"Oh." Luna said quietly scanning the sky's stars.
Luna thought for a moment then pointed to a random place in the sky. "Picies." she said, tracing the outline with her finger.
"Yup." She pushed herself up and gazed at the fire once again.
Markal kept his eyes on the stars and eventually fell asleep, though he couldn't have said just when he did. The stars seemed to twirl themselves around his dreams.
Luna looked over to see that Markal had fallen asleep. She sighed and layed down as well, her body relaxing as she slept.
Markal peeked open his eyes as the sun came up. He yawned and sat up, looking over at Luna. It seemed she was still asleep so he went over and put another log on the fire as quietly as he could and looked up. He started climbing back up the trees and soon came down with his pack full of juicy red apples.
Luna shifted as she started to wake up. Her eyes opened and the sun filled her eyes with bright rays. She blinked them a few times to get adjusted to the light. When her sight came back to her, she pushes herself into a sitting postition and cranked her head to the alpple tree. She was surprised to see Markal climbing down from its branches. She blinked a couple more times to make sure it was him. "What were you doing up there?" She asked rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand.
Markal grinned and brought an apple out of the pack. "Getting breakfast." He tossed the apple at Luna and got out another one and bit into it.
Luna caught the apple with one hand. She looked at it for a moment before biting into it, tasting the familiar flavor that had filled her mouth yesterday. "Thanks." She mumbled in between bites.
He grinned. "No problem." He quickly finished one apple and went for another.
Luna finished her apple slowly, then placed it on the ground. Her eyes shifted to the sky, watching the clouds float by slowly.
Luna smiled and pointed her finger to another cloud. "There's a fox."
"Hmm..." Markal searched the skies for another figure. "There's a dragon."
"I think were too interested in the sky." Luns said recalling how they had pointed out constellations the night before.
Markal laughed. "Maybe. It'd been fun to fly though, don't ya think? Makes me wish I had wings instead of paws." He grinned at her and put out the fire. It was warming up now and they didn't really need it any more.
Luna thought about t for a moment. "Yeah, it would be a nice change." She closed her eyes, trying to imagin what it would be like to fly in the clouds.
"The bug problem would be pretty bad though." He laughed, thinking of how many bugs were splattered across cars' windshields. "I'd have to get a pair of goggles."
