Writing this one on behalf of a community that I am a part of. Wonderful community that hangs out over on Discord, role-playing in the lore of the DC Comics and those associated with them, or those who had crossed-over. We have pretty much everything and anything, since we have established the DC Multiverse so all avenues are open.
Canon characters, characters from other IP's that have been in contact with DC.....or if you want an original character of your own creation. Want to be a cop in Gotham City? Go for it. Want to help Lois Lane track down Superman or a new and juicy article about shady dealings Lex Luthor does.......the world is your oyster. Want to be a superhero in Victorian Era England. You can do that over at Earth 19, a recently discovered Earth in our lore.
We are always looking for new talents and new writers/RPers. All ages, all levels of experience. Old and new. We can help the new ones develop their skills, or help the old ones hone them to new levels. Always there, always willing and able to help. All you have to do is join.
All the questions and everything else that you have, please PM me or ask them right here. I shall be more than glad to answer them, and I do hope I get to see some new people join us.

Alright so, here's my first question, are there any specific canons already taken? (I assume you have taken Batman of course

Batman, Superman, Joker and so on and so forth. But some are not. Even some of the heavy hitters, such as Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Aquaman (and all his allies and enemies), plus James Gordon, some of the Detectives in the GCPD, Lex Luthor is available, Carmine Falcone and so on. We do have a list of available characters, but even if the ones you want are not on it, we can make arrangements. Hmmm...I'll have to think about who I want to play. How many characters is a single person allowed to play at any one time?
There is a unwritten rule that you can take as many as you can juggle at any given time. But, we had some problems with people using quite a few canon characters and just do nothing. So it is an administrative decision that you can have up to three canon ones, and well as many OC's as you want. But even that can be modified if someone is good in what they do. And judging by your interest and how you greeted me here and everything, I think you are.
Oh hahah, I don't think I could handle a ton of characters, I'd probably ease into it slowly with one. Just, so many options to choose from and I want to pick one I think I can do justice

Oh, second question. Any hard limits on power levels for OC's?
Of course. Ease into one. That is how I started.
Anyways to answer your question, there is some hard limit on the powers. But that is mostly to people who just join up and want to...........roflstomp, to use that word everyone around and not actually care about anyone except their own character. I do not think that applies to you.
That being said however, do not go overboard with superpowers. Making your character a mixture of Superman, The Monitor, Wonder Woman and Doctor Fate is not fun. Sure you can have powers, but some of the higher-tier ones such as bending reality and that kinda stuff......if you can avoid it, please by all means. But again......that only applies to the people who do not care about anything else except their characters.

Ah ok, that's pretty reasonable.
And no worries, the most powerful I would ever be considering for an OC would be like, a trained, elite Tamaranean warrior exiled due to the conquest of her planet and looking to bring Starfire back to reunite her people. (I made a character like this for another superhero RP elsewhere.) Tamaraneans are scary powerful even when they don't have the energy projection that Starfire and Blackfire have (which most naturally don't). Not as powerful as a Kryptonian but still insanely fast and durable, ya know? Plus, unaided interstellar flight
I also made a light elf villain based on the Thor mythos from Marvel comics who is a powerful caster, including skills in mind manipulation (but she is weak to iron cause of the same lore, and obviously the power is not a one thing beats all, it can be fought and broken,. and it is used sparingly more as a plot device, and obviously with player consent only if it ever gets used on a player character). I have some of this character up on RPR, as a matter of fact, if you want to see what I have so far.
Neither of those would be my first character for your group, obviously--I would want to prove to others that I'm there for fun and a good story first before I delve into the more exotic and powerful OC's in my arsenal.

What we do when someone new takes on a role we reboot it of it is viable and in this case it is. Both the takes on Lex did not do much.

Nope, no one has made Superboy either.
Is huntress or oracle from birds of prey availible?
Yes. We do not have an established Birds of Prey just yet, but we are looking for Helena Bertinelli and Barbara Gordon, in their pre-vigilante phases if possible, since it is Batman Year Three basically storywise. But we can make arrangements for Huntress or Oracle if you would like.

If you do your own creation, there is a template on how to do it.
If you go for canon, since we allow multiple canon stuff, you simply open the Wikipedia(s) and copy and paste the stuff that you like and that makes sense to you. Be it the New Earth version of characters, or Prime Earth or Comic Vine articles and so on. And combine it with The Animated Series and so on and so forth. You pick the best and what you want and mash it all up.
It may sound complicated, but it is not......it gives you freedom, plus you can do your own take.
Oh and also, we now have a Barbara Gordon onboard.

I meant more like...if one does a template, where would one put it?
On the server. You can either type up it there and put it as messages. Or type up a Google Doc file and upload it. Either way it goes on the server. First in the applications channel, then once three admins approve it it goes into character biographies. And do not worry about character limits or anything.
