So! Plot of the story! The zombie apocalypse has happened. Many of the humans have died or become zombies. Jak is special. He somehow wasn't like them. He didn't want to hurt them. He tried to find another human, but it never happened, and it may never will. He walks among the zombies, like them and not them at all.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.

More combat than not. The setting may be at war, and the characters will likely get involved whether or not they seek it out.
