I just want a list of nice things someone saw someone do for someone else, to make me feel less cynical. It's just one of those days. Thank you.
Well... Just a couple of days ago, I had been at a hair salon and this really old lady walked in-I can't be sure, but I think she is around 50-60 years old let's call her Mrs A.
There is this young man, Mr Y who I've been chatting to in order to pass time (the hair treatment takes about nearly 2hours in total) sitting next to me.
Anyways, this Mrs A just sat down at a chair and nothing happened for a while, but when I was getting my hair washed, she suddenly collapsed onto the floor, still coherent, but very obviously in pain. (well, no collapse, but I imagine that if she wasn't by the wall she *would have*)
A worker tried to help, but it is obvious that they don't know what to do-or don't know if they should do my thing for that matter of fact.. Mrs A said that her legs were cramping badly due to a medication she is taking apparently.
Not a second later Mr Y was kneeling down in front of her (they moved her onto a chair) and trying to help her-he had to take off her shoes and push her feet back-that thing you do to relieve cramps.
Its kinda amazing that Mr Y was willing to go *that* far for an old lady he doesn't know, imo.
(more coming)

Awww. That's nice, Birdy. Thanks. You're right, that was selfless of him.
Nothing particularly major, but I watched an old gentleman pull a ceramic bowl from his fanny pack & fill it with water for his equally old dog to drink from. It both tickled and warmed my heart.
The study I was using on campus was freezing cold and another student went around handing out toonies (for non-Canadians: coins worth two dollars) so people could go get coffee.
Decided to buy one of those holiday chocolate oranges to share with my daughter, since she's never tried them, and when I confirmed the buy-one-get-one sale with the gal at the register she mentioned "I've been meaning to buy one of these myself. They were a tradition between my mother and I." Just before I left, I took the second one from my bag and left it on the counter saying "Merry Christmas". She became adorably flustered when she tried to give it back and I insisted she should enjoy it for her mum. After that I stopped to get a coffee only to be told that whoever drove through before me had paid it forward and told the barista to pass along a "Merry Christmas"
I’m back!
One day, I was going out with a friend and her mother is driving us. But then her mother saw an old lady walking by the roadside- it is summer all year round over here, so it is pretty dang hot- and decided to stop and invite the old lady to get on the car so that she can bring the old lady home.
Another time, I was at a restaurant-or rather a hawker center really. There were a lot of crows there, there are on the ground, on people’s cars, on rooftops...as well as a lot, a lot of stray cats. I first saw the girl because I was near her when her mother scolded her for feeding the strays, but the moment her mother turned around to order food, the little girl continued to tear of little pieces of her bun and throw it towards the strays. It is pretty cute, I think.
One of my friends is an animal person, and not unlike the little girl I talked about in the paragraph above, she would always feed the strays if she has food on her. And one time, she saw this stray cat by the shoplots and I kid you not-she stalked the cat all the way until the cat decided to stop on top of a rubbish bin, and sent me off to get some food for the cat while she sat by it- she just can’t leave an obviously starving cat alone, ever. (The cat was literally skin and bones, the face was really round but I can see that it hasn’t eaten in a long while.)

Awww that cat. And Awww yes this proves people can be really nice sometimes. People offered my mom and I rides sometimes when we were walking someone when I was a kid and we didn't have a car. I should remember that stuff. People can be nice sometimes. Thanks, Birdy... these are great.

More than two decades ago, when I was really little, I had wandered off from our backyard (we lived, still live, in the suburbs). My mom was frantically looking around for me, not knowing I had taken off on a little adventure down the bike path that goes behind our house. A random guy, a stranger really, picked me up several blocks away and gave me a piggy-back ride all the way back to my house to hand me back off to my mom, being really friendly and good-natured about it too!
