had the chance to say more when she's interrupted by a somewhat familiar face. Stan. Or was his name Steve? Steve, it was definitely Steve. The smile that had once been directed at Ryku now turned to the blond that had appeared at her side. "We're fine, everything's fine, like Ryker says," Oh no, that wasn't his name. Why did she have to be so bad with names?
Now that the two were alone, or as lone as they could get, Olivia had grown slightly nervous. She knew of the rumors, the true ones at that, that had been circling around about her and Garret and she just knew someone would bring it up. Of course it had to be Steve, the first person she would appearantly have an actual conversation with. And it didn't help that she found him to be rather attractive either, a detail she never noticed before which brought the slightest tinge of pink to her face.
"Yeah, we're done with," green eyes flit down to the floor at her feet, suddenly now interested in her shoes. Teeth tug at her bottom lip for a moment as she stares down before looking up, releasing it. Pushing past the hurt the smile takes her face once again, this time softer with her teeth hidden behind her lips. "I think I needed it though. He was-," The words are interrupted when she hears Erica calling her name and she turns to look back, grinning at the sight of her friends unruly black hair as she walks through the door. Turning back to Steve she takes a step back, a stray lock of red hair falling over her shoulder which is quickly flicked over to her back. "Sorry, I'm being paged," her smile turns apologetic and she raises her hand for a brief wave before turning and striding over to where her best friend stood.
"Already flirting with Stevie over there I see," Erica teases, her eyes moving to land on Steve momentarily before back to Olivia, crossing her arms and leaning back against the wall. "I thought you said you weren't looking for a guy?" Olivia laughs softly and rolls her eyes, stuffing both hands in her jeans pockets. "We weren't flirting and I'm not. Just having a nice conversation," her eyes move to land on him again before quickly pulling away once more, hoping he didn't see her looking. But why was she afraid he had? Now it's Erica's turn to roll her eyes, finding it hard to believe her. That wasn't flirting, was it? That was another thing she was bad at, deciphering flirting from just friendly conversation. Not that it mattered. With a sigh she turns her head to look out over the growing crowd, attempting to pick out familiar faces as well as new ones.
