Sitting out in the ruins of the forestry and abandoned buildings, light reflected without abandon all over. Blue, green, yellow, red, orange, purple. They looked up at the broken painted window in the old, church like building, leaning back on their hands with legs stretched out. This place still felt holy despite the disrepair of time and decay.
They did not look like they fit in here. Around them were broken statues, with little pockets in the sculptures as if gems had once been there but been stolen. Stairs spiraled up to the top with different rooms lining the walls between the decor. One couldn't be sure if they were meant to be worshipped, or if they were purely for decoration and setting a mood. Painted walls were chipped, but it was clear, it used to be beautifully adorned.
They stood up and dusted off their clothes from some dirt and dust that had settled on them from the air. Their greyish tank top seemed counter-productive for the air that had been colder as of late, but they didn't notice. Their jeans had a few holes in the knees and a few tears elsewhere. And the tattoo that wrapped around their shoulders and seemingly under the tears in the jeans seemed irreverant to what was around them.
They shifted form into a relatively small dragon with scales that seemed to shine in the refracted light, and flew into the air and up a few floors to the roof.

"Rooox"a person audibly says nearby the ruins, he was walking in the shade of a black umbrella, and he had a green slime walking next to him"This is clearly not the mountains and also not the valleys...which is where I told you to take us...where are we this time"
They had curled up in one of the rooms that had a window in it with a view when they heard the voice. Their head instantly popped up, and they tensed for a moment before puffing a deep breath of steam. Carefully and cautiously, they stepped out into the walkway and kept their head down even as they smelled the cool nearing-winter air.
They went down a few floors without incident to reveal that they were there, trying to figure out who had found their ruins. It wasn't entirely successful, though, because their tail accidentally hit one of the statues and it collapsed, causing them to jump. "****," they swore under their breath, suddenly back in their usual form, but still hidden.

Rox gurgles"yeah...I heard it"he says looking in the direction the crashing noise came from"screw the mountains...screw the valleys...this is interesting"He starts walking in that direction
They sigh and duck into a room to conceal themself before saying something out into the echoing chamber. "I thought nobody came here, who are you?" They called out, prepared to shift forms to a much much smaller dragon to hide if need be. They tried not to think about the open space in which they heard their own voice. It was okay when they were in the middle, able to turn their head and see everything but... not from here.
"well...I'm a lost traveler who was going to the mountains...but my friend" *cough"rox"cough* "led me to the wrong place" the slime on his shoulder gurgles"yeah...I don't know why I always listen to you...maybe because I'm not smart enough to learn"
They hesitate before coming out of the room and stepping into the light. They were still several floors up, and it looked much like they were talking from a balcony to him. "How did you mistake this for a mountain?"
A few emotions crossed their face for a moment, nervousness, a steel-like expression, and then it settled on them just being baffled by the mix-up. They rose a brow at the slime he seemed to be talking with, but... it wasn't the strangest thing they'd seen.

"Ask rox, she is my guide..He says sighing...this isn't the first time this has happened..."He looks around"yet I always listen to her..."Rox gurgles gleefully"no, that is not a compliment"Rox gurgles again"yes...yes it is"He looks up at the dragon"how did you get up there"
"I... climbed. I'm good at hiding." They say casually, shrugging. They nodded in the direction of stairs. "There are those too." There was a moment of quiet. "Do the guide or guidee have any names?"
"the guide is rox, the guidee is cletus"He says climbing up the stairs
"Bleeding Heart," They introduce after a minute, hiding hands in pockets to tense their hands without letting it show.
"so, what are you doing here"He says admiring the view and rox gurgles"I know...imagine watching a sunset from here"
"Enjoying the Quiet. Usually no one's here, and I can just hear the wind and weather and animals and... well you get the idea. It's peaceful." They watch him as he ascends to their level.
"yeah..."He says still enjoying the view"rox...this is one of a kind view"
