I've been feeling super nostalgic for His Dark Materials lately--especially since finding out a TV series is in the works. But if you're not familiar with the books or movie (Golden Compass), a daemon is an "external physical manifestation of a person's 'inner-self' that takes the form of an animal".

For my own characters, I tend to picture Cori with a lioness--granted daemons are usually the opposite sex of their human. And for Klaus, I picture his daemon being a hummingbird for some reason?? I'm not actually sure if it fits him, haha, but I like the mental image.

Anyway, if it's not obvious yet, lol, I was wondering what daemon you would associate with your characters. I'm also open to take a guess if you want!! Just request it.

I associate this character much with a dog. It's strange, but a dog I used to own could be calm and playful one minute, and the next if you got anywhere close to him, he would bite you and try to attack you. It's much like her.

I haven't heard of this before, but boy can I appreciate the opportunities for symbolism and metaphor in it. Imagine a high-ranked influential family, a pair of parents with powerful daemons, like a mother with a lion and father with a bear... having an heir whose "lesser" daemon is something like a rat or snake, and all the implications or conflicts that could come with it. A lot of prompt potential!

I like that! Different animals can have different personalities and learn different behaviors that aren't typical of their species, so it's definitely worth considering in relation to your character. What kinda dog?
